Most modern computers or game consoles are well equipped with powerful graphics processing units (GPUs) to accelerate graphics operations. However, since the graphics engines in these GPUs are specially designed for graphics operations, we could not take advantage of their computing power for more general nongraphic operations. In this paper, we studied the GPUs graphics engine in order to accelerate the image processing capability. Specifically, we implemented a JPEC2000 decoding/encoding framework that involves both OpenMP and GPU. Initial experimental results show that significant speed-up can be achieved by utilizing the GPU power.
조선 산업에서 프로세스 마이닝을 이용한 블록 조립 프로세스의 계획 및 실적 비교 분석

본 논문에서는 조선 산업에서 블록 조립 작업에 대한 계획 프로세스와 실적 프로세스를 비교하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안한 방법은 계획과 실적 데이터 기반으로 프로세스 마이닝 기법을 이용하여 프로세스 모델을 도출하고 비교 분석을 수행하는데, 분석 절차는 1) 데이터 전처리, 2) 분석 수준의 정의, 3) 조립 블록 군집화, 4) 군집별 프로세스 모델 도출, 5) 계획과 실적 프로세스 모델 비교, 다섯 단계로 구성된다. 단계 5에서는 프로세스 모델, 작업, 프로세스 인스턴스, 모델 적합도와 같은 다양한 관점에서 계획과 실적의 프로세스를 비교할 것을 제안하고, 각 관점별 비교 인자들을 정의한다. 특히, 적합도 관점에서는 교차 적합도를 정의하여, 도출된 프로세스 모델에 대해 자신의 데이터에 대한 적합도뿐만 아니라, 상대 데이터(계획 모델의 경우 실적 데이터, 실적 모델의 경우 계획 데이터)에 대한 적합도를 계산하고 비교 분석할 것을 제안한다. 제안한 방법의 효용성은 세계 최고 수준의 국내 조선업체의 블록 조립 계획 시스템과 블록 조립 모니터링 시스템의 실제 데이터를 이용하여 사례 연구를 통해 설명하고 검증하였다. This paper proposes a method to compare planned processes with actual processes of bock assembly operations in shipbuilding industry. Process models can be discovered using the process mining techniques both for planned and actual log data. The comparison between planned and actual process is focused in this paper. The analysis procedure consists of five steps : 1) data pre-processing, 2) definition of analysis level, 3) clustering of assembly bocks, 4) discovery of process model per cluster, and 5) comparison between planned and actual processes per cluster. In step 5, it is proposed to compare those processes by the several perspectives such as process model, task, process instance and fitness. For each perspective, we also defined comparison factors. Especially, in the fitness perspective, cross fitness is proposed and analyzed by the quantity of fitness between the discovered process model by own data and the other data(for example, the fitness of planned model to actual data, and the fitness of actual model to planned data). The effectiveness of the proposed methods was verified in a case study using planned data of block assembly planning system (BAPS) and actual data generated from block assembly monitoring system (BAMS) of a top ranked shipbuilding company in Korea.
기업 경영자의 내면적 특성에 따라 ESG 활동이 내면윤리에 미치는 영향에 차이가 있는가?

This study conducted an empirical analysis to find out how the effect of ESG activities on the internal ethics may differ according to CEO s individual internal characteristics. In other words, the relevance between the influence of ESG activities on internal ethnics and CEO s individual internal characteristics was examined. The analysis uses the data from 2013 to 2018 year-data of 202 listed companies on the Korea Exchange(KRX). The findings of the empirical analysis are as follows: First, there was a significant positive(+) correlation between ESG activities and internal ethics. It means that a firm with higher ESG activities has better internal ethics. In other words, it suggests that ESG activities properly reflect the internal ethics of firms. Second, it was found that the effect of ESG activities on internal ethics may differ according to the internal characteristics of CEOs. Specifically, ESG activities of CEOs with higher realism tendencies increase internal ethics, whereas ESG activities of CEOs with higher optimism, certainty and activity tendencies decrease internal ethics. This suggests that ESG activities of CEOs with higher realism tendencies properly reflect internal ethics, but CEOs with high optimism, certainty and activity tendencies may use ESG activities as a tool for image management. This study can provide new empirical evidence for the discriminatory effect of ESG activities on internal ethics by examining the differences in the effects of ESG activities on internal ethics according to the internal characteristics of CEOs. In addition, specific empirical data on the internal characteristics of CEOs that can be used academically and practically by measuring the internal characteristics of CEOs in more detail through text analysis were presented.
조선 산업에서 프로세스 마이닝을 이용한 블록 이동 프로세스 분석 프레임워크 개발

In a shipyard, it is hard to predict block movement due to the uncertainty caused during the long period of shipbuilding operations. For this reason, block movement is rarely scheduled, while main operations such as assembly, outfitting and painting are scheduled properly. Nonetheless, the high operating costs of block movement compel task managers to attempt its management. To resolve this dilemma, this paper proposes a new block movement analysis framework consisting of the following operations: understanding the entire process, log clustering to obtain manageable processes, discovering the process model and detecting exceptional processes. The proposed framework applies fuzzy mining and trace clustering among the process mining technologies to find main process and define process models easily. We also propose additional methodologies including adjustment of the semantic expression level for process instances to obtain an interpretable process model, definition of each cluster’s process model, detection of exceptional processes, and others. The effectiveness of the proposed framework was verified in a case study using real-world event logs generated from the Block Process Monitoring System (BPMS).

BCI 기반 핵심 요소인 로봇 기술에 있어서, 인간 중심의 BCI 를 발전시키기 위해서는 인간의 음성이나 모션 인식 기술을 이용해서 로봇을 제어하는 단순 인터페이스가 아니라, 인간이 직접 로봇을 제어하는 인터페이스가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 fMRI 스캔을 하는 동안 마음속으로 움직이는 모습을 상상했을 때, 운동과 운동관련 영역에서 발생하는 뇌신경 기전으로부터 패턴을 추출해서 만든 입력 신호를 사용해서 인간이 생각하는 대로 로봇을 제어하는 인터페이스의 가능성에 대해서 연구하고자 한다. The robot technology is receiving attention in the field of brain-computer interface. But, it is limited to control the robot using the voice or motion recognition technology. Human being needs to control the robot for developing human centric-BCI. The input signals to control the robot were acquired from the motor and motor related voxels pattern during motor imagery. In our study, we try to study the possibility of the interface that controls the robot using the neural signals in brain.
조선 산업에서 프로세스 마이닝을 이용한 조립 블록 군집화

This paper proposes a new clustering and operation analysis method for assembly blocks based on process mining techniques suitable for the shipbuilding industry. The approach consists of four steps: 1) trace clustering from the task perspective, 2) trace clustering from the work shop perspective, 3) definition of new clusters considering task and work shop simultaneously, and 4) comparison of new clusters with existing clusters. To compare between new and existing clusters, we also define comparing groups, and then conduct the qualitative analysis using discovered process model and quantitative analysis by evaluation index. The output of clustering and operation analysis can be used for production planning such as resource allocation and operation scheduling for assembly blocks. The effectiveness of the proposed method was verified in a case study using real event logs generated from Block Assembly Monitoring System (BAMS), an information system.
