This study deals with the distribution and morphological study of the neurons with the neuropeptide Y (NPY) in developing chick brain. The developing brains of Korean native chicks at embryonic days 8 (E8), E10, E12, E14, E16, E18, and E20 were used. The chicks were perfused with 4% paraformaldehyde through the left ventricle and aorta. The brains were removed and transferred into 30% sucrose, and then cut in a cryostat into $60{\mu}m$ in thickness. The sections were immunostained with free-floating and avidin-biotin complex (ABC) methods. The numerous neurons with NPY were first observed in nucleus rotundus of diencephalon at E8. In particular, neurons in nucleus rotundus had the well-developed processes. At E12, the neurons with NPY were distributed widely in diencephalon; nucleus septalis lateralis, medialis, nucleus magnocelluaris preopticus dorsalis, medialis, ventralis, nucleus preopticus medialis, nucleus dorsolateralis anterior thalami pars magnocellularis, and nucleus paraventricularis magnocellularis (paraventricular nucleus) except nucleus rotundus. From E12 to E20, positive neurons were oval-shaped, changed gradually into the spherical- and multipolar-shaped. The shapes of processes were also omnidirectional and the number of those were less than in telencephalon. As the chicks developed, the morphology of neurons with NPY showed the tendency to increase in their sizes and numbers.

As the multimedia application services have been getting various in Internet, need of multimedia database management system which can manage various multimedia information effectively has been increased. The multimedia application generally needs the features to store, manage, retrieve the multimedia data. We need a database management system framework that may be easily integrated with these features. This paper proposes th database management system framework providing the easy integration with various multimedia information retrieval. The framework uses OQL as the retrieval interface, so that user can use it easily. It can be integrated dynamically and easily with various multimedia retrieval method as a loosely coupled system. In addition there is no performance degradation caused in a loosely coupled system.

국내 건설재해율은 1992년 도입된 이후 현재까지 PQ에 '환산재해율' 반영 등을 통하여 건설재해 감소 및 건설업 안전관리 체제 구축에 기여하고 있다. 또한, 최근 정부가 도입 추진 중인 종합심사낙찰제에도 '재해율' 및 '사망만인율'이 평가항목으로 구성되어 입 낙찰제도의 그 영향력이 확대되고 있다. 그러나 현행 건설재해율은 입 낙찰제도에 따라 이원화된 기준으로 산정 및 운영되고 있는 실정이므로 현 시점에서 건설재해율 평가지표에 대한 현황 검토와 효율적 운영을 위한 방안이 모색될 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 건설업체의 재해관리 실무자를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여, 현행 건설재해율의 평가 운영에 대한 현황 검토를 통하여 문제점을 분석하고 그에 따른 개선방안을 제시하였다. 연구 결과, 건설재해율 평가지표의 일원화를 위한 산정기준, 평가대상업체 범위 설정, 건설업 공상처리 개선 측면에서의 개선방안을 제시하였다. 제시된 개선방안을 통해서 보다 효율적이고 합리적인 건설재해율 평가지표의 산정 및 운영이 가능할 것이며, 나아가 건설업체의 자율적인 안전보건 활성화 등을 통한 건설 재해 감소 효과를 기대할 수 있을 것이다. Since the introduction of the converted accident rate in Pre-Qualification(PQ) process in 1992, the safety evaluation system has contributed to a reduction of construction accidents and development of the safety management system in public construction projects. As the comprehensive evaluation method the government plans to introduce includes the indicators 'accident rate' and 'death rate per 10,000 workers', the influences on the safety evaluation in the bidding process would be broader in public sector construction projects. However, the current safety evaluation system is operated by different estimating standards in the bidding process. At this point, a study of improvement on the safety evaluation index is required to review its current conditions and to propose its efficient operating method. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze problems of the current safety evaluation system through the questionnaire survey on the qualified workers in construction safety management and to propose an improvement plan for the problems noticed. Our results suggest the standards of the unified process for the safety evaluation index, the size of construction firms needed for accident rate estimation, and the improvement plan for unreported accidents. The proposed improvement plan enables the reasonable estimation and efficient operation of the safety evaluation index, and further, it would contribute to reducing construction accidents through the activation of voluntary safety management by construction firms.
아가리쿠스로부터 분리한 $\beta$-glucan과 그 올리고당류의 HT-29 인체 대장암 세포에 대한 항암 활성에 관한 연구

[ $\beta$ ]-Glucans (AG) were prepared from Agaricus blazei cultured in the medium fortified with the roots of Pueraria spp. by repeated extraction with hot water, gel filtration chromatography and DEAE ion exchange chromatography. Oligosaccharides (AO) were derived from the hydrolysis of AG by an endo-$\beta$-(1$\rightarrow$6)-glucanase from Bacillus megaterium. The anti-HT-29 human colon cancer activity of AG or AO was investigated using MTT assay, apoptosis assay, cell cycle analysis, and cDNA microairay. AG and AO both inhibited proliferation and growth of HT-29 cells, and stimulated apoptosis of the cells in a dose-dependent manner. In cell cycle analysis, treating HT-29 cells with AG or AO resulted in the increase of cells in the G0 (sub-G1) and G1 phase. Especially, AO was more effective in inducing G0/G1 cell cycle arrest than AG. To screen the genes involved in the increase of apoptosis, the gene expression profile of the HT-29 cells treated with AO was examined by cDNA microarray. While several genes involved in cell cycle progression (CCND2 and CDK2) were down-regulated, many genes involved in apoptosis (TNFSF9, TNFRSF9, FADD, CASP8, BAD, CRADD, CASP9 etc), cell cycle inhibitor (CDKN2A), immune response (IL6, IL18, IL6R etc), and tumor suppressor (CEACAM1, TP53BP2, IRF1, and PHB) were up-regulated. These results suggest that AO could inhibit the proliferation and growth of HT-29 cells by G0/G1 cell cycle arrest and induction of apoptosis.
한국산 무우로부터 Far Migrating Anionic isoperoxidase A3 의 정제 및 성질

A far migrating anionic isoperoxidase, named A₃, was isolated from Korean radish (Raphanus sativas L.) root. Purification of the enzyme was accomplished by CM-cellulose chromatography, DEAF-Sephacel chromatography and Sephadex G-75 gel filtration. The enzyme was a glycoprotein having molecular weight of approximately 50,000 as determined by SDS-PAGE and Sephadex G-150 gel filtration and the pI value was 3.0. The optimum pH of the enzyme was 6.0 for guaiacol and H₂O₂and the Km values for guaiacol and H₂O₂ were 8 mM and 1 mM, respectively. Substrate studies with natural phenolic compounds were performed and their Km values were determined. In comparison with other Korean radish isoperoxidases, A₃ had higher affinity for esculetin. A particular interest is that the enzyme showed as sigmoidal substrate saturation curve against scopoletin despite of its single Subunit structure.

이벤트 기반 서비스 기술은 실시간으로 발생하는 이벤트를 감지하고 분석하여 이에 대한 반응으로 서비스가 연동되는 기술로, 실시간 기업 환경 구축이나 유비쿼터스 서비스 환경 구축을 위한 핵심 기반 기술이다. 실시간 기업 환경에서 요구되고 있는 기업내업무 프로세스에서 발생하는 다양한 정보를 실시간 모니터링, 분석하여 변화에 대한 신속한 대응을 제공하거나, 유비쿼터스 서비스 환경에서 상황에 맞게 적시에 맞춤형서비스를 제공하기 위해서는 이벤트 기반의 서비스 기술이 요구된다. 본 고에서는 이벤트 기반 아키텍처의 개념, 발전 방향 및 구성 요소에 대해 설명하고, 실시간으로 발생하는 대량의 이벤트를 처리하여 의미있는 상황 정보를 제공하거나 서비스를 연동하는 기술인 이벤트 스트림 처리 기술에 대해 살펴본다.

Purpose : The purpose of this study was to understand the relationship between workplace bullying, empathic ability, resilience, and job satisfaction to provide basic data for the development of programs and education aimed at improving nurses' job satisfaction. Methods : Data were collected through a structured questionnaire disseminated to nurses working in general hospitals. A total of 226 questionnaires were used for the analysis. We analyzed the data using descriptive statistics, an independent t-test, a one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and a stepwise multiple regression analysis. Results : Nurses' job satisfaction showed a significant positive correlation with empathic ability and resilience and a significant negative correlation with workplace bullying. Additionally, resilience, workplace bullying, empathic ability, religion, and the hope of moving to another department were significant factors affecting job satisfaction. The explanatory power of these variables for job satisfaction was 41.0%. Conclusion : To improve job satisfaction, a strategy to lower workplace bullying and increase empathic ability and resilience is necessary. The results of this study suggest the need for further research to develop educational programs for nurses to strengthen their empathic ability and resilience.
담배조직배양으로부터 isoperoxidase 의 분리 및 성질

Two anodic isoperoxidases, named isoperoxidase A₃ and A₄, were isolated from tobacco callus line, Nicotiana tabaccum L., var. Virginia 115. Isolation of the enzymes was accomplished using DEAE-cellulose ion exchange chromatography and Sephadex G-150 gel filtration. The molecular weight of isoperoxidase A₃ was approximately 38,000 as determined by SDS polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and 38,500 estimated with Sephadex G-150 gel filtration. The molecular weight of isoperoxidase A₄ was 43,000 as determined by SDS polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and Sephadex G-150 gel filtration. The optimum pHs for guaiacol with isoperoxidase A₃ and A₄ were pH 6.0 and pH 7.0, respectively, and these two isoperoxidases had same K_m value of 5 mM for guaiacol. Substrate studies with natural phenolic compounds such as scopoletin, esculetin, ferulic acid and chlorogenic acid were performed and the K_m values for these substrates were 0.18 mM, 0.24 mM, 0.26 mM and 0.35 mM, respectively, in case of isoperoxidase A₃. Such K_m values did not differ greatly from those of isoperoxidase A₄ from Virginia strain and known scopoletin peroxidase A_f from WR-132 strain. In comparison with isoperoxidase A₃ from W-38 strain and A_f from WR-132 strain which were known as scopoleticn peroxidases, these two enzymes from Virginia strain showed notable differences in scopoletin oxidizing ability in terms of relative substrate oxidation ratios.
Inhibitory Effect of Ore Minerals on the Allergic Inflammation in Mouse

The ore minerals, mainly composed of sericite, talc, and halloysite, were investigated for their inhibitory effect on the allergic inflammation in mice by measuring the serum IgE level, inflammatory cytokine production, and histamine and â-hexosaminidase releases. When the mice were ovalbumin (OVA)-challenged prior to the ore mineral treatment, the IgE level in the serum decreased significantly. The ore minerals significantly reduced the productions of IL-4 and the tumor necrosis factor-á in the bronchial alveolar lavage fluid challenged with OVA. The inflammatory infiltrates, found in the lung of the OVA-challenged mouse, were also notably decreased following the ore mineral treatment. The ore minerals significantly reduced the release of histamine and â-hexosaminidase from the RBL-2H3 cells. These results suggest that the ore minerals may be useful as potent inhibitors of the allergic inflammation in mice.
