노인의 회복탄력성이 우울과 정신적 웰빙에 미치는 영향 춘천지역을 중심으로

본 연구는 회복탄력성이 노인의 정신건강에 미치는 영향에 대해 살펴봄으로써 고령사회 속 노인들의 삶의 질 향상을 위한 방안을 마련하는데 기초자료를 제공하는 것이 목적이다. 본 연구에서는 설문에 참여한 춘천지역 65세 이상 노인 2,004명이 분석에 포함되었으며, 정신건강의 부정적 측면으로 우울을, 긍정적 측면으로 정신적 웰빙을 선별하여 회복탄력성과 정신건강의 관계를 보다 통합적으로 살펴보았다. 회복탄력성과 우울의 관계는 로지스틱 회귀분석으로, 회복탄력성과 정신적 웰빙의 관계는 다중회귀분석을 통해 살펴보았다. 연구결과, 첫째, 노인의 회복탄력성은 우울과 유의미한 부적 관계를 보였다. 둘째, 노인의 회복탄력성은 정신적 웰빙과 유의미한 정적 관계를 보였다. 이상의 결과를 통해 회복탄력성이 노인 정신건강의 보호요인으로 작용함과 이를 활용하여 노인의 삶의 질 개선을 위한 효과적인 방안을 구축할 수 있는 가능성을 확인하였다. This study was aimed to examine the association between resilience and mental health among individuals aged 65 and older. The number of the sample was 2,004 older people living in Chuncheon city. The dependent variables were measured with depression and mental well-being. Depression was measured by the Center for Epidemiological Studies-Depression(CES-D) 10 items. Mental well-being was measured by Korean version of the Mental Health Continuum-Short Form(K-MHC-SF). The independent variable, resilience, was measured with the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale(CD-RISC). Adjusted for age, gender, region, education, living arrangement, religion, employment, income, and self-rated health, a logistic regression analysis result showed that resilience was negatively associated with depression among older adults. On the other hand, a multiple regression analysis result showed that resilience was positively associated with mental well-being among older adults. The study findings suggest that resilience can promote mental health in later life. Implications for older adults suffering from mental health problems are also discussed.

노인의 객관적 체형과 주관적 체형인식 간의 불일치가 자살생각에 미치는 영향

연구목적: 본 연구는 한국의 65세 이상 노인의 객관적 체형과 주관적 체형인식 간의 불일치가 자살생각에 미치는 영향을 전체와 성별을 구분하여 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구방법: 2017년 지역사회건강조사 자료를 활용하여 65세 이상 노인 37,293명을 대상으로 한다. 종속변수인 자살생각은 단일문항(1=예, 0=아니오)으로 측정, 객관적 체형과 주관적 체형인식 간의 불일치는 총 7개 그룹(1=저체중-마른인식, 2=저체중-보통/비만인식, 3=정상체중-마른인식, 4=정상체중-보통인식(Reference), 5=정상체중-비만인식, 6=비만체중-마른/보통인식, 7=비만체중-비만인식)으로 분류 후, 복합표본 로지스틱 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과: 첫째, 전체 노인을 대상으로 한 결과, 정상체중-보통인식 군 보다 정상체중-비만인식 군의 자살생각이 더 높았다. 둘째, 여성 노인은 정상체중-마른인식 군과 정상체중-비만인식 군에서 정상체중-보통인식 군보다 자살생각이 높은 것으로 드러난 반면, 남성 노인에게서는 체형 불일치와 자살생각의 연관성이 없는 것으로 드러났다. 결론: 객관적 체형과 주관적 체형인식 간의 불일치는 자살생각의 위험요인으로 작용함이 드러났으며 노인 자살예방 대책 마련 시 성별에 따른 효과적인 개입방안 구축의 필요성을 확인하였다. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the association between body shape discordance and suicidal ideation among individuals aged 65 and older in South Korea, and to explore whether it is different by gender. Method: Using a national data from the 2017 Community Health Survey, 37,293 participants aged 65 and older were included in this study. A dependent variable was measured as having a suicidal ideation or not. With body mass index (BMI) and subjective body image perception measures, the body shape discordance was categorized into seven groups. A multivariate logistic regression was conducted with ‘IBM SPSS Statistics v21’ package. Result: Distribution of body shape discordance differed by gender. Even Korean older women were in normal weight category, discordance in their subjective body image perception made them have suicidal ideation. Among Korean older men, no association was found between body shape discordance and suicidal ideation. Conclusion: Body shape discordance should be considered when developing suicide prevention interventions for older Koreans. Also individualized suicide prevention plans should be implemented considering gender differences.
