Development of Spot Welding and Arc Welding Dual Purpose Robot Automation System
이용중,김태원,이형우,Lee, Yong-Joong,Kim, Tae-Won,Lee, Hyung-Woo The Korean Society of Manufacturing Process Engine 2004 한국기계가공학회지 Vol.3 No.4
A dual purpose robot automation system is developed for both arc welding and spot welding by one robot within a cell. The need for automation of both arc welding and spot welding processes is urgent while the production volume is not so big as to accommodate separate station for the two processes. Also, space is too narrow for separate station to be settled down in the factory. A spot welding robot is chosen and the function for arc welding are implemented in-house at cost of advanced functions. For the spot welding, a single pole type gun is used and the robot has to push down the plate to be welded, which causes the robot positioning error. Therefore, position error compensation algorithm is developed. The basic functions for the arc welding processes are implemented using the digital I/O board of robot controller, PLC, and A/D conversion PCB. The weaving pattern is taught in meticulously by manual teach. A fixture unit is also developed for dual purpose. The main aspects of the system is presented in this paper especially in the design and implementation procedure. The signal diagrams and sequence logic diagrams are also included. The outcome of the dual purpose welding cell is the increased productivity and good production stability which is indispensable for production volume prediction. Also, it leads to reduction of manufacturing lead time.

The purpose of this study is to develop a practical image inspection system that could recognize it correctly, endowing flexibility to the productive field, although the same object for work will be changed in the size and rotated. In this experiment, it selected a fighter, rotating the direction from 30?to 45 simultaneously while changing the size from 1/4 to 1/16, as an object inspection without using another hardware for exclusive image processing. The invariant moments, Hu has suggested, was used as feature vector moment descriptor. As a result of the experiment, the image inspection system developed from this research was operated in real-time regardless of the chance of size and rotation for the object inspection, and it maintained the correspondent rates steadily above from 94% to 96%. Accordingly, it is considered as the flexibility can be considerably endowed to the factory automation when the image inspection system developed from this research is applied to the productive field.

On January 21, 2011, the Korean navy commandos rescued the twenty-one crewmenabducted and detained by Somali pirates in the Indian Ocean. The pirates capturedalive were brought to Korea for trial and the prosecutor’s office of Pusan sentencedthe leader of the Somali pirate group to life-imprisonment. The other four piratesreceived imprisonment terms from 12 to 15 years. Regardless of these domestic legalpunishments, this rescue operation has raised a few critical international legalquestions. The primary objective of this paper is to answer these questions. Thisresearch analyzes the international legal characteristics of the Korean Navy’s rescueoperation. Then, a few case-studies of military rescue operation are carried out inorder to justify the Korean Navy’s rescue operation. The Korean Navy’s rescueoperation may be regarded as an act of forcible self-help and realization of existinginternational legal right.

Although relationships among the former belligerent parties of the Korean War have changed drastically over the decades, the parties still remain under the armistice system because the Korean War is not over legally. The primary purpose of this research is to analyze questions related to the Chinese People's Volunteer Army in the Korean War from an international legal perspective. As a new topic, this is intended to be a precautionary examination of an issue that could haunt the eventual process of peacemaking on the Korean peninsula. The main text of this article consists of three parts. The first examines whether the Chinese People's Volunteer Army's entering the Yalu River was self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter. The second part covers various legal questions relating to armed hostilities in the Korean War under international law. The third part discusses the legal questions around an armistice negotiation.

In the consideration of the problem occurred by certain return bender brazing welding works that depend only on handworks, the automatization of the whole production line is impossible due to the high dependency of skillful workers. In addition, it is difficult to establish a standardization due to the various heat exchanger model and irregular amount of orders, and the fault reduction is also impossible due to the severe difference in brazing conditions. It is necessary to develop a method, which quantitively analyzes the problem existed in this manual )razing welding of return benders and technically solves that problem, and to lead the improvement of the productivity and cost reduction in order to increase the business competitive power. Then, this will contribute the technical development of automatic welding for Korea's heat exchanger businesses. Thus, this study develops an automatic technology, which automatically controls the flame strength using digital control methods, for various models and produces a sample model. It is possible to increase the productivity and produce uniformed and qualified products by solving the problem existed in manual processes using the developed automatic return bender brazing system. In addition, the brazing condition can be automatically controlled according to the model and line speed, and such an economical operation can reduce the production cost. The developed system is expected to future applications not only heat exchangers in the field of refrigeration and air conditioning, but also other various industrial fields that apply heat exchangers, such as car and boiler industries.

The objective of this development project is to localize an automatic molten metal supplier that has been distributed by WESTOMAT, Germany. throughout the world. To achieve this purpose, an energy-saving pressurized dosing furnace and molten metal differential pressure control system that is able to automatically supply a determined quantity of aluminum molten metal were developed. The localized equipment was installed in a site. Also, the results of the test operation of this equipment can be summarized as follows: It was able to improve the productivity because there were small decreases in supplying speeds and small losses in wastes compared to the existing mechanical molten metal supplier. Also, it was able to minimize the cost in maintenances due to the direct application of high temperature molten metals to molds. In addition, there were small energy losses due to the use of high thermal insulators compared to the existing reverberating furnace and able to prolong the life-time of furnaces and produce good quality nonferrous metals because it represented small carbon refractories and alumina in applied molten metals. Furthermore, it demonstrated no particular differences by objectively comparing it with the product by WESTOMAT.

The Proliferation Security Initiative was launched in 2003 by the Bush administration right after the So San incident. Its primary purpose is to interdict the spread of WMD and their delivery systems. Due to the provocative and challenging characteristics of the Initiative, which are inconsistent with conventional international law, there are some objections against the Initiative. This paper answers the highly topical questions regarding the Initiative in three parts. The first part addresses the origin and development of the Initiative. The second part critically analyzes the background of the Initiative such as the neoconservative ideology of the Bush administration and its world strategy, international terrorism, and the U.S. arms industry. The third part scrutinizes questions concerning the preemptive use of force for self-defense and the interdiction of foreign vessels on the territorial and high seas. The Initiative is also examined from a viewpoint of customary international law.
