        대학생과 근로자의 부모교육 프로그램 개발을 위한 기초 연구

        This research explored parenting education programs for both college students and adolescent workers, and it was focused on determining whether different parenting education programs were needed for college students and adolescent workers. The participants were 254 college students in Suncheon and 135 adolescent industrial workers in Ulsan. Data were gathered via questionnaires and two-way ANOVA analyses of parenting effectiveness by sex and social status(college student, versus adolescent industrial worker), and by age and social status were performed. There were no significant differences based on sex, age, or social status, and no interaction effect. However, there were significant differences in adolescents' parenting effectiveness depending on childhood parenting experiences, parenting knowledge, and parenting education program experience. Among the predictors(sex, age, social status, childhood parenting experience, parenting knowledge, and parent education experiences) adolescents' childhood parenting experiences was the strongest variable for predicting parenting effectiveness. In this regard, the results confirmed Bronfenbrenner's Ecological System's Theory that family influences children's belief systems about parenting effectiveness in the microsystem. Furthermore, the results indicate that a different parenting education program is not needed for college students and adolescent industrial workers, respectively; instead, a more comprehensive parenting education program for all adolescents - regardless of social status is needed. And based on the present study's results, the importance of child development knowledge, and parent-child relationships in parenting education programs was also confirmed. From a broader social perspective, all adolescents are encouraged to participate in parenting education programs.

        『한밤중에 개에게 일어난 의문의 사건』에 나타난 심인성 자폐증과 폭력적인 환경

        This paper explores the symptoms and factors of autism represented in Mark Haddon’s novel, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time (2003). The protagonist of the novel, named Christopher, is portrayed as having an autistic disability, involving symptoms such as fixations on certain objects, extreme sensitivity to touch and sound, and panic attacks. The text’s representation of autism, however, is divergent from autism in reality, currently considered a neurological disorder caused by differences in the brain, rather than a psychological problem affected by the external environment. For example, unlike autistic people in reality, who have difficulty understanding linguistic metaphor due to differences in their brain function, Christopher reveals a high level of comprehension of linguistic metaphor. Taking autism as a literary device, Haddon’s novel freely appropriates it, and segregates itself from scientific discourse. One remarkable effect of the intentional “misrepresentation” of autism is to suggest deep and complex factors that lie behind the character’s autism. Specifically, in the novel, the protagonist’s autistic disability is presented as a sign of post-traumatic stress disorder, which results less from neurological condition than from traumatic experiences and relationships made in social spaces. Through a close reading of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, this paper examines how the social environment is shown as being responsible for causing and developing Christopher’s autistic symptoms, with the ultimate goal of addressing the importance of creating a dialogical social space to promote recovery in individuals situated throughout the autism spectrum.

        부모의 학습관여, 학업스트레스 및 아동의 학업적 자아개념간의 관계

        This study examined the effect parent’s learning involvement behavior perceived by an elementary school student has on their academic self-concept and academic stress, and examined whether the learner’s academic self-concept plays a mediatory role with regard to parent’s form of learning involvement and one’s academic stress. This study conducted an investigation using self-administered questionnaire regarding parent’s learning involvement behavior, academic self-concept, and academic stress on 244 5th and 6th grade elementary students residing in Seoul. To analyze the subject of inquiry, correlation analysis and stepwise multiple regression analysis was conducted. As a result of this study, it was discovered that first of all, learning selection, supply of democratic rule, encouragement of learning advance, supply of learning information of parent’s learning involvement behavior had a positive effect on academic self-concept. Secondly, supply of democratic rule, propriety & profit, encouragement of learning advance, supply of learning information of parent’s learning involvement behavior and academic self-concept had a negative effect on academic stress. Thirdly, academic self-concept had a mediation effect between parent’s learning involvement behavior and academic stress. 본 연구는 초등학생에게 가장 많은 영향력을 가지는 외적 요인인 부모의 학습관여 행동이 학업 자아개념과 학업 스트레스에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 또한 학습자의 내적 요인으로 학업 자아개념을 중심으로 부모의 학습관여 형태와 본인의 학업 스트레스에 있어 매개역할을 하는지 살펴보았다. 본 연구는 초등학교 5, 6학년 244명을 대상으로 부모의 학습관여행동, 학업 자아개념, 학업 스트레스에 대하여 자기보고식 설문방식으로 조사한 후, 분석을 실시하였다. 연구문제의 분석을 위해 상관분석, 단계적 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과, 첫째, 부모의 학습관여 행동 중 학습 선택권부여, 민주규칙제공, 학업진보격려, 학업정보제공은 학업 자아개념에 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 부모의 학습관여 행동 중 민주규칙제공, 적정성과 추구, 학업진보격려, 학업정보제공과 학업 자아개념은 학업스트레스에 부적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 부모의 학습관여행동과 학업 스트레스 사이에서 학업 자아개념은 매개효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다.

      • 펠릭스 곤잘레스 토레스(Felix Gonzales Torres) 작품에 나타난 죽음에 대하여

        펠릭스 곤잘레스 토레스(Felix Gonzalez- Torres)는 쿠바 태생으로 미국 뉴욕에서 행위 예술과 개념 미술 작업을 주로 하는 작가이다. 그의 성적 정체성 문제로 사회적으로 금기시된 사항들을 은유이면서도 섬세하게 작업했다. 토레스가 활동했던 1980년대 후반 -1990년대는 앞선 시대였던 1980년대 보수적인 분위기와 달리 다소 부드러운 분위기로 작가들의 주제들을 큰 틀 안에서 용인하는 것을 관찰할 수 있는데 그런 사회적 상황과 맞물려 적극적으로 자신의 의견을 작품에서 피력한다. 토레스는 프랑스 철학가 조르주 바타이유(George Bataille)의 책 ≪에로티즘≫에서 영향을 받은 것으로 보인다. 그의 동성 연인의 죽음 전후로 바타이유의 이론이 작품에 적절히 적용되는 것을 관찰할 수 있다. 본고에서는 바타이유가 ≪에로티즘≫에서 거론한 죽음과 금기의 위반에 대하여 살펴보고 그의 작품에서 두 의미를 찾아보고자 하였다. 서양에서는 전통적으로 육체와 정신을 이중적으로 구분하는 이원론적 생각이 지배적이다. 포스트모더니즘에 와서야 전통적으로 하위 개념을 지녔던 육체적인 부분을 정신과 동일하게 인정하기 시작했다. 토레스의 경우 포스트모더니즘 개념을 잘 알고 있었으나 그러한 몸과 정신의 대비 상황을 설명하기보다 아직은 육체와 정신이 분리되었다는 개념에서 작업한다. 그의 작품은 자신과 죽은 연인의 현존에 대하여 이야기 한다. 일한 물건을 나란히 배치하것은 연인과 자신, 영혼과 육체, 삶과 죽음, 생성과 소멸 등 대비되는 두 가지를 상징한다. 또한 그의 작품 중 초상화로는 독특한 형식인 <사탕 더미 Candy Spill>는 육체를 구성하는 세포들과 사탕을 동일시하여 관람자가 사탕을 가져 가는 행동이 자신의 아픔과 치료라는 상징적 개념을 가지고 있다. 특히 사탕은 관람자의 몸 속에 녹아 새로운 생명으로 살아가고 이 과정에서 소멸과 부활을 상징한다. 개념적이면서 환영적인 부활을 나타내는 작품들은 관람자의 직접적인 참여를 유도하고 미술관 제도에서 금기시 하는 행위들을 위반하여 제도에 대한 비판적 태도도 선보인다. 본 고에서는 이러한 금기와 위반적 측면을 작품을 통해 살펴보고 그 개념이 바타이유가 설명한 금기와 연관 있다고 보았다. 위반은 위반한 사람들에게 일종의 쾌감을 선사한다. 삶에 대한 위반인 죽음은 이런 맥락에서 볼 때 쾌락을 의미하고 바타이유 이론에서 죽음에 대한 부분과 맥락적으로 상응하고 있다. 아울러 작품 전체를 통해 암시되고 있는 일시성은 죽음의 의미를 더욱 강조하는 장치가 된다. Felix Gonzalez-Torres was born in Cuba and is an artist who mainly works in Performing Arts and Conceptual Arts in New York, USA. He worked metaphorically and delicately on issues forbidden to society. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, when Torres was active, in contrast to the conservative atmosphere of the 1980s earlier, we can observe that the theme of the artists was accepted in a big frame with a rather soft atmosphere, and in such a social situation, he actively expressed his opinions in his work. Torres seems to have been influenced by the book "Erotism" of the French philosopher George Bataille. We can observe that Bataille’s theory was appropriately applied to his work before and after the passing of his homosexual. In this article, we examine the violation of passing and taboo Bataille referred in "Erotism" and tried to find two meanings in his work. In the West, the dualist idea of distinguishing between the body and the mind is traditionally dominant. In postmodernism, it began to recognize the body that traditionally had sub-concepts equally as the mind. Torres was well aware of the concept of postmodernism, but rather than explaining the contrast of such body and mind, he worked on the notion that the body and mind are separate. His work talked about the presence of himself and his dead lover. Arranging the same things side by side symbolizes two contrasts: lover and self, soul and body, life and death, creation and destruction. In addition, Candy Spill, a peculiar form as portrait of his works, has a symbolic concept that the behavior of the spectator taking candy is pain and treatment by identifying the candy with the cells forming the body. Especially candy melts in the body of the spectator and lives as a new life, symbolizing extinction and resurrection in this process. The works representing conceptual and illusional resurrection induce direct participation of spectators and also show critical attitudes toward the system by violating taboo activities in the museum system. In this article, we examined these taboos and violation aspects through his works and considered that the concept was related to the taboo described by Bataille. A violation provides a kind of pleasure to those who violated it. The passing, violation of life, in this context, means pleasure and corresponds contextually to the part of passing in Bataille theory. In addition, the temporality that is implied throughout the work becomes a device to further emphasize the meaning of passing.

        빅 브라더 사회의 타이포그래피, 스피크라이트, 핸드라이팅: 조지 오웰의 『1984』에 나타난 글자 이미지

        Nineteen Eighty-Four (1949), George Orwell’s novel depicting Big Brother’s society in which the government produces propaganda to ensure that the population idolizes the dictator, presents how the making of propaganda is facilitated through the use of advanced technology, such as the telescreen and the writing machine, referred to as the “speakwrite.” Using these electronic devices, society invents a single standard form of typography and writing, both of which function to conceal Big Brother’s lies and sustain the dictatorship. Feeling a sense of opposition to Big Brother, Winston Smith, the novel’s protagonist, practices a particular type of writing— handwriting—through which he obtains the bodily experience of touching writing materials and creates various images of letters on paper, associated with the writer’s body. This paper explores the opposition between the images of letters produced by the two conflicting subjects: the machines of Big Brother and the hand of Winston. By examining how the society depicted in Nineteen Eighty-Four engenders a uniform style of typography and official documents, this article considers the convoluted relationship of power, technology, and letters. Subsequently, it discusses the effects and values of handwriting inserted within the novel, with the goal of elucidating why Orwell regards it as a substitution for dystopian forms of writing. 본 논문에서는 조지 오웰(George Orwell)이 소설 『1984』(Nineteen Eighty-Four)에 표현한 문자의 이미지, 기계, 손 글씨의 관계를 고려하면서, 권력과 문자가 맞물리는 방식을 논의한다. 또한 오웰의 소설에서 기계적인 글쓰기와 손으로 글 쓰는 것이 대립되는 지점을 살펴본다. 이 논의를 위해 우선 빅 브라더를위한 ‘볼드체 대문자’의 형태와 효과를 짚어보면서, 문자와 이미지 사이의 상호연관성을 통해 빅 브라더의 권위가 생산, 유포, 유지되는 방식을 분석한다. 다음으로오웰이 묘사한 디스토피안 기계 ‘스피크라이트’에 초점을 맞추어, 글자 이미지가국가의 거짓말을 유포하는데 용이한 매개체가 될 수 있다는 것을 주장한다. 아울러소설의 주인공이 손으로 쓴 일기에 체현된 인체의 흔적을 살펴보면서, 인간의 몸으로 기록된 글이 전체주의 사회에 대항할 수 있는 가능성에 대해 고찰할 것이다.

        서벌턴 여성의 목소리 찾기: 조이스의 「에블린」을 통한 윤리적 영미문학교육

        This study proposes that James Joyce’s short story “Eveline” leads us to undertake an ethical task for a subaltern woman depicted by James Joyce. Critics have often expressed their discontent with the story’s ending where Eveline abandons her plan to escape Dublin after her suspension between home and world. Deploring Eveline’s final decision, many scholars have assessed her as a stupid woman who does not make a right choice. Trapped within the oppressive cultural system, Eveline cannot leave Dublin, although she wants to gain a sense of freedom and independence in another place. Joyce, however, encourages us to view Eveline from a sympathetic perspective, through portraying her as a subaltern woman who does not possess any cultural asset that may enable one to make his or her own choice. Revealing the poor condition where Eveline is placed, the text shows that she is forced to be silent. It also hints that Eveline could have been a physically or mentally disabled figure so that she cannot leave. What emerges from this representation is both a challenge to any hasty judgement on Eveline and expanded efforts to empower the character. In trying to not judge but understand Eveline, we can participate in the ethical experience of restoring her voice and words erased in her society. After tracking closely Joyce’s presentation of the absent words of Eveline, this essay explores ways in which “Eveline” can be taught in the classroom.

        Against Euphemism in Mrs. Dalloway: Virginia Woolf, the Psychiatrist, and the Lies

        During the First World War, British social elites invented a style of euphemism in which the horror of war is concealed. As a historical witness who saw the terror of the Great War and the progress of euphemism, Virginia Woolf attacked the political usage of euphemism, especially in terms of war and trauma. Composed in the post-World War I period, Mrs. Dalloway (1925) conveys Woolf’s opposition to euphemism harnessed to disguise the true qualities of war and wound. In approaching the matter of euphemism, the fiction offers two divided groups of people, patients and doctors, and presents distinctions between their rhetorical styles; the doctors depend on euphemism while the patients avoid it. The novel suggests that the doctors’ usage of euphemism stems from sinister desires: the intention to hide the wounds of World War I and the intention to neglect ethical obligations toward patients and war victims. By focusing on Mrs. Dalloway, this paper examines Woolf’s critiques of war-related euphemism, a particular form of euphemism valorized to conceal the cruelties of war and re-victimize the patients affected by illness and trauma in the postwar climate. One assumption in this paper is that Woolf’s sexual trauma and the post-traumatic illness might have affected her complex attitudes toward war-related euphemisms. In the process of illuminating the link between trauma and euphemism, the present discussion also attends to Woolf’s autobiographical writings which raise the convoluted issues of war, post-traumatic disease, and euphemism.

        고아밀로스 쌀가루의 가공 품질에 찹쌀 전분이 미치는 영향

        Purpose: The effects of the addition of different ratios of waxy rice starch (WRS) to improve the processing quality of domestic and imported high amylose rice flours (HARFs) were investigated. Methods: The general compositions, particle size distribution, physical and pasting properties, and processing quality of mixed rice flours (MRFs) were measured. HARF and WRS were prepared from Goami and Sinseonchal varieties. The amylose contents of MRFs with different ratios of WRS were 0.0, 8.7, 10.4, 13.0, 15.6, 17.3, 20.8, and 26.0%, respectively. Results: Crude protein contents and water binding capacities of the MRFs increased, but swelling power decreased with decreasing the WRS addition. The particle size distribution pattern of MRF was composed of two peaks, 3-10 μm of free starch granules and 100 μm of flour particles included in cells and the former increased with adding WRS. The initial pasting temperature increased, but peak and breakdown viscosities decreased with increasing the amylose contents. When the rice cupcakes were prepared from MRFs, the appearance and specific volume were shown to be good for above 15.6% amylose contents of the MRFs The adhesiveness disappeared above 17.3% of amylose content. The overall quality of rice cupcakes showed the highest score when the amylose contents of MRFs ranged from 8.7 to 20.8%. Conclusion: From the results, the addition of 20~40% WRS into HARF should improve the processing quality and quality characteristics of rice cupcakes.

        아동의 학업스트레스 및 주의통제와 공격성간의 관계: 주의통제력의 매개효과

        This study examined the effortful control mediating effect in the association between children’s school achievement stress and aggression. The participants were 441 4th grade elementary students. The research question was tested by using Structural equational modeling anf Sobel test. The result showed that school achievement stress influenced negatively the effortful control, the effortful control influenced aggression negatively, and school achievement stress influenced positively the aggression. The effortful control mediated the association between school achievement stress and aggression. 본 연구는 초등학생의 학업스트레스와 주의통제, 공격성간의 관계를 알아보았고, 초등학생의 학업스트레스가 주의통제를 통해 공격성에 어떠한 경로로 영향을 미치는지 살펴보았다. 이를 위해, 서울시에 재학하는 초등학생 4학년 441명을 대상으로 초기청소년 기질 척도(EATQ-R), 아동의 일상적 스트레스 척도를 사용하였다. 자료 분석을 위하여 SPSS 20.0을 사용하여 상관분석을 실시하였고, AMOS 20.0을 사용하여 구조방정식 분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학업스트레스가 높은 아동일수록 주의통제가 낮아지는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 주의통제가 높을수록 공격성이 낮아지는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 학업스트레스가 높을수록 공격성이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 학업스트레스와 공격성간의 관계에서 주의통제의 매개효과는 유의한 것으로 나타났다.
