Clustering Parts Based on the Design and Manufacturing Similarities Using a Genetic Algorithm

The part family (PF) formation in a cellular manufacturing has been a key issue for the successful implementation of Group Technology (GT). Basically, a part has two different attributes; i.e., design and manufacturing. The respective similarity in both attributes is often conflicting each other. However, the two attributes should be taken into account appropriately in order for the PF to maximize the benefits of the GT implementation. This paper proposes a clustering algorithm which considers the two attributes simultaneously based on pareto optimal theory. The similarity in each attribute can be represented as two individual objective functions. Then, the resulting two objective functions are properly combined into a pareto fitness function which assigns a single fitness value to each solution based on the two objective functions. A GA is used to find the pareto optimal set of solutions based on the fitness function. A set of hypothetical parts are grouped using the proposed system. The results show that the proposed system is very promising in clustering with multiple objectives.
복강경 담낭절제술 시행 후 퇴원 지연 사유에 대한 임상적 고찰

Purpose: Laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) has become the treatment of choice for most gallbladder disease. The aim of this study was to identify the factors related to extended hospital stay following LC. Methods: Between March 2005 and December 2007, 819patients underwent LC at our institution. Based on length of hospital stay (mean postoperative hospital stay was 3.7 days),patients were divided into two groups: group A staying for no more than 4 hospital days (715 patients) and group B staying for more than 4 hospital days (104 patients). The clinicopathologic characteristics, perioperative outcomes and hospital courses were retrospectively compared between the two groups. We also analyzed the causes of delayed discharge after LC. Results: Group A was younger than group B and there were significant differences between the two groups in terms of gender, comorbidity, ASA score, operation time, clinical symptoms, laboratory findings, and final diagnosis (p<0.05). Delayed discharge was mainly due to refusal of patients or relatives (13 cases), occurrence of perioperative complications (19 cases), severe inflammation of the gallbladder (13 cases)and abdominal discomfort of unknown origin (10 cases). Bile leakage occurred in 1 patient and he had the longest hospital stay. Conclusion: The causes of delayed discharge after LC were varied and were mainly associated with patients themselves. However, several causes were associated with the operative procedure and may be avoided by careful surgical approach.
Proton Transfer in Biomolecules Facilitated by Water: Quantum Chemical Investigations

We present a brief review for theoretical/computational studies of proton transfer processes of some simple biomolecules promoted by microsolvating water molecules. Focus is given on the relative stability of the canonical vs. zwitterionic forms of amino acids, tautomeric forms of the DNA base adenine, and the biologically active vs. inactive forms of nicotine. The biochemical implications of these findings are also discussed.
특1급 호텔 내 럭셔리 브랜드 매장 배경음악의 심리적, 신체적 태도가 소비자 행동의도에 미치는 영향

This research analyzes the behavior and reaction of consumers to the background music played in domestic luxury brand stores located within five star hotels. To this end, the background music was subdivided into psychological aspects and physical aspects to test the structural relationship among behavior intentions of consumers. Moreover, how background music can be applied and what measures are appropriate from the management viewpoint of five star hotels were studied. The analysis found the following results. First, in terms of the psychological attitude of background music played in stores, no statistical significance was found regarding stability, but it was found that emotion and diversity do make a significant influence on behavior. Second, in terms of the physical attitude, it was found that recommendations, adequacy and balance were factors that significantly influenced behavior. 본 연구는 국내 특1급 호텔 내 럭셔리 브랜드 매장에서 제공되는 배경음악에 대한 소비자의 행동의도 반응을 분석하였고, 이를 위해 럭셔리 브랜드 매장에서 제공되는 배경음악을 심리적인 측면과 신체적인 측면으로 세분화 하여 소비자의 행동의도 간에 구조적 관계를 분석하였다. 따라서 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 배경음악의 심리적 태도 요인에서 안정성은 통계적으로 유의하지 않은 것으로 나타났지만, 감정성과 다양성이 행동의도에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다. 둘째, 배경음악의 신체적 태도 요인에서는 추천성, 적절성, 조화성 등 모든 요인이 행동의도에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이를 바탕으로 특1급 호텔 내의 럭셔리 매장에서는 고객의 특성과 브랜드의 가치를 높일 수 있는 배경음악을 선정하고, 전략적으로 활용할 필요가 있음이 확인되었다. 또한 호텔 기업의 더 나은 브랜드 이미지 확립 및 글로벌 럭셔리 지수 향상의 실무적인 측면에서 그 가치를 높일 수 있을 것임을 시사한다.

자동차용 메타놀 연료는 석유파동 이후의 석유 대체연료라는 관점에 저공해 연료의 관점이 추가 되어 최근 그 도입에 대한 연구가 활발해지고 있다. 메타놀 자동차에 관해서는 종래의 기초검토 의 단계로부터 서서히 실용화를 향한 내구, 신뢰성을 포함한 많은 과제의 검토단계로 이행되고 있다. 수소엔진의 연구는 아직 초보단계에 있으며 안전성에 대해서는 일반이 염려하고 있는 것과 같은 위험성은 없지만 금후 자동차용으로서의 안전성에 관한 실험이 필요할 것이다. 수소의 장 점을 살려 결점을 없애기 위해서는 LH2탱크, LH2펌프 4사이클 실린더내 분사가 이상적으로 생 각되고 있다.
기계학습을 활용한 점토 특성에 따른 압축지수 예측 모델 비교

As the construction of large structures increases primarily on the soft ground along coasts, prevention of damage to the structures due to subsidence should be prioritized. Ground subsidence has been investigated actively. Because the amount of settlement can be calculated based on the compression index of clay, the latter must be calculated accurately. In this study, data pertaining to the natural water content, liquid limit, plasticity index, initial void ratio, and compression index of clay are acquired from Busan, Gwangyang, and Mokpo to construct a dataset for predicting the compression index. Correlation analysis between factors is performed using the dataset, and compression index prediction models are developed using machine learning algorithms, random forest, multiple linear regression, ridge, Lasso, SVM, XGBoost, LightGBM, and DNN. Subsequently, the results of each model are compared in terms of the RMSE and R2. The results show that the natural water content, liquid limit, plasticity index, initial void ratio, and compression index are correlated significantly. Among the machine learning models, LightGBM demonstrates the best performance. 해안가의 연약지반을 중심으로 대형 구조물 시공이 증가하면서 지반침하에 의한 구조물의 손상 방지에 주의를 기울여야 한다. 과거부터 지반침하에 관한 연구가 꾸준히 수행되고 있으며, 침하량은 점토의 압축지수를 통해 산정할 수 있으므로 압축지수를 정확히 산정하여 지반의 침하량을 예측하는 것은 매우 중요한 일이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 부산, 광양, 목포지역을 대상으로 점토의 자연함수비, 액성한계, 소성지수, 초기간극비, 압축지수의 데이터를 수집하여 데이터셋을 구축하였다. 구축된 데이터셋을 통해 인자들 사이의 상관분석을 실시하였으며, 기계학습 알고리즘인 랜덤포레스트, 다중선형회귀, Ridge, Lasso, SVM, XGBoost, LightGBM, DNN에 적용하여 압축지수 예측 모델을 제시하였다. 또한, 각 모델의 결과를 RMSE와 R2 평가지표로 선정하여 비교하였다. 그 결과, 자연함수비, 액성한계, 소성지수, 초기간극비와 압축지수는 높은 상관성을 나타냈으며, 기계학습 모델을 비교한 결과 LightGBM 모델이 가장 우수한 성능을 나타냈다.

Facility Layout Planning is concerned with how to arrange facilities necessary for production in a given space. Its objective is often to minimize the total sum of all material flows multiplied by the distance among facilities. FLP belongs to NP complete problem; i.e., the number of possible layout solutions increases with the increase of the number of facilities. Thus, meta heuristics such as Genetic Algorithm (GA) and Simulated Annealing have been investigated to solve the FLP problems. However, one of the biggest problems which lie in the existing meta heuristics including GA is hard to find an appropriate combinations of parameters which result in optimal solutions for the specific problem. The Ant System algorithm with elitist and ranking strategies is used to solve the FLP problem as an another good alternative. Experimental results show that the AS algorithm is able to produce the same level of solution quality with less sensitive parameters selection comparing to the ones obtained by applying other existing meta heuristic algorithms.
