HSPF 및 QUAL-MEV를 이용한 가뭄이 수질에 미치는 영향 분석

Drought, which has been increasing in frequency and magnitude due to recent abnormal weather events, poses severe challenges in various sectors. To address this issue, it is important to develop technologies for drought monitoring, forecasting, and response in order to implement effective measures and safeguard the ecological health of aquatic systems during water scarcity caused by drought. This study aimed to predict water quality fluctuations during drought periods by integrating the watershed model HSPF and the water quality model QUAL-MEV. The researchers examined the SPI and RCP 4.5 scenarios, and analyzed water quality changes based on flow rates by simulating them using the HSPF and QUAL-MEV models. The study found a strong correlation between water flow and water quality during the low flow. However, the relationship between precipitation and water quality was deemed insignificant. Moreover, the flow rate and SPI6 exhibited different trends. It was observed that the relationship with the mid- to long-term drought index was not significant when predicting changes in water quality influenced by drought. Therefore, to accurately assess the impact of drought on water quality, it is necessary to employ a short-term drought index and develop an evaluation method that considers fluctuations in flow. 최근 이상기후 현상으로 발생빈도 및 규모가 증가한 가뭄은 다양한 분야에서 극심한 문제를 유발하여 가뭄에 의한 물부족 발생 시 수생태 건강성 확보를 위한 합리적인 대응 방안을 마련하기 위해 가뭄 감시, 전망 및 대응기술 개발이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 유역모델 HSPF와 수질모델 QUAL-MEV를 연계하여 가뭄 기간 물 부족 상태가 수문 순환을 통해 변동되는 수질을 예측하였다. SPI, RCP 4.5 시나리오를 검토하고 HSPF 및 QUAL-MEV를 활용하여 유량변동에 따른 수질변화를 모의하여 유량변동에 따른 수질 변화를 분석하였다. 갈수기 유량과 수질의 관계는 높으나 강수량과 수질의 관계는 미비한 것으로 나타났다. 유량 및 SPI6는 상이한 경향이 나타나 가뭄의 영향으로 변화되는 수질 예측시 중장기 가뭄지수와 관계는 미비한 것으로 나타났다. 가뭄에 의한 수질 영향을 평가하기 위해 단기간의 가뭄지수 활용 및 유량 변동에 따른 평가방안 마련이 필요한 것으로 사료된다.

This paper summerizes the results of statistical works on duration of pregnancy and body weight of 991 cases of the newborns who were delivered at the Soo Do Medical College Hospital during the period of January, 1963 to May, 1965. Also included are placental weights and placental/fetal weight ratios. The results are as follows: 1) In full term deliveries, placentas weigh as much as 1/5 of the newborns and 653.5 grams on average. 2) In full term deliveries, placental coefficients is at 0.2040 on average. 3) Placental coefficients maintain high values up to 37th week of gestation, and become stable thereafter. 4) In 94% of 417 cases of full term and postmature deliveries, placental coefficients range between 0.14 and 0.26. 5) High placental coefficients(above 0.26) represents 27.1% of premature deliveries, and 2.9% of full term deliveries. 6) In term deliveries, placental weights among cases of high placental coefficients are 2 times heavier than cases of low placental coefficients, wheres fetal weights are less by 1/10 among the former than the latter. 7) In full term deliveries, fetal weights are 3198.8 grams on average. 8) Among 991 cases if deliveries beyond 37 th week of gestation about 50% of such deliveries are terminated at one week before or after 280 days of gestational age. 9) Average gestational age is 280.5 days among normal term deliveries.

Since tributaries have greater water quality variability than main streams, a comprehensive evaluation method that considers the effects of various parameters rather than one water quality parameter has been introduced for effective water quality management of tributaries, but the characteristic of the watershed is not considered. In this study, the urbanization rate, livestock excreta generation, and industrial wastewater discharge in the Hantan River middle-watershed classify urban and non-urban watersheds, and evaluate the suitability of water quality indexes by watershed characteristics by analyzing water quality characteristics and calculating CCME WQI, RTWQI, and NSFWQI. Factor analysis was used to understand the effect of water quality parameters used to calculate the water quality index on the water quality index results. As a result of the factor analysis, the relationship between CCME WQI, TC, and FC was derived, and the relationship between RTWQI and DO, SS in urban watersheds and NSFWQI and FC in non-urban watersheds was revealed. As a result of evaluating suitability through comparison with BOD and T-P grades, it was interpreted that the suitability of the water quality index was low in urban watersheds and that comprehensive water quality evaluation using RTWQI was possible in non-urban watersheds.
