Epidural steroid therapy for herpes zoster associated pain is known to be effective with rare complications. However, certain amount of epidurally-injected steroid may be absorbed and affect endocrinological system. Specially, triamcinolone acetonide has high affinity for progesterone receptors and may influence mensturation. We report a case of a postmenopausal women treated with 40 mg of epidural triamcinolone acetonide twice with a two week interval and followed a large amount of uterine bleeding. ZnO:Al 박막은 산소 압력을 조절한 두 번의 증착 과정을 이용하여, DC 펄스 마그네트론 스퍼터링 방법에 의해 증착되었다. 시드막은 다양한 Ar/$O_2$ 압력비에서 증착되었으며, 벌크막은 순수한 Ar가스를 사용하여 증착되었다. 시드막 증착시 산소 압력이 증가함에 따라, 결정성과 (002) 배향성의 정도는 증가했다. 비저항은 시드가 없는 샘플의 경우 $4.7\times10^4\Omega{\cdot}cm$ cm로부터 Ar/$O_2$ = 9/1 샘플의 경우 $3.7\times10^4\Omega{\cdot}cm$까지, 결정성의 증가와 함께 점차 감소했다. 에칭된 표면은 분화구 형상의 구조를 보여주었으며, 급격한 형상 변화가 결정성 증가와 함께 나타났다. Ar/$O_2$= 9/1 조건의 샘플은 500 nm 에서 88%의 매우 높은 haze 수치를 보여주었으며, 이는 AFM 이미지에서 보여지는 것처럼 큰 표면 구조 크기에 의해 설명된다. ZnO:Al films were deposited by DC-pulsed magnetron sputtering using a two-step process involving the control of the oxygen pressure. The seed layers were prepared with various Ar to oxygen flow ratios and the bulk layers were deposited under pure Ar. As the oxygen pressure during the deposition of the seed layer increased, the crystallinity and degree of (002) texturing increased. The resistivity gradually decreased with increasing crystallinity from $4.7\times10^4\Omega{\cdot}cm$ (no seed) to $3.7\times10^4\Omega{\cdot}cm$ (Ar/$O_2$ = 9/1). The etched surface showed a crater-like structure and an abrupt morphology change appeared as the crystallinity was increased. The sample deposited at an Ar/$O_2$ flow ratio of 9/1 showed a very high haze value of 88% at 500 nm, which was explained by the large feature size of the craters, as shown in the AFM image.

We are reporting the case of a 56-year-old female patient who presented with headache, nausea, and vomiting. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed a homogeneous enhancing mass on the left frontal lobe. Based on the impression of a convexity meningioma, surgical treatment was planned, and intravenous (IV) steroids were administered to alleviate brain edema. Additional brain MRI was performed just before surgery for intraoperative navigation, which showed a significant reduction in tumor size. Due to the good response to IV steroids, we suspected that the tumor might be a differ-ent lesion rather than a meningioma, and thus, we proceeded with surgery for histologic diagnosis. Intraoperative findings revealed a whitish-gray, rubbery tumor adhering to the dura and arachnoid membrane, which was removed, and intraoperative frozen biopsy reported lymphoma. Finally, the patient was diagnosed with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. This case report highlights the impor-tance of considering lesions that may be responsive to steroids and the imaging characteristics of lymphoma, which can be distinguished from other lesions.
마우스배아줄기세포의 in vitro 시험계 활용을 위한 신경세포 분화프로토콜의 비교

Mouse embryonic stem cells are pluripotent stem cells that can be differentiate into all the cell types derived from three germ layers in vitro. We aimed to confirm the neuronal cell types derived from the embryonic stem cells by two different differentiation protocols, which would guide us which protocol is useful for in vitro neuronal toxicity test. The mouse embryonic stem cells derived from 129 mouse strain, TC-1 cells, were differentiated according to 30-day differentiation protocol or 15-day differentiation protocol. At the end of the differentiation period, neuronal cells (neuron, astrocyte and oligodendrocyte) were identified by immunocytochemistry using marker antibodies. According to the results, the numbers of astrocytes and oligodendrocytes were much higher than that of neurons in 30-day differntiation protocol. However, oligodendrocytes were overwhelming compared to astrocytes and neurons in the 15-day differntiation protocol. These results indicated that the neuronal cell types and the cell numbers derived from the embryonic stem cells should be considered when selecting in vitro neuronal cell toxicity models using embryonic stem.

The fracture resistance curve is one of most important and design techniques employed in nuclear pressure vessel structures. This study is to evaluate the J-R curve characteristics for the SA508C-3 by the unloading compliance method and load ratio analysis. The effect of strain aging for the exponential correlation of the J-R curve in this metal are investigated at room temperature, 200℃ and 300℃. The load ratio analysis method can evaluate the J-R curve by using the simple tension load-displacement curve only without the repeat of the unloading and loading. Therefore, the analysis by the proposed load ratio method has a merit, in comparison with the unloading compliance method, which can measure the crack length without the precision measurement equipment.
유전 모니터링에 따른 FGS/Kist Mice 의 Genetic Profiles

This experiment was performed to determine the genetic stability of FGS/Kist mouse strain through biochemical and immunogenetical monitoring methods. In biochemical monitoring by staining after electrophoresis, fifteen biochemical markers, alkaline phosphatase-1, carbonic anhydrase-2, esterase-1, 2, 3, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase-1, glucose-phosphate isomerase-1, hemoglobin betachain, isocitrate dehydrogenase-1, lactate dehydrogenase regulator, malic enzyme supernatant, major urinary protein, peptidase-3, phosphoglucomutase-1 and transferrin were all identical types among six mice from each of the F25/F26 generations. In the immunogenetical monitoring followed by the cytotoxic test, histocompatability-2D and -2K were shown to be 'k' type. No differences were found between F25 and F26 generations of FGS/Kist mice. These results suggested that FGS/Kist mice are genetically stable.
