The purpose of this study was to develop the suggestions for international tourism cooperation in Asia-Pacific region through APEC's role. The study reviewed the historical background and development process of APEC, and discussed about the basic principles of APEC's activities. Especially, the study focused on the role of APEC in the area of tourism Cooperation. Based upon the results of this review, five specific suggestions were developed for Korean tourism government and ist related actors as follows: 1. Active participation in APEC tourism cooperation program is more required. 2. Korean tourism's interests must be fully expressed. 3. APEC tourism cooperation program must be in active. 4. More opportunities for participation of tourism related actors must be open. 5. Internation tourism experts should be educated and prepared. The ultimate goal of this study was to find the ways international tourism develops through regional cooperation. APEC can be the answer in this line as the member contries share their beliefs and benefits.

The purpose of this study was to identify the Korean women's leisure perception and behavior. The related literature was reviewed focusing on the major concepts such as leisure importance, satisfaction, participation and constraints. The empirical survey was done with the sample of 186 married women. The major findings are as follows: · Korean women value the importance of leisure very high, but experience the relatively low satisfaction. · Korean women participate in the passive, inactive, and indirect activities. Watching TV, family activities, and personel time are the representative activities. · Korean women express leisure expenses and time as the major constraints, which means Korean women remain at the basic level of constraints to do their leisure activities. The above findings suggest Korean women's leisure require the social interest and public policy's approach. The further researches in this area are more needed for the theory building as well as the appropriate practice.

The purpose of this study was to develop the practical suggestions for Korean tourism business to establish the desirable consumer relation. In order to accomplish this purpose, the study reviewed the literature related to this topic and examined the current situations based on secondary data. As a conclusion, this study suggested two comprehensive strategies for Korean tourism business: (1) Consumer-oriented business ideology should be established: (2) Organized and managerial practice should be followed.

The purpose of this study were to identify how Korean newspapers perceive tourism system and to develop the practical suggestions for Korean tourism actors(e.g. tourist, tourism firms, government) to establish the desirable mass media relation. In order to accomplish these purpose, the study reviewed the literature related to this topic and analyzed the contents of the editorials in the major five Korean newspapers. As a conclusion, this study suggested three comprehensive strategies for Korean tourism actors: (1) Tourists should have appropriate tourism informations through newspapers and be able to ask for it ; (2) Tourism firms should develop mutually cooperative relation with newspapers and implement tourism awareness program ; (3) Government should recognize the social role of newspapers and establish the appropriate communication channels.

제주국제자유도시종합계획은 국제환경의 변화에 따른 대응전략으로서 동북아경제중심국가 구상을 위한 국가차원의 실천계획으로서의 의미를 지니며, 특히 국제관광시장에서 동북아관광 중심국가 건설을 위한 경쟁전략으로서의 중요성을 갖는다. 하지만, 제주국제관광자유도시 개발구상은 국가차원의 관광정책과 지역차원의 종합개발정책과의 조화와 갈등의 국면을 기본적으로 지닌다. 이에 대한 실천적 해결방안으로서 이해관계자간의 쟁점을 도출하고 정책과제를 제시하였다. 주요 과제로는 관광산업의 핵심전략화, 집중화 균형 개발정책의 조화, 분권적 기능유지 및 집권적 기능의 효율화, 지역기반 개발참여활성화, 지속가능한 개발기준 및 원칙의 설정, 계획집행의 평가계획 수립 및 협력적 참여확대 등이 포함된다. Jeju Free International City Plan(JEICP) is national action strategies to confront the changes of international environment. Especially, it has significant implications to the development of the Northeast Asia tourism hub. However, there remains harmony and conflict in that the JFICP has the meanings of both national tourism policy and regional comprehensive development plan simultaneously. Focusing on this point, the study attempted to find out the issues among interest groups, accordingly develop the agenda of national tourism policy. Six tourism policy agenda were specified: the development of core strategy for tourism development, the harmony between intensive and balanced tourism development, the efficient implementation of centralized function, the activation of community-based development and participation, the establishment of the standards and principles of evaluation plan and cooperative participation.

The purpose of this study was to find the ways to develop the cooperation between South and North Korea in tourism business. As a preparatory work, the study reviewed the recent situation of two Korea's communications and ties on this issue and analyzed the actual condition of North Korea's tourism policy, industry and infrastructure. Based upon the results of this analysis, four specific methods such as multistage approach, multilateral agreement approach, low-impact approach and government-supported approach were proposed. The study also presented the appropriate programs for each area which is considered as possible parts for two Korea's cooperation in tourism business. The ultimate aim of this study was to approach to the unification of Korean peninsula through tourism business cooperation. Therefore, the methods and goals of two Korea's cooperation in tourism field should be different from those of other countries. It also should be emphasized that state's profit and unification's value are equally important.
