        Is Taking an Antiplatelet Agent a Contraindication for Early Surgery in Displaced Femur Neck Fracture?

        Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate whether we have to stop the antiplatelet agents prior to hemiarthroplasty surgery in patients with displaced femur neck fractures to reduce postoperative complications. Materials and Methods: We enrolled forty-three patients with displaced femur neck fractures who were treated by bipolar hemiarthroplasty and were taking antiplatelet agents. Group I included 21 patients who discontinued antiplatelet agents and had delayed operations at an average 5.7 days and group II included 22 patients who had had early operations within 24 hours without stopping the antiplatelet agents. We compared the pre- and postoperative levels of hemoglobin, the volume of postoperative transfusion requirement and complications. Student’s t-test and chi-square test were used for statistical analysis. Results: The average differences between preoperative and postoperative hemoglobin was 1.4±0.4 g/dL decrease in group I and 2.1±0.5 g/dL decrease in group II (P<0.001). Patients who received a blood transfusion were 11 in group I and 13 in group II (P=0.66). Total number of blood transfusion was 13 pints in group I and 18 pints in group II (P=0.23). Pneumonia occurred in one patient in each group. Four pressure sores and three diaper rashes were developed in group I. But there were no patients requiring massive transfusion, reoperation due to hematoma and infection in each group. Conclusion: Although continuous taking of antiplatelet agents in displaced femur neck fracture is associated with an increased risk of postoperative bleeding, taking an antiplatelet agent itself is not a contraindication of early surgery.

        Lateral Femoral Bowing and the Location of Atypical Femoral Fractures

        Purpose: Atypical femoral fractures (AFFs) occur in two distinct part, subtrochanter and diaphysis. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between the lateral femoral bowing angle and the location of AFF. Materials and Methods: This study included a total of 56 cases in 45 patients who underwent surgical treatment between January 2010 and December 2015. For the diaphyseal and subtrochanteric AFFs, we evaluated the relationship between the anatomic location and lateral femoral bowing angle. Lateral femoral bowing angle was measured by two orthopaedic surgeons and average value of two calibrators was used in statistic analysis. Other variables like age, height, weight, body mass index and bone mineral density were also evaluated. We also calculated the cutoff value for the location of the fractures from the raw data. Results: The average lateral femoral bowing angle was 10.10。±3.79。(3。-19。) in diaphyseal group and 3.33。±2.45。(1.5。-11。) in subtrochanter group. Lateral femoral bowing angle was statistically significant in logistic regression analysis. According to the receiver operating characteristic curve, cutoff value for the location of the fracture was 5.25。. In other words, the femoral diaphyseal fractures are more frequent if the lateral femoral bowing angle is greater than 5.25。. Conclusion: The lateral femoral bowing angle is associated with the location of the AFFs and the cutoff value of lateral femoral bowing angle was 5.25。.

The suppression and control of multiple light scattering events are investigated because they offer the possibility of optical focusing and imaging through biological tissues, and they may open new avenues for diagnosis and treatment of several human diseases.         소외계층 스포츠복지 지원체계 문제점의 내용분석: 다문화가정을 중심으로

        For the neglected class, sports welfare plays a very important role to look away from the groups that can be discriminated and excluded, to improve the health and quality of life of individual members, and to social integration. In this study, 22 open-ended questionnaires of multicultural family members with limited social oppression and sports participation among the various neglected classes were analyzed. The problems of sports participation constraint, ie sports welfare support system, derived from this study are largely divided into four categories such as livelihood and language constraints, exercise programs, accessibility, and prejudice of surrounding people. Through this study, it is meaningful to find out what problems are occurring in the sports welfare support system of multicultural families among the neglected groups, and to provide various information in constructing the sports welfare support system of multicultural families . 소외계층에게 스포츠 복지는 차별받고 배제될 수 있는 집단에서 벗어나고, 구성원 개인의 건강과 삶의 질 향상, 그리고 사회통합까지 바라볼 수 있는 매우 중요한 역할을 담당하고 있다. 이 연구에서는 다양한 소외계층 중에서도 최근 사회적 억압과 스포츠 참여가 제한되고 있는 다문화가정 구성원 22명을 대상으로 개방형 설문조사를 수행하였고, 이를 토대로 스포츠 복지 지원체계 문제점에 대한 내용분석을 진행하였다. 이 연구에서 도출된 스포츠 참여 제약사항, 즉 스포츠 복지 지원체계 문제점은 크게 생계 및 언어제약, 운동 프로그램, 접근성, 주변인의 편견 등 네 가지로 범주로 구성되었고, 이를 구성하는 세부 내용들을 제시하였다. 이 연구를 통해 소외계층 중에서도 다문화가정의 스포츠 복지 지원체계에서 발생하는 문제는 무엇인가를 판단하고, 이를 통해 다문화가정의 스포츠 복지 지원체계를 구성하는 데에 있어 다양한 정보를 제공한다는 데에 의의를 지닌다.

        일회성 고강도 유산소 운동이 운동선수와 일반인의 염증반응에 미치는 영향

        [서론] 본 연구는 고강도 유산소성 운동 시 운동선수와 일반인의 염증반응에 미치는 영향을 검증하는데 목적이 있다. [방법] 건강한 일반인 8명과 운동선수 8명을 대상으로 O2max의 85%로 all-out 시점까지 트레드밀 달리기를 실시하였다. 채혈은 안정시, 운동직후, 회복 4시간으로 총 3회 실시되었으며, 채혈된 혈액으로 활성산소종 (ROS), NKT 세포, IFN-γ, TNF-α를 분석하였다. [결과] O2max 및 운동지속시간은 운동선수 그룹이 일반인 그룹과 비교하여 유의하게 높았다 (p<.05). ROS, NKT 세포, IFN-γ, TNF-α는 운동직후 유의하게 증가하였다 (p<.05). ROS와 IFN-γ는 일반인 그룹이 운동선수 그룹보다 유의하게 높았다 (p<.05). NKT 세포는 운동직후 시점에서 일반인 그룹이 운동선수 그룹보다 유의하게 높았다 (p<.05). [결론] 이상의 결과를 종합하면, 각 개인이 신체적으로 얼마나 적절하게 훈련되어 있는가와 같은 조건들은 생체 내 적응능력을 증가시킴으로 신체적인 부담을 줄이고, 면역 조절 기능에 긍정적으로 작용하며, 나아가 염증성 질환의 발전에 관여할 수 있는 염증 관련 요인들을 조절하는데 유리하게 작용할 것임을 제시하고 있다. [INTRODUCTION] The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effect of acute high intensity exercise on inflammatory responses in athletes and healthy individuals. [METHOD] In present study, treadmill running was carried out for 8 healthy individuals and 8 athletes at 85%O2max until the point of all-out. Blood samples were taken 3 times (Rest, immediately after exercise, and 4hour of recovery), and with the collected blood, reactive oxygen species (ROS), NKT cell, IFN-γ, and TNF-α were analyzed. [RESULT] O2max and exercise time to exhaustion were significantly higher for athlete group compared to healthy individual group (p<.05). ROS, NKT cell, IFN-γ, and TNF-α were significantly increased immediately after exercise (p<.05). ROS and IFN-γ were significantly higher for athlete group compared to healthy individual group (p<.05). NKT cell was significantly higher at immediately after exercise in individual group compared to in athlete group (p<.05). [CONCLUSION] These results suggest that how suitably an individual is now trained physically can play a positive role in reducing physical burden by increasing in-vivo adaptability, regulating the immune system, and also controlling inflammatory factors which can be involved in developing inflammatory disease.
