Electron Microscopy of the Intercellular Junction of Frog (Rana temporaria) Skin

개구리(Rana temperaria) 상피조직의 세포간 접착부위를 전자현미경으로 관찰하였다. 새로운 절편방법을 시도하여 동 부위의 초미세구조를 밝혔으며, 세가지 세포간간 접착방법중 하나인 데스모솜(Desmosome)은 상피세포 원형질막을 따라 절서있고 빈번하게 배열되어 있음을 처음으로 밝혀냈다. 본 연구 및 관찰결과와 관련하여 피부 암세포의 성장기 전 과의 관계를 논의하였다. Electron microscopy on the skin of young frogs, Rana temporaria, has been carried out with particular reference to cellular attachment sites. For the first time now several technical developments allow a more detailed visualization of the fine structure within the cellular attachment sites as well as making it possible to show the ultra-structural morphology of the junctional complexes, and to demonstrate that the desmosomes are regularly distributed aroand each skin cell, especially in the S. granulosum. The relations of these findings to these of previous investigations concerning the functional, organization of the junctional complexes and to the findings in skin cancer from a cellular adhesion view point have been briefly discussed.

감초 줄기 부산물을 이용하여 화학독성 물질인 카드뮴의 제거 특성

중금속 중에서 카드뮴은 다양한 산업 활동에 의하여 강이나 호수와 같은 수중 시스템에 배출되며, 특히 카드뮴 이온은 높은 이동성과 분해가 어렵기 때문에 잠재적인 독성 금속으로 밝혀졌다. 그리고 카드뮴은 제련, 전기도금, 도료, 합금제조 등의 산업 공정에서 배출된다고 알려졌다. 또한 사람들에게 카드뮴의 만성적 노출은 신장 기능 장애를 유발시키며, 긴 반감기를 갖는다고 보고되었다. 최근들어 농업 폐기물과 다양한 사업에서 유래된 바이오차는 친환경적인 물질로서 많은 연구자들의 관심을 받고 있다. 본 연구에서는 한약재 부산물로서 감초 줄기를 재활용하고자 바이오차를 제조하였으며, 제조된 감초줄기 바이오차를 생물흡착제로 사용하여 수중에 용해된 카드뮴 이온을 효과적으로 처리하는 기술을 개발하고자 하였다.

신용카드 매출정보를 이용한 SVM 기반 소상공인 부실예측모형

The small & micro business has the characteristics of both consumer credit risk and business credit risk. In predicting the bankruptcy for small-micro businesses, the problem is that in most cases, the financial data for evaluating business credit risks of small & micro businesses are not available. To alleviate such problem, we propose a bankruptcy prediction mechanism using the credit card sales information available, because most small businesses are member store of some credit card issuers, which is the main purpose of this study. In order to perform this study, we derive some variables and analyze the relationship between good and bad signs. We employ the new statistical learning technique, support vector machines (SVM) as a classifier. We use grid search technique to find out better parameter for SVM. The experimental result shows that credit card sales information could be a good substitute for the financial data for evaluating business credit risk in predicting the bankruptcy for small-micro businesses. In addition, we also find out that SVM performs best, when compared with other classifiers such as neural networks, CART, C5.0 multivariate discriminant analysis (MDA), and logistic regression.

전례에서의 침묵의 형태들 - 제2차 바티칸 공의회 이후의 전례서에서의 침묵 -

사람들은 흔히 대화를 잘하기 위해서는 먼저 잘 들어야 한다고 말한다. 그런데 잘 듣기 위해서는 자신의 입을 다물고 귀를 기울여 상대방의 말에 집중해야 한다. 이러면서 자연스럽게 ‘침묵’으로 들어간다. 이러한 단순한 말하지 않음에서 오는 침묵이 있고, 내적인 깊은 묵상으로 이끄는 침묵이 있다. 전례에서의 침묵은 이 두 단계를 모두 말하고 있다. 그리고 다양한 침묵의 형태들을 드러낸다. 전임교황이신 베네딕토 16세는 2012년 홍보주일 담화문에서 “침묵과 말씀, 복음화의 길”이라는 주제로 풀어가고 있다. 참되고 보다 적극적인 소통은 바로 “침묵”을 통해서 이루어질 수 있으며 또한 “침묵”은 복잡하고 다양한 자극과 정보들 사이에서 올바른 성찰과 식별로 이끌어 준다고 강조하고 있다. 특히, 전례에서의 침묵은 베네딕토 교황께서 말씀하신 침묵의 모범을 드러내주고 있다. 제2차 바티칸 공의회 이후의 쇄신된 전례예식서들에서 전례침묵은 중요한 자리를 차지했다. 이는 전례에 신자들이 능동적 참여를 하도록 이끄는 요소 중에 하나임을 전례헌장(Sacrosacntum Concilium)이 30항에 명시함으로써 가능했다. 전례침묵은 이제 전례의 본질적인 기본 요소 중에 하나로써 구원의 신비를 드러내는 데 큰 역할을 하고 있다. 전례거행의 준비와 과정, 그리고 마무리까지 침묵은 전례전체에 적절하게 배치되어 신자들의 능동적인 참여를 이끌어준다. 침묵은 정신을 집중하게 하고, 말씀과 기도를 내재화하게 하며, 들은 것을 묵상하도록 한다. 더 나아가 우리의 주님을 경배하는데 도움을 준다. 침묵은 무조건 많이 한다고 길게 한다고 좋은 것은 아니다. 전례거행의 흐름에 알맞은 길이로 적절하게 배치되어야 한다. 그리고 사목자들은 신자들에게 침묵에 대한 의미와 중요성을 교육하여야 한다. 거룩한 침묵을 통해 능동적 참여를 준비한 그리스도교 공동체는 전례거행에서 그리스도의 현존을 더욱 잘 느낄 수 있으며 “교회의 활동이 지향하는 정점이며, 동시에 교회의 모든 힘이 흘러나오는 원천”(전례헌장 10항)으로써의 전례의 본 모습을 드러낼 수 있다. It is often said that the ability to listen carefully makes a good communication. To listen carefully, we need to stop talking and pay full attention to what is being said. In this way we fall into ‘silence.’ This silence results from a mere absence of words, while there is also a silence that leads one to deep contemplation. Silence in liturgy includes both grades of silence, revealing various kinds of silence. In the message of His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI for the 46th world communications day entitled “Silence and Word: Path of Evangelization”(2012), the Emeritus Pope insisted that “silence” makes it possible to foster genuine and more active communication. He also emphasized that “silence”leads us to proper reflection and discernment in the face of various types of stimuli and data. Silence in liturgy, in particular, is a good example of what Pope Benedict mentioned. Since the liturgical reforms of the Second Vatican Council was implemented, silence has played a critical role in liturgy because Sacrosanctum Concilium(SC) no. 30 makes clear that silence is one of the major elements to promote active participation of the laity. As one of the essential elements in liturgy, silence is a great way of revealing mystery of salvation. Thus, silence should be observed at the appropriate times within the liturgical celebration to help the faithful to foster active participation. Silence enables them to concentrate on the liturgy, internalize God’s word and prayers, and contemplate on what they have heard. Furthermore, it helps them to worship the Lord. Long silence is not always recommendable. The length of silence should be properly decided to support the flow of liturgical celebration, while the meaning and importance of silence should be taught to the faithful. When Christian communities are ready for active participation through sacred silence, they are able to experience the presence of Christ and to reveal the essence of the liturgy; “the liturgy is the summit toward which the activity of the Church is directed; at the same time it is the font from which all her power flows” (SC no. 10).
