In this study, we isolated, characterized, and compared the vasa homologous genes of diploid and triploid Paragonimus westermani and localized VASA homologous proteins in both lung fluke types. Open reading frames of Pw-vasa-2n and Pw-vasa-3n were of 1812 bp, and encoded deduced proteins of 622 amino acids with calculated molecular weights of 69.0 kDa and 68.9 kDa and pI's of 9.11 and 9.03, respectively. A comparison of these two VASA deduced protein sequences showed that only 6 of the 622 amino acids differed. The deduced sequences of Pw-VASA-2n and Pw-VASA-3n contained eight consensus sequences characteristic of the DEAD-box protein family and their N-terminal regions contained four arginine-glycine-glycine (RGG) motifs. These two lung fluke VASA-like proteins were more similar to those of other VASA proteins than to those of other DEAD-family proteins isolated from several organisms (planarian, zebra fish, mouse, and human). vasa homologous gene transcription and VASA protein expressions in triploid type lung flukes was slightly stronger than in the diploid type. Immunostaining showed that testes and a portion of the ovaries of both diploid and triploid lung flukes reacted strongly to anti-Pw-VASA antibody.
Phylogeny of Mite Taxa (Acari : Sarcoptiformes) Based on Small Subunit Ribosomal RNA Sequences

We analyzed the phylogenic relationships of 23 partial 18S rDNA sequences of 22 species (1 species has 2 strains) belonging to Sarcorptiforms include 4 new sequences, using several tools. Although geographic distributions are quite far from, sequence similarity of two strains of Dermatophygoides pteronyssinus isolated from Japan and New Zealand were very high. This result suggests that mite migration by animals including human occurred in the two continents. We investigated the Endeostigmata taxonomic relationship between the Prostigmata and Oribatida subgroups using small fragments (340-400 bp) of their 185 rDNA sequences. But Endeostigmata was not grouped with Oribatida or Prostigmata. In conclusion, it is first reported phylogenic relationship for classified mites included in Sarcoptiformes using 185 rDNA sequence analysis and its system is a very powerful tool for classification of mites.

최근 스마트 모바일 기기의 급속한 보급 및 무선 네트워크의 실용화에 따라 사용자가 언제 어디서나 편리하게 사용할 수 있는 컴퓨팅 환경의 제공이 가능해졌고 이에 따라 차세대 컴퓨팅으로서 휴대형 PC가 실용화될 전망이다. 차세대 휴대형 PC에서는 지금까지의 시각, 청각에 의한 인터페이스 외에도 촉각, 후각, 미각과 같은 인간의 오감을 통한 실감형 서비스를 제공할 수 있는 인터페이스가 등장할 것으로 예상된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 사용자 중심의 실감형 인터페이스를 구현하기 위하여 인간의 오감 가운데 기억과 밀접한 관계가 있는 후각정보를 기반으로 이를 표현하고 재생하는 기술에 관하여 살펴본다. With the rapid spread of smart mobile products and practical use of wireless network, it became possible to offer the computing environment people can use anytime anywhere and it is predicted that portable computer as the next generation computing is to be put to practical use. This computer will be expected to have the new interface which provides realistic service through human's five senses as well as the interface through the visual and auditory senses. Accordingly, in this study, we are going to talk about the technology that expresses and reproduces what is based on olfactory information - closely related with memory among honan's five senses - in order to embody the lifelike user interface.
갑상선절제술을 시행 받은 고령의 갑상선암 환자의 임상적 특징에 대한 고찰

Purpose: This study analyzes the clinical characteristics of thyroid cancer patients over 70 years of age following thyroidectomy. We identified the differences among previous studies and investigated the significance of thyroidectomy for elderly thyroid cancer patients. Methods: Information was abstracted from the charts of fifty-six patients treated during the period of Jan. 1995 to Dec. 2015. The abstraction included gender, age, surgical method, location with size of the main lesion, extent of lymph node metastasis, pathological features, gene mutation, complication, stage and most recent visit. Results: Our study showed a frequent occurrence (96.4% of the study group) of papillary thyroid cancers in elderly patients. There were three cases of postoperative complications. None had recurrence, and there was only one death due to complications of pneumonia. There were 11 advanced cases of cancer stage IV. Conclusion: Previous studies show that postoperative prognosis of elderly thyroid cancer patients is favorable. Average life expectancy is rising in South Korea, and therefore, the number of elderly thyroid cancer patients is increasing. Our study is meaningful in that it confirms the results of previous studies by surveying elderly patients over a 20 year period. It is deemed necessary that thyroidectomy be performed on elderly patients.
확장된 공기 횡단 유동장에서의 액적 거동 특성에 관한 연구

In this study, the breakup characteristics of droplet were studied with two fuels, diesel and soybean oil in extended air cross-flow field. In order to obtain the digital images of the droplet behavior, the experimental apparatus was composed of the droplet generator and the droplet visualization system. The monodisperse droplets were produced by using the vibrating orifice according to the Rayleigh's theory. The visualization system consists of a long distance microscope, a spark lamp, and a digital camera. The air cross-flow field was made by air nozzle. Previous researches used an air nozzle with diameter of 2mm. But in this condition, the exposure time to air flow field is not enough for a droplet to be fully deformed. because the penetrating length through the air flow is too short. Therefore in this study, the air nozzle with diameter of 4mm was used.

23 independent public kindergartens in the Chungbuk area were surveyed and a floor plan analysis of the survey results was conducted. Results of the analysis show that classroom sizes are currently based on designs of 8x8, 8x7.5. The kindergartens serve as learning space for 3-year-old, 4-year-old, 5-year-old and 6-year-old children, and is also a place where these children take special classes. Thus, there is a need to take into consideration the differences in physical conditions of children aged between 3 and 6 years, and adjust classroom size accordingly. Future research to support and expand on this area is required.
