재활용 재료로써의 건설폐토사 특성 및 균질화 가능성에 대한 평가

전국폐기물 발생 및 처리현황(2014, 환경부)에 따르면 우리나라에서 발생하는 폐기물 중 건설폐기물의 비율이 48% 수준으로 가장 높은 비율을 차지하고 있으며, 이러한 건설폐기물은 수집・운반업체를 거쳐 반입되거나 건설폐기물 중간처리업체를 경유하여 사업장 폐기물로써 최종처리를 위해 매립지로 반입되고 있다. 이러한 건설폐기물에 포함된 가연물은 고형연료로써 재활용하는 연구가 추진되어 왔으며, 불연물에 대해서도 입자가 5mm 미만인 토사류를 대상으로 식생토 등으로의 활용가능성이 검토되어 왔다. 매립지로 반입되는 5mm 미만의 건설폐토사를 재활용재료로 활용하기 위해서는 반입경로에 따른 건설폐기물간의 특성 차이와 실제 현장에 적용하기 위한 균질성 확보 여부를 검토할 필요가 있었다. 따라서 이번 연구는 매립장으로 반입되는 건설폐토사를 반입경로에 따라 월별로 조사 분석하고, 입도에 따른 분류 및 특성조사를 통하여 성상의 균질화 여부 등을 확인하였다. 실험 결과, 수집・운반업체를 통하여 반입(직반입)되는 건설폐기물 중의 폐토사 pH는 7.67~8.53이고, 중간처리업체를 경유하여 반입(중간반입)되는 건설폐토사의 pH는 7.76~8.61의 범위를 나타내었으며, 직반입 건설폐토사의 전기전도도는 13.15~15.15 dS/m범위로 시료 채취한 월에 따른 차이가 크지 않으나, 중간반입 폐토사는 7.28~14.05 dS/m 범위로 조사시마다 변동폭이 크게 나타났다. 또한 치환성양이온 중 칼슘성분은 반입경로와 상관없이 조사시점마다 큰 차이를 보였다. 입도(1 mm 미만, 1~2 mm, 2~5 mm)에 따른 삼성분 조사결과, 입도가 작은 폐토사에도 목재부스러기 등이 다량 함유되어 가연분 함량이 크게 감소하지 않는 것으로 확인되었다. 또한 마이크로 단위의 체를 이용하여 석고성분 등 특정성분을 선별할 수 있는지 검토한 결과, 특정성분이 입도에 따라 다량 존재하기는 하나 순도를 높이기가 어려웠고, 미세 체를 이용함에 따라 대량선별이 용이하지 않은 한계를 확인하였다.
아동기 사회경제적 지위가 중장년기 성인의 우울에 미치는 영향: 생애과정 관점을 중심으로

This study examined the effect of childhood socioeconomic status on depression of middle-aged adults in the life course perspective and tried to identify the path by verifying whether the two variables are mediated by the socioeconomic status of midlife. The Korean Welfare Panel was used for the first year to the twelfth year. Data were analyzed by path analysis and multiple mediation analysis using structural equation model (SEM). The results showed that experience of drop-out of school due to financial strains among socioeconomic status directly elevated the depression level of middle-aged adults. Also, parental education level, self-perceived economic status and experience of drop-out of school due to financial strains increase the depression level of middle-aged adults by indirectly mediating through their level of income and education. These results indicate that to lower the depression level of middle-aged adults, it is important not only to intervene in the risk factors at the time but also to resolve the inequality in childhood socioeconomic status. Based on the results of this analysis, this study suggests the basis of proactive intervention as a way to improve the mental health of middle-aged adults in the life course perspective. 본 연구는 생애과정 관점에서 아동기 사회경제적 지위가 중장년기 성인 우울에 미치는 영향을 검증하고 두 변인이 중장년기 사회경제적 지위에 의해 매개되는지를 검증함으로 그 경로를 파악하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 한국복지패널 12차 년도 데이터를 사용하였으며 구조방정식모델을 활용하여 경로분석과 다중매개분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과 아동기 사회경제적 지위 중 생계곤란으로 인한 학업중단경험은 직접적으로 중장년기 성인의 우울 수준을 높이는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 부모의 교육수준, 주관적 경제수준, 생계곤란으로 인한 학업중단 경험은 중장년기 소득과 교육수준을 매개로 간접적으로 중장년기 성인의 우울을 높이는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 중장년기의 우울수준을 낮추기 위해서 해당 시기 위험요인에의 개입과 더불어 아동기 사회경제적 지위에서의 불평등 해소가 중요한 과제임을 시사한다. 본 연구에서는 이와 같은 분석결과를 바탕으로 생애과정 관점에서 중장년기 성인의 정신건강을 향상시키기 위한 방안으로 사전 예방적 개입의 근거를 제시하였다.

This study examined the effect of natural oriental mixture essence on skin improvement without artificial additives. The subjects were 30 females in their 30s to 50s. The subjects used natural oriental mixture essence twice per day for six weeks. Then, their changes of sebum output, porphyrin index, pore size, melanin, and skin tone were analyzed by a skin analyzer (PSI Co., Ltd., Korea) before and after the experiment. After six weeks, there was significant results in the measurement of skin changes: sebum output (T-Zone: p<.001, U-Zone: p<.001), porphyrin (T-Zone: p<.001, U-Zone: p<.01), pore size (T-Zone: p<.001, U-Zone: p<.001), melanin (T-Zone: p<.001, U-Zone: p<.001), and skin tone (T-Zone, p<.001, U-Zone, p<.001). Therefore, these results suggest that essence made of natural oriental mixture have an excellent effect on skin improvement and provide a good basis and guideline to apply to skin care programs or home care products for anti-aging in women over 30s. Besides, natural oriental mixture will have high utility and value as cosmetic materials in the cosmetics industry.

This paper is to propose a hybrid memory adaptor using next-generation nonvolatile memory devices such as phase-change memory to improve the performance limitations of OpenStack-based object storage systems. The proposed system aims to improve the performance of the account and container servers for object metadata management. For this, the proposed system consists of locality-based dynamic page buffer, write buffer, and nonvolatile memory modules. Experimental results show that the proposed system improves the hit rate by 5.5% compared to the conventional system.
Right-to-left Shunting Ventricular Septal Defect in a Dog

A 4-year-old castrated male Dachshund was presented with a chronic history of dyspnea and cyanosis. Complete blood count revealed marked polycythemia with a hematocrit of 79.7%. Thoracic radiographs showed mild right-sided cardiac enlargement. Echocardiography showed a large ventricular septal defect in the left ventricular outflow tract region just proximal to the aortic valve. On Doppler echocardiography, right-to-left shunt flow through the defect was found and confirmed by contrast echocardiography. Based on these diagnostic findings and clinical signs, the dog was diagnosed as right-to-left shunting ventricular septal defect. Phlebotomy and oxygen supplement were performed, but the dog died the day after presentation.

Cystic endometrial hyperplasia (CEH) and uterine dilation (hydro-, muco-, hemato- and pyometra) are common uterine diseases in intact female dogs. The aim of the present study was to assess the usefulness of digital abdominal radiography in diagnosing uterine disease in intact female dogs. Two hundred and thirteen intact female dogs were included, and were classified into four groups on the basis of radiographic uterine visibility (visible/invisible) and ultrasonographic findings (normal uterus/abnormal uterine condition including CEH and uterine dilation). For each dog, the ratio of the maximum uterine diameter to the height of the fifth lumbar vertebral body (U/L5 ratio) was calculated on radiographs. There were 78 and 135 dogs in the normal and abnormal groups, respectively; 34.6% normal and 53.5% abnormal uteri were visible on abdominal radiographs. Our results suggested that a mean U/L5 ratio of 1.18 ± 0.53 (mean ± 2 SD) indicated a normal radiographic uterus diameter, and that a value of > 1.60 should be used as an indicator of uterine disease in clinical practice. However, because false negative results were noted, radiography cannot replace ultrasonography for assessment of the uterus.

Purpose: To investigate the size criteria of multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) for the evaluation metastatic lymph nodes (LNs) for potentially operable squamous esophageal cancer, and to compare this information with the results of positron emission tomography-CT (PET-CT). Materials and Methods: Twenty-four patients who underwent radical esophagectomy for esophageal cancer were studied. All patients had preoperative MDCT and PET-CT. The MDCT findings were compared with those of PET-CT and were correlated with the surgical records. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve method was used to determine the appropriate cut-off value to distinguish benign from metastatic LNs. Results: The size of metastatic LNs (9.35 3.41 mm) was significantly larger than that of benign LNs (5.74 1.64 mm) (p<0.001). The best cut-off value was 7 mm (81.8% sensitivity, 80.8% specificity). PET-CT detected all metastatic LNs except for four in the peritumoral region. The sensitivity and specificity of metastatic LN evaluation on PET-CT were 82.6% and 99.4%, respectively. Only one LN without metastasis showed increased fluoro-2-deoxy-D-glucose uptake on PET-CT. Conclusion: Size of metastatic LNs can typically be < 10 mm. For MDCT, the short diameter of 7 mm may be the optimal criterion. PET-CT is very accurate for the assessment of metastatic LNs except for those in the peritumoral region.
