This paper proposes an energy-equivalence based continuum beam model to predict the effective structural properties for the single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs). The proposed continuum modeling approach is applied to the armchair SWCNTs to compute their effective structural rigidities and mass inertia properties. It is found that the SWCNTs have quite large transverse shear rigidity, but with negligible structural coupling rigidities.
DFSS 기법을 이용한 후방 추돌 시 경부 상해 감소를 위한 머리지지대 인자의 영향성 연구

Whiplash is the most frequent injury among occupants in low speed rear-end car collision. The aim of this paper is to analyze thecorrelation between influence parameters of head restraints and whiplash injury criteria.In this paper, DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) method is used for optimum design of head restrains. Four control factors of head restraints have selected by function matrix method. The effects of the control factors have been experimentally evaluated by using a sled pulse from 16km/h relative velocity which is suggested by KNCAP (Korean New Car Assessment Program). In order to reduce the noise factors of dynamic tests, whiplash tests were repeated twice. By using DFSS, the correlation between control factors and injury criteria has been comprehended.

Whiplash injuries are minor injury among occupants in low rear-end collision. However, rear-end collision has been caused social problem as occupant injury and premiums in connection with whiplash injuries. So, in order to solve this problem, many manufactures have been studying to make effective seat and head restraints to protect neck from whiplash injuries. An active head rest in the event of a rear collision It moves forward to close the gap between head of occupants and the head rest to prevent whiplash. In this paper, we conducted KNCAP dynamic assessment test to compare efficiency of active head restraints by changing backset dimension. As a result, we could find out difference between active head restraints and in-active head restraints on backset dimension.
차량 공력소음에 대한 주관평가와 계량적 접근 방법의 상관관계

Wind noise has been highlighted as one of main ingredient of interior noises and shows important customer issues steadily. So in the automotive industries are doing efforts to enhance wind noise performance of excellent quality for satisfying customers’ needs. In general wind noise consist of rush noise, leak noise, buffeting noise, hoot noise etc. Each component shows different sound characteristic depend on what is sound source. And this sound characteristic could be classified with several sound metrics such as articulation index, loudness, sound pressure level and so on. This paper is aimed to investigate which sound metric is well correlated with subjective evaluation especially focused on rush noise and leakage noise. For the correlation function study, regression analysis method is used.
장기파랑관측자료와 수치실험에 의한 동해안 천해설계파고 검토

본 연구에서는 동해안의 4개 정점(속초, 묵호, 후포, 진하)에서 13년간 관측된 파랑자료를 이용하여 극치확률분석을 통해 재현빈도별로 천해설계파를 산정하였고, 이 값을 한국해양연구원(2005)에 제시된 동해안 심해설계파를 이용하여 SWAN 수치모델링로 계산된 결과와 비교하였다. 그 결과 2005년 기존 심해설계파의 수치실험 결과는 관측파랑에 의한 극치분석 결과보다 상대적으로 작은 것으로 나타났으며, 특히 30년 빈도 이하에서 동해안에서의 기존 심해설계파고가 과소산정되었을 가능성이 있음을 시사한다. In this study, shallow-water design waves are estimated for various return periods based on statistical analysis of extreme waves observed 13 years at four stations on the Korean east coast (Sokcho, Mukho, Hupo, Jinha). These values are compared with the results from SWAN simulation by using the deep water design waves conventionally used in Korea (KORDI, 2005). It was found that the simulated values of the shallow-water design waves are comparatively smaller than the values from the extreme value analysis, expecially below 30 years frequency, which implies possible under-estimation of the deep-water design waves on the Korean east coast.
차량의 공력 소음에 대한 품질지수 추정을 위한 손실함수 연구

Recently, passenger vehicle manufacturing companies are endeavoring to improve noise control technologies very much. Among them, the wind noise has been highlighted as a main ingredient of interior noises owing to passenger vehicle performance improvement. Passenger vehicle industries are doing efforts so as to enhance passenger vehicle wind noise performances of excellent quality for satisfying customer’s needs on it. This study is aimed to develop a wind noise loss function intended for customer satisfaction prediction from based on vehicle interior noise levels, and loss function play a fundamental role in every quality engineering method. Also, Loss function of wind noise and initial quality index is a reasonable approach method to design concept development, excellent initial quality, and robust in the wind noise performance development of vehicle.
