To examine the possibility of using Musa sapientum L. (Banana) leaf extract as a cosmetic raw material, banana leaves grown in Jeju Island were extracted with 70% ethanol. Polysaccharides present in banana leaf extract were discarded by precipitation with cold ethanol. Polysaccharidediscarded banana leaf extract promoted procollagen and COL1A1 gene expression, but inhibited matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-1 and MMP-2 gene expression in human skin fibroblasts when examined by real-time reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The active compound in banana leaves was identified by fractionation with various solvents. The chloroform fraction showed the highest anti-wrinkle efficacy and the active compound of chloroform fraction was identified as corosolic acid by NMR, FT-IR, EA, and HPLCMS. In addition, banana leaf extract showed anti-oxidative efficacy with an IC50 value of 67.91 ppm, as determined by DPPH free radical scavenging assay. Finally, the anti-wrinkle efficacy of banana leaf extract-containing cream was confirmed by clinical tests. Based on these results, banana leaves could have an application as a cosmetic raw material with anti-wrinkle efficacy.

We report on the fabrication of efficient annealing-free organic solar cells using co-solvent solution considered as a promising method for low-cost and time-saving manufacturing. Higher device efficiency could be obtained compared to the pure solvent casted device, resulting from the improved crystallinity,optical absorption and transport properties. The power conversion efficiency of 2.8% was obtained,demonstrating the feasibility of achieving low-cost and high-efficiency organic solar cells without any additional treatment and processing additives.

직파용 벼 펠렛종자 제조장치 개선 연구(I) - 장치 제작과 성능분석 -

To enhance the performance of a rice seed pelleting machine and the quality of rice-seed pellets made, improvement of the rice seed pelleting machine developed previously(Park, 2002) was tried and its performance was evaluated. As compared with the previous pelleting machine, a feeding mechanism of pellet materials to the forming rolls was changed from screw conveyor to hydraulic cylinder for proper feeding, rings were installed among rows of semi-spherical forming grooves on the forming rolls for reducing pellet materials loss and seeds damage, and discharging air nozzles were added for complete discharging of the pellets made. Through performance tests, capacity, pelleting ratio, and seed loss ratio of the pelleting machine were investigated at the mixing ratios of soil to rice seed of 6 : 1, 7 : 1, and 8 : 1, and rotating speeds of the forming rolls of 7 rpm, 10 rpm, and 13 rpm. As results of performance evaluation, pelleting ratios were in the range of 77 ∼ 89 %, and maximum pelleting ratio increased by 18 % in comparison with that of the previous machine. Maximum capacity was about 110 kg/h(about 63,000 pellets/h), which was increased by 70 % in comparison with that of the previous machine. But, ratios of seed loss were in the range of 24 - 49 %, which were not improved.

In this paper, a traffic trend analysis based SNMP algorithm is proposed for improving the problem of existing traffic analysis using SNMP. The existing traffic analysis method has a vulnerability that is taken much time in analyzing by using a threshold and not detected a harmful traffic at the point of transition. The method that is proposed in this paper can solve the problems that the existing method had, simultaneously using traffic trend analysis of the day, traffic trend analysis happening in each protocol and MIB object analysis responding to attacks instead of using the threshold. The algorithm proposed in this paper will analyze harmful traffic more quickly and more precisely; hence it can reduce the damage made by traffic flooding attacks. When traffic happens, it can detect the abnormality through the three analysis methods previously mentioned. After that, if abnormal traffic overlaps in at least two of the three methods, we can consider it as harmful traffic. The proposed algorithm will analyze harmful traffic more quickly and more precisely; hence it can reduce the damage made by traffic flooding attacks. 본 논문에서는 기존 SNMP를 이용한 트래픽 분석 방법의 문제점을 개선시킨 SNMP 기반의 트래픽 추이 분석 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 기존 방법에서는 임계치를 적용함으로써 분석 시간이 많이 걸리며, 초기 공격 트래픽에 대해 탐지하지 못하는 취약점을 가지고 있었다. 본 논문에서는 임계치를 사용하지 않고 일주 트래픽 추이 분석, 프로토콜별 추이 분석 그리고 특정 MIB에서의 트래픽 발생 유무를 분석함으로써 기존 방법에서의 문제점을 해결할 수 있었다. 트래픽이 발생하게 되면 이 세 가지 분석 방법을 통해 이상 여부를 분석하고, 이상 트래픽이 중첩적으로 발생될 경우 현재 입력된 트래픽을 유해 트래픽으로 분석해낼 수 있다. 제안한 알고리즘을 통해서 유해 트래픽을 빠르고 정확하게 분석해 낼 수 있으며, 이를 통해 트래픽 폭주 공격에 의한 피해를 줄일 수 있을 것이다.
