We investigated the physicochemical properties of brown rice by cultivar to select cultivar suitable for making brown rice porridge. The moisture content of the brown rice ranged from 8.79~11.78% with the highest varieties being 'Geonyangmi'. The crude ash and crude lipid content ranged from 1.02~1.65% and 1.65~3.26%, while the rest were similar except for 'Daebo'. Crude protein also had the lowest 'Daebo' and generally glutinous rice showed higher crude protein content than common rice. The hardness showed that 'Seolgaeng' and 'Keunnun' were the lowest, and 'Haiami' was the highest. In the RVA analysis, the setback was in the range -80.61~22.44 and was low in the order of 'Wolbaek', 'Baekjinju'', and 'Dongjinchal'. As a result of water binding capacity (WBC) measurement, 'Sindongjin', 'Geonyang' and 'Samkwang', were high in common rice, and 'Dongjinchal' and 'Hwaseonchal' were high in glutinous rice. Generally, solubility and swelling power in common rice was found to be lower than in glutinous rice. As a result, 'Samkwang' is considered suitable for brown rice porridge production because of high WBC, breakdown, and low setback.

Antimicrobial activity and bactericidal activity of Caesalpinia sappan L. extracts were investigated against five food-borne pathogens, E. coli, S. aureus, S. typhimurium, B. cereus and L. monocytogenes. Methanol extract of Caesalpinia sappan L. revealed antimicrobial activities against five pathogens. In particular, by paper disc diffusion the highest activity was shown against L. monocytogenes. Antimicrobial activities of methanol extracts showed the most potent activities, but hexane fraction had no activity. Fractions of ethyl acetate and butanol turned out to have higher antimicrobial activities against Gram(+) bacteria than Gram(-) bacteria. The minimum inhibitory concentration against five food-borne pathogens was 1.563 mg/ml on Gram(+) bacteria and 3.125 mg/ml on Gram(-) bacteria. The result of antimicrobial activity in a shaking flask method showed that bacterial growth rate fell by more than 99.999% at 3.125 mg/ml of methanol extract. The highest rate of viable reduction (99.998%) was shown at 0.781 mg/ml of methanol extract against L. monocytogenes. After five minutes of reaction between test strains and methanol extracts, the growth rates of five kinds of bacteria were reduced by more than 99.999% at a concentration of 100 mg/ml. Therefore, it is suggested that methanol extracts of Caesalpinia sappan L. can be developed as a natural sanitizer or disinfectant.

시안 함유 도금폐수의 재활용이 가능한 전기적 산화법에 의한 수용액상의 시안 성분 분해특성을 규명하기 위한 실험을 수행하였다. 전해산화에 의한 유리시안 분해실험 결과, 전류효율과 분해속도를 고려할 때 전압 5V, 구리촉매량 Cu/CN 몰비 0.05가 적정조건이었으며, 이때의 전류효율은 26%, 분해속도는 5.6 mM/min 이었으며 적정수준 이상의 전압과 구리첨가는 분해속도를 소폭 상승시키나 전류효율은 증가하지 않았다. 지지전해질의 증가는 전류밀도의 증가로 분해속도를 소폭 증가시키나 전류효율은 크게 감소하였다. 초기 유리시안 농도실험 결과, 과산화수소 산화와 유사한 결과를 나타내어 시안농도 증가시 분해속도 및 전류효율이 동시에 증가하므로 고농도 시안일수록 적절한 공정으로 판단된다. 각 변수가 총괄 반응속도에 미치는 영향을 확인하기 위하여 In($C_{CN}$ /$C_{CNo}$ )와 시간과의 관계로부터 계산한 총괄 반응속도 상수는 $1.6∼7.3${\times}$10^{-3}$ $min^{-1}$ 이었으며 시안농도에 대하여 1차 반응식을 만족하였다. The characteristics of cyanide decomposition in aqueous phase by electric oxidization have been explored in an effort to develop a process to recycle waste water. Considering current efficiency and voltage, the free cyanide decomposition experiment by electric oxidization indicated that 5 V of voltage and copper catalytic Cu/CN mole ratio 0.05 was the most appropriate condition, where current efficiency was 26%, and decomposition speed was 5.6 mM/min. High voltage and excess copper addition increased decomposition speed a little bit but not current efficiency. The experiment of free cyanide density change proves that high density cyanide is preferred because speed and current efficiency increase with density. Also, the overall decomposition reaction could be represented by the first order with respcect to cyanide with the rate constant of $1.6∼7.3${\times}$10^{-3}$ $min^{-1}$ The mass transfer coefficient of electric oxidization of cyanide came out as $2.42${\times}$10^{-5}$ $min^{-1}$ Furthermore, the Damkohler number was calculated as 5.7 in case of 7 V and it was found that the mass transfer stage was the rate determining step.
전송 효율을 고려한 무선센서 네트워크에서의 Hybrid MAC(HMAC) 프로토콜

본 논문에서는 무선센서 네트워크에서 전송 효율을 높이기 위하여 CSMA/CA 방식과 TDMA 방식을 혼합한 HMAC 프로토콜을 제안한다. 제안된 HMAC에서는 패킷 전송을 원하는 송신 노드가 CSMA/CA 방식을 통하여 수신 노드에게 전송 요청을 하고, 수신 노드에서는 네트워크 토폴로지와 전송되어지는 트래픽 양에 따라 TDMA 방식으로 적절히 슬롯을 할당함으로 여러 수신 노드들 사이에 슬롯 중복 할당으로 인한 충돌을 낮춤으로 전송효율을 높일 수 있다. In this paper we propose a Hybrid MAC(HMAC) to enhance the transmission throughput in Wireless Sensor Networks(WSNs). In the proposed HMAC, sender nodes send transmission request packets to the receiver nodes using CSMA/CA MAC protocol. And the receiver node assigns slots according to the network topology and the amount of traffics using TDMA. Using HMAC we get the enhanced throughput by lowering the duplicated slot assignment.

We experienced a patient in whom rupture of the peroneus longus tendon occurred after ostectomy of the peroneus tubercle of the calcaneus. Acute rupture of the peroneus tendon can be managed by end-to-end anastomosis, while neglected cases can be treated by tenodesis, tendon transfer, or tendon graft. In the current patient, the tendon ends were mildly retracted, yielding a small gap. We successfully repaired the retracted tendon ends after lengthening by Z-plasty.
실시간 무선 영상 감시시스템을 위한 Streamer의 설계 및 구현

네트워크 인프라의 성장과 디지털 영상압축 기술의 발달로 네트워크 카메라 서버를 이용한 실시간 영상감시 시스템의 수요가 증가함에 따라 가정이나 소규모 사무실에 적합한 실용화 수준의 보안 시스템에 대한 요구도 함께 증대되고 있다. 기존의 CCTV를 이용한 실시간 영상감시에 비해 네트워크 카메라 서버를 이용한 영상감시는 많은 이점이 있다. 본 논문에선 실시간 영상감시 시스템의 핵심 모듈로서 JPEG 영상의 수집과 전달을 담당하는 JPEG Streamer의 모델을 설계, 구현하며 JPEG Streamer의 안정성과 효율성을 위해서 쓰레드 풀과 공유메모리를 사용하고 실시간 영상의 품질을 높이기 위해서 더블버퍼링의 개념도 도입하였다. 또한 제시된 Streamer의 모델을 이용하여 개인 휴대단말기(PDA)로 무선 인터넷을 통해 실시간 영상을 전송하는 무선 영상 감시시스템을 제시한다. Recently, the network Infrastructure grows rapidly and the digital image compression technique has made remarkable progress. Therefore, the demand of the real-time image surveillance system which uses a network camera server has been increasing. Network Camera Server has emerged as an attractive alternative to the CCTV for the wireless video surveillance. In this article, the model of JPEG Streamer for collecting and delivering JPEG image is designed and realized as a key module for the wireless video surveillance system. The thread pool and shared memory have been used to improve the stability and efficiency of the JPEG Streamer. In addition, the concept of double buffering is of much benefit to improve the quality of real-time image. In this article, the wireless video surveillance system by using JPEG Streamer is suggested to send the real-time image through the wireless internet with the personal digital assistance (PDA).
신축성있는 Ag 나노와이어 전극의 제조 및 전기변색 응용

We report on stretchable electrochromic films of poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) fabricated on silver nanowire (AgNW) electrodes. AgNWs electrodes are prepared on polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) substrates using a spray coater for stretchable electrochromic applications. On top of the AgNW electrode, poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrene sulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) is introduced to ensure a stable resistance over the electrode under broad strain range by effectively suppressing the protrusion of AgNWs from PDMS. This bilayer electrode exhibits a high performance as a stretchable substrate in terms of sheet resistance increment by a factor of 1.6, tensile strain change to 40 %, and stretching cycles to 100 cycles. Furthermore, P3HT film spin-coated on the bilayer electrode shows a stable electrochromic coloration within an applied voltage, with a color contrast of 28.6 %, response time of 4-5 sec, and a coloration efficiency of $91.0cm^2/C$. These findings indicate that AgNWs/PEDOT:PSS bilayer on PDMS substrate electrode is highly suitable for transparent and stretchable electrochromic devices.
이중 대역 방송 서비스가 가능한 비디오 광수신기(ONU: Optical Network Unit)의 개발

FTTH 인프라 구축이 활성화됨에 따라 광섬유의 대역폭을 효과적으로 이용하기 위한 기술들이 활발히 연구되고 있다. 특히, 방송통신 융합 서비스에 대한 관심과 연구가 활발히 진행되면서 하나의 광섬유를 통해 다수의 방송 서비스를 수용할 수 있는 광 비디오 네트워크 단말장치(VONU: Video Optical Network Unit)의 연구가 요구되고 있다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 비디오 광 송신장치에서 전광 변환된 디지털 및 아날로그 CATV(Community Antenna TeleVision) 방송 신호와 위성 안테나를 통해 수신되어 전광 변환된 위성방송 신호가 하나의 FITH 광 선로를 통해 전송되고 이를 광전 변환하여 출력하는 VONU를 개발한다. 본 연구에서 개발하는 VONU는 데이터통신 채널을 이용한 IPTV 방송과 함께 CATV, 위성방송 등 모든 방송 콘텐츠를 하나의 광섬유 코어를 통해 전송할 수 있기 때문에 경제적인 방송통신 융합 서비스의 구현이 가능해 진다. 그러나, 서비스 별로 별도의 광수신기를 사용할 경우와는 달리 서비스간 간섭, 신호 왜곡, 잡음비 증가 등에 따른 방송 품질 저하 등의 병존성 문제가 발생하기 때문에 이에 대한 문제를 해결하기 위한 기술들이 필수적이다. 따라서, 본 연구에서 제시하는 VONU는 이에 대한 해결방안을 제안한다. As an astonishing progress of FTTH infrastructure, the new technologies have been widely studied to use the tantalizing benefits of high bandwidth in fiber optic cable. In this paper, a new VONU is presented to perform all necessary optical functions. It can converts digital and analog CATV signals and satellite-based signal transmitted via one fiber optic cable to electrical signals (electric lights). However, most previous VONU systems have the problems such as interference between difference services, signal distortion, and noise increasing rate. These problems cause the quality deterioration in broadcasting. Therefore, we suggest the new VONU system to solve all problems listed above. In addition, we show that how our system performs well by measuring the real data with implemented system.
유한요소 모델을 이용한 WUF-W 모멘트 접합부의 회전성능평가

The objective of a 3D finite-element study is to evaluate the rotation performance of Welded Unreinforced Flange-Welded web moment(WUF-W) connections for SMF System designed according to requirements of the current seismic codes. The analysis models using the general-purpose computer program ABAQUS are based on the exterior connection test results and conducted nonlinear analysis with the same boundary conditions and load protocol. The main variables of the analysis model were beam depth and slope of the weld access hole. The analytical results provided information on basic performance and the effects of these parameters using stress and strain indices. Based on the results of the analytical study, analysis models developed configuration of access-hole showed improved ductility capacity at critical location of moment connections.
