        Gastric cancer (GC) is one of the most common malignant tumors worldwide, with a 5-year survival rate of < 40%. The diagnosis and treatment decisions of GC rely on human experts' judgments on medical images; therefore, the accuracy can be hindered by image condition, objective criterion, limited experience, and interobserver discrepancy. In recent years, several applications of artificial intelligence (AI) have emerged in the GC field based on improvement of computational power and deep learning algorithms. AI can support various clinical practices in endoscopic examination, pathologic confirmation, radiologic staging, and prognosis prediction. This review has systematically summarized the current status of AI applications after a comprehensive literature search. Although the current approaches are challenged by data scarcity and poor interpretability, future directions of this field are likely to overcome the risk and enhance their accuracy and applicability in clinical practice.

        식민지인의 형성Ⅰ一 『싱가포르 잡지 The Straits Chinese Magazine : A Quarterly Journal of Oriental and Occidental Culture』(1897) 중심으로

        The order of empire became the reference point of modernity, the empire was recognized as universally homogeneous, and other colonies were named and reproduced as heterogeneous realms. 'Asia' has become internalized others, Westerners, and has developed to form the present. For example, in response to the question whose point of view is the image of Asia reproduced as “Asian beauty,” it is often originated from the point of view of the West (re-Westernization through Japan), that is, the empire. Asia reproduced through the gaze of others in the modern era, and modernity reproduced by internalized others, made the present appearance over time. This article begins with a curiosity about how Asia was embodied, no matter arbitrarily or unintentionally, from a heterogeneous, but universal, and homogeneous perspective. The method of appropriating 'modernity', an external shock, is inevitably different for each country in 'Asia', and the various localities of Asia, which are not interpreted only as one-country history, are transnational from a transnational perspective beyond the boundaries of history. In particular, Singapore-Hong Kong-Taiwan tends to be re-filtered as a national-ethnic discourse under the name of 'Greater China', once again from the perspective of 'China'. However, these regions are faithfully drawing new territories within the national-nation paradigm and at the same time beyond national boundaries (transnational). Not just spatially, but ontologically, aesthetically, and politically. Therefore, I would like to examine the process of internalization of modernity forced by others in Asia and how colonists were formed in the process through the Singapore magazine <The Straits Chinese Magazine> (1897).

        한국자원공학회는 해방후 광업관련 협회로 활동하다 62년 한국광산학회로 새로 창립한 후 89년 현재의 자원공학회로 학회명을 바꿔 연구활동을 계속하고 있다. 현재 정회원만 1천1백70명인 한국자원공학회는 매년 6회의 학술활동과 격월로 학회지를 발행하고 있으며 작년 7월에는 한ㆍ일 공동 암반공학심포지엄을 열기도 했다.

        Thermal Effects on Wind Environment in a Street Canyon: Part 1. Upwind and Downwind Building Heating

        This study aimed to investigate the effects of building-wall heating on the wind environment and air temperature in a street canyon using numerical model of computational fluid dynamics (CFD). The differential heating effect was analyzed by varying the heating conditions of the upwind and downwind building walls. Results showed that heating the downwind building wall had a greater impact on the wind environment inside the street canyon than the upwind scenario. This caused the vortex to disappear and the flow to reverse, resulting in the dominance of updrafts within the street canyon. Furthermore, increasing the building-wall temperature led to significant changes in air temperature and wind components in the street canyon. The study also highlights the importance of considering solar movement and shadow formation in the analysis of wind environments in urban areas. Specifically, the inclusion of green systems and shadow formation can further enhance our understanding of the wind environment in cities. The findings provide a fundamental process for future research using CFD simulations, contributing to the development of sustainable urban design strategies aimed at improving the wind environment and air quality in urban areas. Overall, this study demonstrates the potential of building-wall heating to enhance the wind environment in street canyons, highlighting its significance in the design and planning of sustainable urban areas.

        Thermal Effects on Wind Environment in a Street Canyon: Part 2. Building Wall and Street Heating by Sunshine

        In this study, the effects of differential building wall heating area and street heating on in-canyon flow and air temperature were investigated using a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model, with a focus on the effects of solar heating. A comprehensive analysis and parameterization process was carried out using both the results from Part 1 of this study and the new findings presented in this paper. The heating conditions of the upwind and downwind building walls were based on the movement of the sun, and differential heating was examined by changing the temperatures of the street and building wall. Results show that differential heating of the downwind building wall had a greater effect on the wind environment inside the street canyon than the heating scenario of the upwind building wall, resulting in the dominance of the updraft in the in-canyon flow patterns. These findings emphasize the importance of various factors, including the differential heating of building components and changes in heating according to the diurnal solar movement and shadow formation, in analyzing the wind environment. The study provides an urban parameterization process for wind environment based on the application of green system and change in the position of the sun, which can be applied to actual urban areas to compare and evaluate various wind environments.

        해안지역 대규모 건축물 건설이 해륙풍에 미치는 영향

        This study evaluated the effects of large-scale buildings construction on sea-land winds in coastal area using a CFD model based on GIS data. The analysis included changes in horizontal and vertical flow and wind speed depending on adjustments to the height and wind-corridor of building facade. In sea wind conditions, the flow tended to converge behind the building (the downwind area of land) and vortices were formed around the building. The wind speed around the building weakened due to vortices and other influences, while it strengthened somewhat at the western boundary. Convergence and increased wind speed were more pronounced and affected a wider area behind the building when the building facade height was constant. In land wind conditions, the flow tended to converge on the sea (the downwind area of building), and the wind speed weakened around the building due to the formation of vortices. However, the wind speed increased somewhat on the sides of a building and the sea. Especially, the convergence and increased wind speed on the seaward side were more pronounced and covered a relatively wide range in buildings with a constant height of facade. It is also suggested that in actual construction, designs based on wind environment impact assessments should be considered, as adjusting the height and wind-corridor of buildings can alleviate changes in the wind environment. 본 연구에서는 GIS 자료를 기반으로 해안지역의 대규모 건축물이 해륙풍에 미치는 영향에 대하여 비교·평가하였다. 이를 위해, 대규모 건축물의 높이 조정 및 통경축에 변화를 CFD모델에 반영하고, 해풍 및 육풍 조건에서 수평 및 연직 바람성분과 풍속에 대하여 분석하였다. 대규모 건축물이 건설됨에 따라, 건물 주변에서는 와류 형성 등의 영향으로 풍속이약화되었다. 풍하측 지역에서는 수렴현상이 나타났으며, 해풍조건에는 육상, 육풍조건은 해상에서 나타났다. 이에 따라, 수평 및 연직 바람성분의 변화를 보였으며, 풍하측 지역과 건축의 측면부에서는 풍속이 다소 강화되었다. 특히, 수렴현상및 풍속강화현상은 건물 높이가 일정한 건축물에서 상대적으로 넓은 범위에 강하게 나타났다. 본 연구를 통하여, 대규모건축물 건설에 있어 건물의 높이 조정과 통경축을 고려한 외관은 풍환경의 변화를 완화시킬 수 있음을 확인하였으며, 실제 건설에 있어 풍환경 영향평가를 기반으로 한 설계가 필요할 것으로 생각된다.
