A more efficient method for obtaining the fatigue life enhancement of a structure member with fastener holes is described. It is based on the combined process of cold-expansion and ring-indentation. Residual stresses were induced onto premachined holes using ring-indentation process near the fastener hole combined with cold-expansion. And residual stresses at the vicinity of a hole were evaluated using a fracture mechanics approach. The compressive residual stresses were larger using the combined process than is in the case of simple cold-expansion. Fatigue testing of aluminum specimens showed that the fatigue crack growth retardation emanating from a circular hole was greater for the combined process than for a simple cold-expansion alone.

I'll present the alternative plans about a new program of buildings and the change of space shape attended on the problems occurred by the recent increase of population density and the extension of the cities by means of analyzing the situation of An-yang 1-dong. The problems are the connection between the new downtown and the old downtown, the complex of the neighborhood life facilities, the proper division as function of a residential district, the accommodation of the complex abilities fused Government buildings and residents' convenient facilities. If the government building has two kinds of energy about urban context an functional aspects, the building must absorb and integrate another infra to cope with the city's infra around us. This is able to carry out the function, that is, the building is open for the city and take the city into the inside city. In addition, as if it is the under space of symbolic tree of traditional construction, the town government building has the complex function so that the residents participate, communicate, take a rest, and accommodate the event of country.

The purpose of this study is to find concrete spacial concept which should be pursued in plazas of Korean cities, For this study, I planed a plaza in front of the Seoul city hall, giving emphasis on harmonizing the historical and cultural space, walking, traffic networks, and symbolic characters. As a result of analysing the situations around the city hall and the behaviors of people, I conclude that Korean urban plaza: 1. should avoid shape symbolizing but pursue to symbolize the very live of the citizens. 2. should have void space and flexibility to satisfy the highly concentrated functions, To achieve these objectives, plazas should be flat without any ruggedness. In addition to this, designers should furnish only spacial playing, colors, surfaces, rhythm, and basic facilities. Simultaneously, it require that various flexible boundaries; such as the invisible border lines in multi-purpose athletic fields.

Bicycle road which is beside main road in central city is effective regarding long distance connect effectiveness but continuity of drive is not that great. However bicycle road can contribute to share distribution ratio of public transportation due to high accessibility to the central city. This study suggested the improvement ways which are the continuity of bicycle drive, behavior of bicycle users, structure of bicycle road and the ratio of bicycle use. In addition this study confirmed that we have to focus on details such as road structure, boundary stone design and so on first. This study also suggested the problems and solutions of previous bicycle drive and users’ behaviors. Especially, Chang won which is a model of this study is designed by urban planning and has well organized bicycle road. Therefore this improvement ways will help new towns to connect specific bicycle infrastructure, various facility with bicycle policies.

The aim of this study is to improve the durability performance of catalysts for a catalytic combustor and to obtain operating conditions for stable combustion of the catalytic combustor. It was attempted to improve the durability of the catalysts by adding a promoter in order to reduce the cost of replacing Pt catalyst while maintaining stability. The main catalyst used in the study was Pt and the promoters were Ni and La. Pure Pt3/γ-Al<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> catalyst without promoter was promoted to fast sintering states under harsh conditions and catalytic combustion was turned off, whereas the catalysts added La, Ni as promoter were showed relatively slow sintering states. It can be concluded that the promoter La, Ni effectively contributes to the improvement of the durability of the Pt catalyst, and it is possible to get longer durability and more stable duration than the conventional catalytic combustor.
