Splenic tuberculosis is an uncommonly considered diagnosis in clinical practice. This is a case report of splenic tuberculosis in a 13-year-old boy who was seronegative to HIV. He was just well until 7 days prior to this admission when he started to feel epigastric and left subchondral pain. Chest X-ray was not pathological. Abdominal ultrasonography showed slight splenomegaly with multiple hypoechoic nodules and abdominal CT disclosed multiple irregular hypodense lesions in the spleen. Radiological interpretation suggested the possibility of lymphoma or metastatic malignancy. Splenectomy was done and the histopathological findings showed extensive chronic granulomatous inflammation compatible with tuberculosis. Splenic tuberculosis must be included in the differential diagnosis of hypoechoic and hypodense lesions by means of sonography and computed tomography, respectively.

The sacrococcygeal region is the frequent site for meningocele, congenital dermal sinus and pilonidal cyst. From May 1995 to July 1998, we have treated 8 neonatal patients with an abscess in the sacrococcygeal area. The mean age at onset was 8.3 days with a range from 6 to 11 days. The sex ratio was 5:3 with male preponderance. Mild fever was the only systemic symptom. Ultrasonogram revealed a slightly hypo echoic lesion in the subcutaneous tissue which became more hypoechoic with time. Pus cultures showed $Staph.$ $aureus$ in 7 patients, two of them had mixed infection with $E.$ $coli$ and other 2 had methicillin-resistant $Staph.$ $aureus.$ The remaining one patient had a mixed infection with $Klebsiella$ and $Proteus.$ Histopathological examination revealed non-specific granuloma and fibrinoid necrotic debris. All patients were easily treated by incision, drainage and proper antibiotics.

Two cases of trichobezoar with unusual presentation in female children are described. The first case is a 7-year-old female with a 3-day history of abdominal pain, obstipation, and emesis. She developed intestinal obstruction and showed double bezoars in the stomach and intestine respectively. She had been in a habit of biting or sucking hairs before sleeping from infancy until 5 years of age. The other patient is a 6-year-old girl referred for an epigastric mass, emotional disturbance and trichotillomania. In spite of the psychological treatment, 4 laparotomies were necessary due to repeated recurrences.
