Cu-Zn-Al 형상기억합금의 첨가원소에 따른 감쇠능의 변화

The effect of misch metal, Ti, Ni and Mn on damping capacity of Cu-Zn-Al shape memory alloys and the optimum heat treatment condition for high damping of the alloy have been studied. Specific damping capacity(SDC) of both Cu-Zn-Al alloys and the elements added Cu-Zn-Al alloys show amplitude dependence and increase with increasing maximum strain amplitude. Maximum SDC of the Cu-Zn-Al alloys are not dependent of composition, but nearly constant about 42% in the range of transformation temperature. Maximum SDC of the elements added alloys is, however, decreased a little but the step quenching and low temperature aging process is suitable heat treatment condition to increase in SDC of the elements added alloys.
청소년의 성별에 따른 Cortisol 분비의 일주기 차이 : 반복측정에 따른 Area Under the Curve 분석법 사용

Purpose : This study investigated the diurnal rhythm of cortisol in male and female adolescents. Methods : Salivary cortisol was examined in 52 normally developing subjects aged 13 to 14 years. Subjects provided saliva samples at 08:00h, 12:00h, 16:00h and 20:00h. Results : Males and females showed similar pattern of cortisol, which elevated cortisol in the morning and decreased in the evening. There were no differences of gender at 08:00h, 12;00h and 20:00h. There were also not difference between males and females using an area under the curve analysis. Conclusions : The same diurnal cortisol rhythm were found in male and female adolescents. Further research is needed to examine differences of gender in cortisol awakening response.

A three-year old intact female German shepherd dog weighing 32 kg was presented with the history of regurgitation and vomiting. Physical examination revealed a thin body condition, hoarse voice, hypersalivation, and pelvic limb weakness. In radiograph, megaesophagus was identified. The neostigmine challenge test was positive. The titer of acetylcholine receptor (AChR) antibody was 1.58 nmol/L (reference range, <0.6 nmol). Therefore, the dog was diagnosed to be suffering with chronic generalized form of acquired myasthenia gravis and followed by treatment with pyridostigmine bromide, 1 mg/kg, q12 hrs. Treatment improved the pelvic limb weakness, however intermittent regurgitation and vomiting persisted. This resulted in aspiration pneumonia for which antibiotics were administered. However, the dog was euthanized due to poor management and owner's request.

This experiment was conducted to find out the therapeutic effect of Artemisia capillaris extracts on hepatic damage in rats induced by carbon tetrachloride (CCl4). In this experiment, 96 Sprague-Dawley rats were used as experimental groups, which were divided into 4 groups; control group(A), CCl4-treated group(B), CCl4+Artemisia extract-treated group(C) and CCl4+silymarin-treated group(D). The B, C, D group were administrated single dose of CCl4(2.5ml/kg) to induce acute hepatic injury. C group was administrated with Artemisia capillaris extract(200mg/kg/day) and D group treated with silymarin(50mg/kg/day) for 7 days. Hematological, ultrasonographical, histological examinations and examination of antioxidant activity were also performed in all groups. AST and ALT activities of C group were significantly decreased compared with B group. The activities of AST and ALT in C and D groups returned to the normal range more rapidly than those of B group. In ultrasonographic examination, the echogenicity of liver in C group was significantly decreased compared with B group. Also C and D group had tended to recover faster than B group on liver histogram. Histologically, the percentage of degenerative regions and degenerative cell numbers in peri-central vein hepatic parenchyma of C and D group were significantly decreased compared with B group. In examination of lipid peroxidation, malondialdehyde of hepatic tissue in C group was decreased as compared with B group. In examination of antioxidant enzyme activity in liver, glutathione peroxidase and catalase activities were significantly increased compared with B group. As results of this study, it is thought that A. capillaris extract has therapeutic effects on hepatic injury induced by carbon tetrachloride, and has the similar therapeutic effects as silymarin in rats.
