        Serum Protein Values of Racehorse in Korea

        임상적으로 건강하고 휴식상태에 있는 한국 경주마의 혈청단백질치를 조사하였다. 총단백질농도는 6.5$\pm$0.3g/100ml(평균$\pm$표준편차)이였다. 알부민 농도는 3.4$\pm$0.2, $\alpha$-글로부린 농도는 0.8$\pm$0.1, $\beta$-글로부린 농도는 1.2$\pm$0.2, ${\gamma}$-글로부린 농도는 1.1$\pm$0.3g/100ml이었으며, A/G 비는 1.15$\pm$0.21이었다. 성, 연령, 계절에 따르는 혈청단백질치의 차이를 통계적으로 분석하여 보고하였다.

        역사기록서 고찰을 통한 조선시대 산사태 특성 분석

        본 연구는 조선시대 산사태 발생현황과 특성에 대해서 현시대와 비교 분석하였다. 본 연구에 활용된 역사기록서는 조선왕조실록, 승정원일기, 비변사등록으로 이들 역사기록서에서 산사태, 토석류, 낙석을 포함하는 기록들을 고찰하였다. 조선시대 산사태 발생 원인은 강우가 81%로 가장 높았고, 50년 단위연도별 발생비율은 호우빈도와 유사한 결과로 나타났다. 그리고 월별산사태 발생 피해비율은 8월(30.7%), 7월(22.9%) 9월(18.8%) 순으로 나타났다. 또한 지역별 산사태 발생 피해비율은 강원도(16.3%), 서울(14.4%), 경기도 (13.4%), 경상북도(11.4%), 경상남도(10.9%) 순으로 나타났다. 결론적으로 조선시대의 산사태 특징은 발생원인과 빈발하는 월이 현재와 유사하였다. 또한 지역에 따른 피해발생비율도 유사점은 있었으나, 도심지에서는 다소 차이가 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 미래의 산사태 연구방향 및 정책수립에 대한 기초자료로 활용될 것으로 판단된다. In this study, the characteristic and occurrence on landslide of Joseon Dynasty were analyzed in order to compare with those of the present. Using the historical records on the Annals of Joseon Dynasty(朝鮮王朝實錄). The daily records of royal secretariat of Joseon Dynasty(承政院日記) and Bibyeonsadeungnok(備邊司謄錄), the record of landslide, debris flow and rockfall of Joseon Dynasty was investigated. The major cause of landslide of Joseon Dynasty was rainfall that was occupied by 81%, the ratio of landslide occurrence per 50 years was similar to frequency of torrential rain for same period. The ratio of landslide damage by month was the highest in August(30.7%) and the next was the July(22.9%) and September(18.8%) in order. And the ratio of landslide damage by region was the highest in Kangwon province(16.3%) and the next was the Seoul city(14.4%), Gyeonggi(13.4%), Gyeongbuk(11.4%), Gyeongnam(10.9%) province in order. The result show that causes, occurrence period and the damage ratio by regional on landslide of Joseon Dynasty were similar to those of the present, but there was a little difference in the city area. These results will be helpful to predict landslide trend in the future and set up policy countermeasures for landslide.

        자성광촉매용 TiO<sub>2</sub>-Fe<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> 나노복합분말의 합성

        [ $TiO_2-Fe_2O_3$ ] nanocomposite powders for magnetic photocatalyst were synthesized by sol-gel process, in which $TiO_2$ photocatalytic layer was formed on the surface of $\gamma-Fe_2O_3$ magnetic core. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) observation and X-ray diffractometry (XRD) analysis revealed that$\gamma-Fe_2O_3$ nanoparticles, $10\~20nm$ in diameter, were coated by $TiO_2$ shell of 5nm in thickness and $TiO_2$ was anatase phase. Also hydroxyl group (-OH) used to decompose organic compounds was detected by Fourier transformation infrared spectrometry(FT-IR) analysis. UV-Visible spectrophotometry results showed that light absorption occurred in the wavelength range of $400\~700 nm$, and the band gap energy $(E_g)$ of powder was 1.8 eV. Finally it was found that the coercivity $(H({ci})$ and saturation magnetization $(M_s)$ of the powder were 79 Oe and 14.8 emu/g, respectively as experimental vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) measurements.

        The bonding process should be achieved in vacuum environment to avoid air bubble. In this study, we studied about pressure uniformity that became an issue in thermo compression bonding usually. Uniform press is realized by the method that use air spring and metal form spring. The concept of uniform press using air spring is removed except pressing direction in the press processing so angle between the vector of pressure surface and the pressure axis is parallel automatically. Air spring compensate the errors of machining and assembly. Metal form compensate the thermal deformation and flatness error.

        여우에 있어서 돼지 간 급여에 의한 비타민 A 과잉증의 집단발생

        Hypervitaminosis A occurred in about 30% of foxes of five farms in Choongcheongbukdo-province from October 1989 to February 1990. Clinical signs were loss of appetite, retarded growth, lameness. Radiological changes were decreased density of the long bones, especially fibula, and osteophytes developed either on the lateral condyle of humerus or ulnar just below the semilunar notch. Pathological change was the development of exotosis as is evidenced by radiological examination. Pig liver and lung consisted 30∼55% of feeds from March 1989 to February 1990. The serum concentrations of vitamin A in 2 affected foxes were 45,900 and 47,300 IU/d$\ell$ and the concentrations of vitamin A in the liver were 8,760 and 10,842 IU/gm respectively. It is concluded that the high level of vitamin A in the pig liver and the large amount of pig liver in the feed composition are the etiology of the disease.

        유전공학 Porcine Somatotropin의 투여가 돼지의 건강에 미치는 영향

        Safety of recombinant porcine somatotropin administration on pig was studied using 32 Landrace x Yorkshire crossbred pigs. The starting body weight ranged from 55.5kg to 65.3kg. Eight pigs were allotted to each low dose group of sustained releasing rPST(SL), high dose group of sustained releasing rPST(SH), daily injection group of rPST(DI), and control group(C). Pigs in SL group and SH group were injected subcutaneously twice in 3 week-interval with 1000$\mu\textrm{g}$ and 2000$\mu\textrm{g}$ of sustained releasing rPST per kg body weight, respectively. Pigs in DI group were injected intramuscularly with 100$\mu\textrm{g}$ of rPST everyday for 6 weeks. Blood was collected from anterior vena cava just before the first treatment, and at four weeks and six weeks of experiment. Hematological parameters and blood chemical parameters indicating liver function, kidney function, electrolyte metabolism, mineral metabolism and lipid metabolism were determined. Necropsy and urinalysis were performed after final blood collection. The results were summarized as follows, and it is concluded that rPST administration does not affect pig health negatively. 1. rPST administration did not affect kidney function as manisfested by BUN, creatinine and urinalysis. 2. rPST administration did not affect liver function as manisfested by total protein, albumin, serum AST activity serum ALT activity serum ALP activity, serum LDH activity, serum GGT activity and serum SDH activity. 3. rPST administration did not affect skeletal muscle, cardiac muscle and brain as manifasted by serum AST activity and serum LDH activity. 4. rPST administration increased blood glucose level within normal range. 5. rPST administration did not affect lipid metabolism as manisfested by triglyceride, cholesterol, and phospholipid concentrati on. 6. rPst administration dia not affect mineral metabolism as manisfested by calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and iron concentration. 7. rPST administration did not affect electrolyte metabolism as manisfested by Na, K, chloride concentration. 8. rPST administration did not affect erythrocyte count, leukocyte count, thrombocyte count, and plasma fibrinogen level.

        한국인 아급성 피부 홍반성 루푸스의 임상적 고찰

        Background: The proportion of patients with subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus(SCLE) is considered to be 10% among the total LE population in western countries. The morphology of LE-specific skin lesions in SCLE : appear as papulosquamous erythema or annular erythema developing mostly on the exposed areas. Among Korean patients with LE the prevalence and the pattern of cutaneous eruption of SCLE may be different from those patients of western countries. Objective : To obtain the prevalence and the morphological characteristics of cutaneous lesions in Korean patients with SCI E v;ere the main objectives. Methods : With 7 cases of SCLE, clinical dermatologic examinations for the character, the distribution, and the clinical course of those cutaneous lesions, and for t,he extent of systemic symptoms and LE-related laboratory abnormalities in each patient were performed. Results/Coeclusion. The prevalence of SCLE among Korean patients with LE or latent LE was much lower than those seen in Caucasians. The pattern of cutaneous lesions were papular/ papulosquamous erythemas with no (or rare) cases of annular erytherna among those patients diagnosed as SCLE. ~Other cl~inica! features were similar to Caucasian patients. It seems that there are some racial differences in the cutaneous manifestat.ions of LE, which may be relevant to the dissimilarities in immunogenetic backgrounds between different racial groups.         공동-지주막하 단락술로 실패한 외상후 척수공동증에 대한 공동-흉막강 단락술 - 증례보고 -

        The authors report a case of syringo-pleural shunt for recurrent distal obstruction of syringosubarachnoid shunt in a 23-year-old woman. She complained of tingling sensation and dysesthesia on the left upper extremity. Neuroradiologic imaging studies revealed syringomyelia in the left lateral side of the cord from medulla to 7th thoracic cord level. We identified intraoperatively high internal pressure of the syrinx cavity due to distal shunt tube obstruction. Syringo-pleural shunt was performed and cavity size was markedly decreased at later follow up MRI. In conclusion, the posttraumatic syrinx, especially in cases with previous syringosubarachnoid shunt or diffuse subarachnoid scarring, can be successfully managed with syringo-pleural shunt.

        $Sr_{0.8}Bi_{2.4}Ta_2O_9/Pt/Si$ 구조의 수소열처리에 의한 강유전특성 열화에 미치는 W-N/Pt 전극효과

        [ $Sr_{0.8}Bi_{2.4}Ta_2O_9(SBT)/Pt$ ] 구조에서 $350^{\circ}C$ 온도로 수소열처리에 의한 강유전특성 열화를 방지하기 위한 W-N/Pt 하부전극의 효과를 살펴보았다. 그 결과 Pt와 SBT 박막사이에 증착된 W-N박막에 의해 수소의 확산을 차단할 수 있었다. Pt 표면에서 수소원자가 화학적인 흡착이 일어나지 않음으로써 흡착된 수소가 SBT 박막내의 산소와 결합하게 됨으로써 oxygen deficiency가 발생하는 것을 막을 수 있었다. W-N 박막이 양호한 확산방지막으로 작용하여 강유전특성의 열화현상을 방지 할 수 있었다.
