        국립중앙박물관에서의 IPM 방안

        국립중앙박물관에 IPM(Integrated pest management) 방법을 도입하게 된 가장 중요한 이유는 보다 효율적이면서 경제적이고 안전한 해충 피해 방지를 위해서이다. 먼저 곤충 모니터링을 통해 현재 박물관의 해충분포 및 종류, 상태, 유입경로 등을 확인한 후 적합한 대책을 세워 보다 안전하면서도 합리적인 방제방법을 찾도록 하였다. One of the most important reasons why the method of IPM(Integrated pest management) was introduced to the museum is to prevent the damages by insects in the more efficient, economic and safer way. First, through monitoring the insects, the distribution, kinds, condition and inflow path of the insects should be confirmed, and then the safe and rational methods of prevention and elimination should be found in order to take more appropriate measures against them.

        Effects of Short-term Mobile Application Use on Weight Reduction for Patients with Type 2 Diabetes

        Background: The increasing prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) has led to a significant health burden. Technological advancements have highlighted the benefits of digital therapeutics for chronic diseases. In this study, we aimed to investigate the effects of a mobile application on weight reduction in patients with T2DM. Methods: A total of 48 patients with T2DM was included in this single-center, randomized, controlled trial. In addition to conventional treatment, participants in the intervention group used a mobile application-based self-management system for diet, exercise, and medication adherence. The primary outcome of this study was weight change after 3 months of intervention, and secondary outcomes were metabolic parameters. Results: After 12 weeks, no significant differences in body weight change were observed between the intervention and control groups (P=0.229). However, a significant difference was found in waist circumference (WC) between the two groups, wherein the control group showed an increase in WC (from 95.00±8.89 cm to 95.76±9.72 cm), while the intervention group showed a reduction (from 91.93±6.25 cm to 90.75±6.01 cm) with a significant time by group interaction (P=0.016). Additionally, participants with good compliance exhibited a more evident reduction in WC (P=0.037). However, no significant differences were found in other metabolic parameters between the two groups. Conclusion: Lifestyle modification using short-term mobile applications effectively reduced WC, especially in patients with good adherence to the application. However, weight reduction was not achieved.

        Measuring Environmental Efficiency of International Airports: DEA and DDF Approach

        This study measured the environmental efficiency of 21 international airports based on sustainability reports issued by each airport for 2018. As many sectors in the industry paid attention to social and environmental responsibilities, airport operators comprise one of the leading sectors that streamlined their facilities to become increasingly sustainable and environmental. Nevertheless, studies on the environmental operations of airports are insufficient compared with studies on economic or operational efficiency. Therefore, the current study aims to determine any possible improvement in the environmental inefficiency of airports with the utilization of directional distance function (DDF) and to examine operational efficiency with the application of the data envelopment analysis (DEA). The majority of airports have operated their facilities efficiently, but not all have effectively managed pollutants generated by airports. Furthermore, many airports can still potentially reduce CO2 and water consumption. This study suggests several implementable environmental improvementsto the aviation sector. Moreover, other industrial sectors may use the research as a benchmark for enhancing environmental efficiency.

        Hip Fracture Risk According to Diabetic Kidney Disease Phenotype in a Korean Population

        Background: Diabetic kidney disease (DKD) is associated with an elevated risk of fractures. However, little is known about the association between proteinuric or non-proteinuric DKD and the risk of hip fracture. Thus, we investigated the incidence of hip fractures among Korean adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) stratified by DKD phenotype. Methods: In this retrospective cohort study using the Korean National Health Insurance Service database, patients with T2DM who received at least one general health checkup between 2009 and 2012 were followed until the date of hip fracture, death, or December 31, 2018. We classified the DKD phenotype by proteinuria and estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), as follows: no DKD (PU−GFR−), proteinuric DKD with normal eGFR (PU+GFR−), non-proteinuric DKD with reduced eGFR (PU−GFR+), and proteinuric DKD with reduced eGFR (PU+GFR+) Results: The cumulative incidence of hip fractures was highest in the PU+GFR+ group, followed by the PU−GFR+ group and the PU+GFR− group. After adjustment for confounding factors, the hazard ratio (HR) for hip fracture was still highest in the PU+GFR+ group. However, the PU+GFR− group had a higher HR for hip fracture than the PU−GFR+ group (PU+GFR+: HR, 1.69; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.57 to 1.81; PU+GFR−: HR, 1.37; 95% CI, 1.30 to 1.46; PU−GFR+: HR, 1.20; 95% CI, 1.16 to 1.24 using the PU−GFR− group as the reference category). Conclusion: The present study demonstrated that DKD was significantly associated with a higher risk of hip fracture, with proteinuria as a major determinant.

        농구코치의 지도유형과 학생선수들의 훈련관리와의 관계 분석

        The purpose of this study was to examine the analysis of the basketball coach's leadership style and training management of student-athletes. To investigate the influence of the coach's leadership style, training management, and performance, the structural equation model analysis (SEM) verified the causal relationship between variables and the mediating effect of training management. First, there was a difference in perception of the coach's leadership style by the school level under the statistical significance. Second, the coach's instruction style and training management were partially affected. Third, basketball coaches did not have a significant effect on their performance. Fourth, training management had an effect on performance. Fifth, training management had a mediating effect in relation to the coach's instruction style and performance. Since they are student-athletes in adolescence, they are incomplete in terms of personality and athletic function. Therefore, they prefer coaching styles of systematic instructional behaviors such as training and instructional behaviors. The results of this study show that the influence of athletes on voluntary training management can improve performance, and further research is needed to guide student-athletes systematically. 본 연구는 농구코치의 지도유형과 학생선수들의 훈련관리와의 관계를 규명하기 위하여 중국 河南省에 위치한 중고등학교에 소속되어 있는 농구팀에서 활동하는 학생선수 총 200명을 대상으로 하였다. 농구코치의 지도유형과 학생선수들의 훈련관리와의 관계를 규명하기 위하여 구조방정식모형분석(SEM)을 통하여 변인들 간의 인과관계와 농구코치의 지도유형과 경기력의 영향관계에서 훈련관리의 매개효과를 검증하였다. 첫째, 소속에 따라 농구코치의 지도유형을 지각하는 것에는 통계적 유의수준 하에서 부분적으로 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 농구코치의 지도유형과 훈련관리는 부분적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 농구코치의 지도유형은 경기력에 정적인 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 훈련관리는 경기력에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 다섯째, 농구코치의 지도유형과 경기력의 영향관계에서 훈련관리는 부분적으로 매개역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 청소년기에 있는 학생선수들은 인성적으로나 운동 기능적으로도 미완의 상태이기 때문에 훈련과 지시행동과 같은 체계적인 지시행동의 지도유형이나 개인적인 관심을 가지고 소통형으로 지도하는 사회적 지지행동 유형의 코치가 선수들의 자발적인 훈련관리에 영향을 미쳐 경기력의 향상을 시킬 수 있다는 연구결과이며, 훈련관리는 경기력에 있어서 반드시 필요한 매개요인임이 증명되었다. 이와 관련하여 학생선수들을 체계적으로 지도할 수 있도록 지속적인 연구가 필요한 부분을 제언한다.
