Hyperlipidemia is one of the major factors causing the atherosclerosis of coronary arteries and a well-documented modifiable risk factor for stroke, especially of the ischemic type. Constipation is the condition of being unable to empty the bowels frequently enough or effectively. However, it is usually temporary and not a serious disease. Salicornia herbacea is a sea coast plant that grows on the western and southern coastal beaches and salt flats of the Korean peninsula. Belonging to Chenopodiaceae by biological classification. Salicornia herbacea is not known from research except that it contains plenty of minerals. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of treatment with Hamcho-hwanand to observe changes in total cholesterol (T-Chol) high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL), triglyceride (TG) and constipation. After treatment, total cholesterol decreased from 273mg/dl to 235mg/dl. Triglyceride decreased from 201mg/dl to 126mg/dl. HDL cholesterol increased from 30mg/dl to 40mg/dl. Constipation changed for the better. These results support a role for oriental medical therapy in treating hyperlipidemia and constipation. Further case studies of herbal treatment of this ailment are needed.

유단백질 가수분해에 의해 생성된 저분자 Peptides의 항산화 활성

The principal objective of the current study was to prepare low molecular weight peptides from milk proteins using enzymatic hydrolysis techniques, in an effort to assess the antioxidant activity of these peptides. The casein and whey proteins isolated from fresh milk were treated with several proteolytic enzymes, such as chymotrypsin, pepsin, and trypsin and the resulting low molecular weight peptides were collected by TCA precipitation. Their identity was confirmed by SDS-PAGE analysis. The hydrolysis experiments indicated that whey protein treated with chymotrypsin displayed the highest degree of protein hydrolysis. The antioxidant activity of milk protein hydrolysates was determined by measuring the ABTS-radical scavenging activity. The results of these experiments showed that hydrolysis of the milk protein was effective in increasing their antioxidant activities. Especially, the tryptic digested casein displayed the highest radical scavenging activity (80.7%). The hydrolyzed low molecular weight milk protein was isolated using an ultrafiltration membrane. The casein hydrolysate passed through a membrane with molecular weight cut-off (MWCO) of 3 kDa displayed the strongest antioxidant activity.

불현성 갑상선기능저하증이 병발한 고령의 뇌졸중 환자의 호전 1례

Hypothyroidism is a common disease of the endocrinal system, characterized by fatigue, cold intolerance, bradycardia, and so on. Subclinical hypothyroidism is a common biochemical abnormality which can be found in routine screening tests of thyroid function. It is defined as an asymptomatic state which characterized by normal free thyroxine(FT4) and elevated thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH) levels. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of treatment with palmijihwang-tang and to observe the changes in triiodothyronine(T3), free thyroxine(FT4), thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH) level and VAS of cold intolerance, hoarseness, dry skin. After the treatment, triiodothyronine(T3) increased from 57.12ng/dl to 120.53ng/dl. Free thyroxine(FT4) increased from 12.59pg/ml to 14.21pg/ml. Thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH) decreased from 10.61mU/L to 1.57mU/L. Cold intolerance, hoarseness and dry skin changed for the better. These results support a role for oriental medical therapy in treating subclinical hypothyroidism. Further case studies of herbal treatment of this ailment are needed.

Trehalose와 당류가 냉동요구르트의 저장 중 유산균 생존율과 품질특성에 미치는 영향

본 연구에서는 냉동요구르트 제조 시 trehalose와 sorbitol 첨가가 유산균의 동결변성방지 및 향기성분의 변화에 미치는 영향을 조사하고자 실시하였다. 요구르트를 L. bulgaricus와 S. thermophilus 단독균주 및 혼합균주로 발효시켰을 때 처리구 모두 trehalose와 sorbitol 첨가에 의한 발효과정 중 유산균의 증식효과는 나타나지 않았다. 요구르트를 6주간 냉동저장하는 동안 trehalose와 sorbitol 첨가에 의한 모든 처리구에서 유산균수의 차이가 없었으며, MRS 액상배지에 trehalose와 sorbitol을 각각 2%, 5% 첨가하여 6주간 냉동저장하였을 때는 5% trehalose 처리구의 동결변성방지 효과가 가장 우수한 것으로 나타났다. 냉동저장 기간 동안 고형분 함량이 12%인 처리구와 20%인 처리구의 생균수는 큰 차이가 나타나지 않아 고형분 함량 차이에 의한 trehalose와 sorbitol 효과에는 차이가 없는 결과를 나타내었다. 요구르트의 동결과 해동을 반복하였을 경우 trehalose와 sorbitol 모두 2% 첨가구보다 5% 첨가구가 우수한 동결변성방지 효과를 나타내었다. 전반적으로 Trehalose 첨가구가 sorbitol 첨가구보다 2%, 5% 모두 동결변성방지 효과가 좋은 결과를 나타내었다. Trehalose와 sorbitol을 첨가하여 요구르트를 제조하였을 때 향미성분의 함량은 대조구와 유사하였으며 일반적인 요구르트의 향미를 나타내었다. 냉동저장 중 요구르트 향미성분은 손실되거나, 함량비율의 변화가 발생하지 않았다. 이상의 결과로부터 요구르트의 풍미에는 영향을 미치지 않으면서 냉동저장에 의한 유산균의 동결변성방지제로서의 trehalose첨가가 냉동요구르트의 유산균 안정화에 효과가 있다고 하겠다. The objective of the current study was to determine the cryoprotective effects of trehaolse on lactic acid bacteria in the frozen yoghurt during long-term frozen storage conditions. The frozen yoghurts were prepared using starter culture containing Lactobacillus bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophilus, as well as trehalose and sorbitol as a cryoprotectant. The viable cell numbers of lactic acid bacteria in frozen yoghurt did not significantly decreased during six weeks frozen storage conditions. The MRS broth, which contains either trehalose or sorbitol, cultured with L. bulgaricus and/or S. thermophilus, and then the cultured medium was kept in the frozen condition for six weeks. The results indicated that lactic acid bacteria viability significantly increased with trehalose addition (2 and 5%) in the media compared to those of control and sorbitol supplement groups. The lactic acid bacteria viability in the yoghurts was examined on the effects of repeated freeze and thaw events. The freeze-thaw resistance of lactic acid bacteria significantly increased with trehalose supplement in the yoghurt. The major volatile aroma compounds (acetaldehyde, acetone, ethanol, diacetyl, and acetoin) in yoghurt were separated and indentified by headspace GC-FID analysis. Distinct flavor components and their ratios are known as important quality factors for yoghurt notes. Trehalose addition to the yoghurt was not influenced these factors during lactic acid fermentation. The results in this study demonstrated that trehalose potentially can be applicable as an effective cryoprotectant for lactic acid bacteria in the frozen yoghurt products.

자원 할당 및 입지 설정을 위한 GIS 네트워크 분석 시스템의 구현

GIS(Geographical Information System)의 네트워크는 실세계의 도로망, 전기망, 상하수도관 등을 표현한다.[4] 우리는 네트워크 분석 기능 중 자원 할당과 입지설정과 관련된 기능들을 Gothic 시스템에서 구현하였다. 자원 할당 문제는 네트워크 상에 자원을 공급하는 공급지와 자원이 이동하는 경로, 그리고 자원의 수요지가 존재할 때, 공급지의 자원 공급 능력과, 자원의 이동 비용, 그리고 자원의 수요량과의 연관 관계를 고려하여 자원이 할당되는 지역을 설정해 주는 문제이다. 입지 설정 문제는 자원을 공급하는 서비스 센터의 위치를 결정해 준다. 센터의 위치는 인구로 대표되는 소비자의 분포와 이동 비용에 의해 결정된다. 입지 설정은 어떤 지점의 인구 밀집도를 분석해 주는 포텐셜(potential) 함수[3]와, 소비자들의 이동을 최소화시킬 수 있는 센터의 위치를 설정해 주는 두 기능으로 구성된다. 센터의 위치를 설정해 주는 문제는 높은 계산 량을 요구하므로, 본 시스템에서는 네트워크 클러스터링을 이용하여 연산의 양을 줄이는 Approximation 기법을 사용하였다.

주민참여 공공디자인을 위한 커뮤니케이션 미디어 활용에 관한 연구

Recently, the public design plays a role in improving the residents’ quality of life and activating the local economy as an axis of the regional development. However, during the development process led by the local government, the public space has been changed to a place where only the function is emphasized without considering the local history, culture, and life. Since the opinions of the regional residents are not reflected, the public place lacks public benefits and has difficulties in continuous improvement and development. Here, we studied on the participation of residents in public design. Firstly, we discussed public design that residents can participate voluntarily and actively as users, managers, and beneficiaries. Secondly, it is necessary for the residents, who are not experts in the public design, to have easily understandable and well tractable communication media which facilitate communications with a group of the design experts and the public service personnel. We explained the types and specialities of the communication media. Thirdly, it is necessary for the residents to contribute much to the local development by active participation in the sustainable and consistent public design through using the easily accessible communication media.

스토리텔링 기법을 이용한 공공공간 디자인에 관한 연구

The element of the civic size is much more emphasized than that of the past national size in competitiveness of the information society and knowledge based society like today. It is for the beautiful and fresh civic creation like the civic size industry, historical culture, and environment to be the competitiveness. Expecially, the city of elegant and specialized space is a role of enhancing the quality of the city than any other area. Recently, Seoul is decided as the capital of the world design in ICSID held on San Francisco at 2007. It is an opportunity for the Seoul to leap as the design city which made a miracle of the Han River as the industrial city. However, the local history, the local history, the axis of the traditional time, the axis of the space, and the direction of the local development are deficient, because the public design business is progressed in very short term and at improvising which has been done in local government. It is impossible for people to take part in actively and it is fallen down for the city to make a sustainable possibility. In this paper, I would like to find out how to make the local identity and help the local activity. It is suggested to make the fun, comfortable and playing street using the theme street by storytelling. Eventually, the object of this paper is to review the effectiveness of the method where the Itaewon of design Seoul street construction business is applied by the theme street of the storytelling.
