"바른말 고운말" 교실 웹기반 학습시스템 개발 및 적용

        윤희수,김동호,Yoon, Hee-Soo,Kim, Dong-Ho 한국정보교육학회 2004 정보교육학회논문지 Vol.8 No.2

In accordance with wide spread of personal computer and the expansion of network access, the use of internet has been popular and communication by text message is much more normal than that of voice and image. Accordingly, the side effect of communication language brings about gap between diverse social class, the isolation of communication between generations, abusive expressions, obstacles of juvenile mental development and so on. It appears by the form of slang and vulgar word and has a negative effect on education of mother tongue and usage of children's real language. To deal with these problems, we developed new web-based education system through the analysis of learners' requirement; "Barun Mal, Goeun Mal class". So we verified its efficiency to apply to real class. We also found that this system increased the learners' interest and educational effectiveness. Also, this system contributed to the proper use of language.

유치원장의 건강과 일: 유치원장의 갱년기 증상이 유치원 운영에 미치는 영향을 중심으로

윤희수 ( Yoon Heesoo ),문성제 ( Moon Sungje ),최만규 ( Choi Mankyu ) 한국보건사회연구원 2017 保健社會硏究 Vol.37 No.3

Meanings of words and grammatical constructions of a language reflects the culture of the society or nation in which the language is used The ways of communication of an individual are dependent on the cultural models or norms of the society or nation in some way or another, and cannot be free from them. This paper explores some effects of cultural models on the grammaticality of some expressions, especially, on some words, grammatical constructions, and word orders. In Chapter 2, the relationship between cultural models and meanings of words is analyzed, and the true understanding of a lexical item cannot achieved until the true understanding of its related cultural-specific model. Chapter 3 deals with the effect of cultural models on grammatical constructions in some languages. It is revealed that cultural models have direct effect on the grammaticality of grammatical constructions. In Chapter 4, the theory of yin and yang, and the theory of the five elements in China are explained and their influence on some word orders are considered. In general, the theory of yin and yang, and the theory of the five elements have some influence on some word orders. But be it noted that their influences are less on Korean native words than on those which have originated from Chinese.

자연과 하나 되기의 가능성과 한계 : 매리 올리버의 생태주의적 상상력에 관한 연구

        윤희수(Yoon Hee-Soo) 새한영어영문학회 2010 새한영어영문학 Vol.52 No.4

This paper aims to examine Mary Oliver’s ecological visions by analyzing her poems, mostly from American Primitive(1983) and Dream Work(1986). In this process, we can see how she attempts to (re)connect the rupture between man and nature and self-consciously reveals the limitation of being one with nature at the same time. Oliver’s ecological projects start from her recognition of the split between man and nature. In “One or Two Things,” Oliver convinces us of human shortcomings by contrasting “prefectly” unrestrained movements of a butterfly and men’s artificial struggle to love their lives. “The Turtle” further widens the gap between man and nature by showing that everything in nature is tied to each other “by an unbreakable string,” while the speaker remains only an observer and imaginer. Oliver also shows her willingness to be one with nature by losing herself “on the black/ and silky currents” of nature in “White Night,” going back to the primeval state of life in “The Sea,” and moving around nature as a bear in “August.” These poems remind us of the congenial aspiration of Theodore Roethke to find the interconnectedness between man and nature. And they also differentiate her ecological visions from those of Gary Snyder who requests himself to show humility toward nature by subduing human desire to confine it in language. By contrast, her poems frequently adopt personification and pathetic fallacy which are not free from anthropocentric perspectives. However, Oliver does not persistently cling to her longing for interconnection. She also reveals her self-consciousness on the limitation of her ecological visions by recognizing in “The Gardens” the existence of “the unseen,” “the unknowable center” beyond human preception, and by repeatedly using “as though” in “Landscape” which weakens the possibility of being one with nature.

미국 원주민 시의 생태주의적 지향성에 관한 연구 : 조이 하조(Joy Harjo)의 시를 중심으로

        윤희수(Yoon Hee-Soo) 한국외국어대학교 외국문학연구소 2006 외국문학연구 Vol.- No.22

This paper aims to examine ecological thoughts of Creek Indian Joy Harjo's poetry and the ways in which the thoughts relate themselves to the history of colonizing Native Americans by European Americans armed with Christianity and English as the vicious tools of colonization. Harjo launches her ecological reflections with the diagnosis of the disconnection between man and nature facing the highly modernized American society. A prose poem, "The Flood" laments the disappearance of the mysterious watersnake in the age of reason, which in turn symbolizes the lost wildness of man disconnected from nature. Harjo argues that another culprit causing the disconnection is "the enemy's language," English. According to her, the English language denies anything other than that based on the European soul and consequently transforms the perceptions of indigenous people who regard nature as "something alive with personality, breathing, alive with names, alive with events." "What Music" and "Backwards" deal with the poisonous effects of the European rationalism represented by the English language. As a way of bridging the rupture between man and nature, Harjo suggests that we listen to the voice of the land alive with the myths, histories, and events of the past. However, looking back to the past does not mean the nostalgia with which Native Americans try to heal the deep psychological scars left in the process of colonization. Leaning towards the past is rather an active way of looking into the ecological crisis of the present world and finding clues to how man can recover the original harmony with nature. For a close examination of the ways in which the past can be related to the future of human existence, the following poems are analyzed in detail: "For Alva Benson, and Those Who Have Learned to Speak," “Anchorage," "Song for the Deer and Myself to Return on," "Remember," "Skeleton of Winter," "We Must Call a Meeting" and “Bird."

        영문법에서 격식체와 비격식체

        윤희수(Yoon,Hee-Soo) 한국문화융합학회 2017 문화와 융합 Vol.39 No.2

The purpose of this study is to explore the differences of formality and informality in thirteen areas in English grammar. Since there has been a lot of research about formality and informality in English vocabulary, but there has not been any systematic research about formality and informality in English grammar, this paper analyzes formality and informality in relative clauses, verb tenses, conjunctions, modals, quantifiers, passive constructions, prepositions, gerunds, subjunctives, and subject-verb agreement based on English grammar data. To perform such analyses previous research about formality and informality was done, after which formality and informality in the above-mentioned areas in grammar were addressed. Through this research, the differences of formality and informality in the above-mentioned areas can be found and some sentences which has been grammatically wrong come to be known to be informal ones. It is also found out that there are fuzzy phenomena in formality and informality, for example, more formal and less formal, as well as the dichotomy of formality and informality. Students must be taught formality and informality in English grammar. Also, they must be taught how to use formal and informal sentences according to a given situation.

        『월든』의 생태주의적 지향성에 관한 연구

        윤희수(Yoon Hee-Soo) 새한영어영문학회 2001 새한영어영문학 Vol. No.

This paper aims to examine the ecological orientation of Walden, the best-known work by Thoreau. The study will clarify the reason why Walden, founded upon ecocentric view of nature rather than Emerson's anthropocentric one, should be regarded as one of the canonical works in American ecological writing. The reluctance of some critics, including Karl Kroeber, to accept Thoreau as a deep ecologist is based on two reasons. First, Thoreau's focus on nature is a means of purification of the self through a sensual and intellectual confrontation with nature, which means he does not observe and write for others. Second, he is basically a faithful apostle of Emerson who holds a man-centered transcendental view of nature. A close reading of Walden, however, puts the validity of this pejorative view into doubt because the work shows us his deep ecological consciousness founded upon biocentrism which examines the possibility of human existence in harmony with nature. The ecological orientation of Walden is first substantiated through Thoreau's harsh criticism of commercial farming exclusively pursuing human interest and consequently destroying nature. To overcome this human avarice, he suggests the simplicity of life based on self-constraint. Thoreau's ecological inclination also comes from his humble recognition that man is but part and parcel of nature which proves its great life force through the thawing "sand foliage" for instance. Furthermore, using hoeing as an analogy, he seeks for the possibility of an ecological writing which aims to reveal nature as it is rather than impose artificial meanings on it.
