This is a study of the measurement of inter papillary constance ( P.D ) in 702 old aged farmers aged over 45) and the comparition of frame size and distance space of optical center ( O.C ) from 240 Ready-made Reading spectacles. The average of P.D in male ( 62.83mm ) is greater than in female ( 61.18mm ), and the O.C of Ready-made Reading spectacles of Plastic lens ( 71.2mm ) longer than glass lens ( 70.8mm ). The correction prism power by wearing Reading spectacles in male was 0.7prism to 3.6prism and in female was 0.9prism to 4.4prism. So the prism power in female is greater than in male.

To 160 persons(90 men, 70 women) who went to the national hospital of Solok-island with Hanseds disease, I tested the objective refracts test with the product of Cannon Ltd. Co. which RK-3 Auto Ref-keratometer`s auto ophthalmoscope. The results were like these. Visual acuity of above 0.7 that can live without glasses was contained 44 men`s eyes(24.4%) and 19 women s eyes(13.6%). These result are indicated that men have had more good visual acuity than women. Visual acuity of below 0.6 that cannot do normal life was contained 80.3% of the total patients. And amblyopia of below 0.3 and eyes which cannot be corrected were shown 44.4 %(80 men s eyes and 55.7% 78 woman`s eyes). Myopia was contained 119 eyes(43), hyperopia was contained 139 eyes (50.4%) and emmetropia was 6.5%. Astigmatism was shown 136 men s eyes (86.6%) and 97 women`s eyes(81.5%). These results are indicated what many people accompany with astigmatism. And these ratio had some high percentages men rather than women. Direct astigmatic was contained 37 eyes (11.6 %), Indirect astigmatic 81 eyes(25.3%) and Oblique Astigmatic 115 eyes(35.9%). As a of distribut ed result oblique astigmatic occupied best high point as 49.4% in 233 astigmatism and distributed the opposite direction as compared with normal irregular emmetropia not patient.

We investigated the dominant eye of 123 Korean over twenty years old, then examined the refractive correlation of dominant eye, the unaided visual acuity and over-correlation. The results of these investigations are following. 91 persons of the whole number, 74%, have the dominant eye of right. The refractive correlation to the glasses are the high dominant eye. There are many men who are the same in unaided visual acuity. In men, they prefer to have the non-dominant eye but in women, they like better to have the dominant eye. The unaided visual acuity of ametropia, however, prefer to have the non-dominant eye in both men and women. In case of over-correction of an eye, there was affected the response of the other eye over 50% at the same time and the case of over-correction of dominant eye has more number than that of non-dominant eye.

As a result of visual acuity test of school children, the visual acuity is better girls than and more elder than younger. The Hyperopia of the Above ten aged children is decreased in boys rather than girls and Especially for who have +0.75Dt and below. The visual acuity of Ampetropia is 0.77 in +0.75 Dt and belows, 0.50 in +1.00 Dt and 0.33 in 3.00 Dt.. Myopia is increased as age. Possibility of having Myopia is bigger for females than for males. Especially the -0.75 Dt and below in males and from -1.00Dt to -1.75 Dt in Females are easy to have it. The Ampetropia of the visual acuity is 0.67 in -0.75Dt and below, 0.38 in -1.00Dt , 0.28 in -2.00Dt and 0.20 in -3.00 Dt

본 논문에서는 4${\times}$4 블록 절단부호화를 근사화 파라메타 {($Y_{\alpha},\;Y_{\beta}),\;P_{{\beta}/{\beta}}$}에 의한 블록 근사화 및 그 파라메타 부호화의 두 과정으로 나누고, 각 과정에 대해 연구하였다. 제안된 방식은 일단 블록을 평탄 및 에지블록으로 분류하여 평탄 블록은 한개의 근사화 레벨 Y로만 근사화하도록 하였다. 에지블록의 라벨 평면 $P_{{\beta}/{\beta}}$는 준비된 32개의 표준 패턴을 이용하여 근사화하도록 노력하였고, 근사화가 어려운 것은 그대로 전송하였으며, 근사화 레벨 $Y_{\alpha},\;Y_{\beta}$는 이미 전송된 라벨 평면을 이용하여 예측 양자화한 후 Huffman 부호화하도록 하였다. 본 방식의 성능은 배경부분에서의 표현에는 약간의 문제가 있는 것으로 나타나지만 SNR 면에서는 복잡한 변환 부호화 방식보다도 좋은 결과를 보이며, 특히 에지가 잘 보존되었다. An efficient quantization and encoding of BTC (Block Truncation Coding) parameters {($Y_{\alpha},\;Y_{\beta}),\;P_{{\beta}/{\beta}}$} are investigated, In our algorithm 4${\times}$4 blocks are classified into flat or edge block. While edge block is represented by two approximation level $Y_{\alpha},\;Y_{\beta}$ with label plane $P_{{\beta}/{\beta}}$, flat block is represented by single approximation level Y. The approximation levels Y, $Y_{\alpha}$ and $Y_{\beta}$ are encoded by predictive quatization specially designed, and the label plane $P_{{\beta}/{\beta}}$ is tried to be encoded using stored 32 reference plantes. The performance of the proposed scheme has appeared comparable to much more complex transform coding in terms of SNR, although it requires more study on the representation of small slope in background.

1. Most of ophthalmic dispensing P.D have been dispensed more largely than prescription in ophthalmic dispensed spectacles. 2. Consumers high preference inclination of large frame makes P. D imprecise. 3. As market is supplied with frame on the basis of reading glass spectacles, the kind of frame of reading glass spectacles is limited, especilly the development and supply of large frame with a small eye size is urgent. 4. Although various materials, size and eccentric lens are manufactured and supplied in lens among stock lens, it is necessary that a variety of material and kinds of eccen-triced lens be supplied and this sort of reading glass be possessed because the sort and size of + lens of reading glass are limited. 5. The correct ophthalmic dispensing optically is difficult, and it differ in measures acc-ording to the years of optometrist, as service is more, as optometrist in cooperation with consumer manufactured more correct spectacles according to this study.
