Objectives: The purpose of this study is to investigate the water quality of 16 golf course ponds located in northern areas Gyeonggi province by investigating residual pesticides, organic matters (BOD, TOC) and nutrients (TN, TP). Methods: The result data for the residual pesticides were used from 2014 to 2017. and other result data were used for April and July in 2017. The residual pesticides analytical method was based on ‘Golf course residual pesticides inspection method’, The others analytical method was based on ‘The water pollution process test standard’ Results: Very toxic pesticides and banned pesticides were not detected but general pesticides were detected. In case of the water quality of the golf course pond was applied to the lake water quality standard. In April the average TOC concentration was V grade to 6.46 mg/L, TP V grade to 0.13 mg/L, TN VI grade to 1.6 mg/L, In July TOC average concentration was VI grade to 8.65 mg/L, TP VI grade to 0.17 mg/L, TN V to 1.5 mg/ L. All TN and TP concentrations corresponded to eutrophication. Compared with lake water quality monitoring, the concentrations of BOD, TOC and TP were high but the TN concentration was low in April and July. Conclusions: It is considered that water quality managements are necessary for the golf course pond. The first reason is that the pollutants of pond are discarded to river during rainfall and act as pollution sources. The second reason is that the golf course users are uncomfortable because of odor caused by the pollutants of the pond.

The purpose of this research was to suggest the water quality improvement in streams by evaluating the distribution characteristics of organics and ammonia nitrogen discharged by pollution sources from human living. The public sewage treatment plants’(PSTPs) effluents and the waters from streams in Gyeonggi-do were sampled and analyzed. Nitrogenous oxygen demand (NOD) was measured for the stream waters as well as the PSTPs effluents, and the correlations of NOD and NH3-N, NH3-N and water temperature in the PSTPs effluents were confirmed. In the case of the stream waters, the ratios of NOD to BOD and NH3-N increased in the downstream sites after discharging the PSTPs effluents. As a result of statistical analysis of NH3-N concentrations for the national water quality monitoring streams in Gyeonggi-do, NH3-N showed the non-normal distribution which were biased to the left, but showed the considerable level because of higher coefficient of variation. Therefore, it is required to establish the water quality standard for the NH3-N as a new parameter for judging the quality of the streams. In addition, inducing complete nitrification and introducing a logical standard setting system are needed to improve the water quality of streams by identifying distribution of the nitrogen components from PSTPs effluents.
경기도 북부지역 아파트의 지하주차장 실내공기질 변동 특성

Objectives: The study examined indoor air quality during daytime and commute times in underground parking lots in five apartments located in northern Gyeonggi province. Methods: This study examined the temporal characteristics of PM 10 , CO 2 , CO, HCHO and VOCs in the indoor air quality of the underground parking lots in five apartments. concentration in daytime were ranged from 37.4 to 69.9 µg/m 3 which complied with the indoor air quality maintenance standard (200 µg/m 3 ) and Gyeonggi province ordinance standard (180 µg/m 3 ). However PM 10 concentrations in commuting time were in range of 447.3~944.0 µg/m 3 that exceeded for both criteria. The CO 2 , CO and HCHO concentrations complied with the standard. The VOCs indicated high tendency in the order of toluene, xylene, ethylbenzene and benzene. This tendency was more apparent in commuting time than daytime. Conclusion: All indoor parking lots of five apartments were equipped with ventilators. However the most apartment residents did not operate blowers to save electricity and the lack of interest for indoor air quality. In order to improve the indoor air quality of underground parking lots in apartment, operating ventilation system during commuting time is recommended.

This study was investigated on pH, heavy metals, oils and solvents in 34 surface soil samples and the samples are collected at two times for 17 farmland sites around 7 industrial areas in Northern Gyeonggi Province. As a result of pH for soil contamination monitoring network, the range of pH showed 4.4~8.4 and average was 6.3. The range of pH for Agricultural land around industrial area was 6.7~7.5 and average indicated 7.1 that mostly showed neutral condition in this area. he average concentrations of Cu, Pb, Ni, As and Cr are lower than Korea soil contamination worrisome levels at region 1 and the mean levels of farmland from the soil quality monitoring network. The average concentrations of Zn, Cd and Hg didn’t exceed the soil contamination worrisome levels at region 1 but slightly higher than the mean levels of farmland from the soil quality monitoring network. The heavy metal levels of all samples are within Korea soil contamination worrisome levels at region 1. The results showed that the detected heavy metal concentrations ranged from N.D. to ~32.7% of Korea soil contamination worrisome levels at region 1. BTEX, TPH, TCE and PCE were not detected in all samples and thus the farmland around the industrial areas were free from oils and solvents contamination.
國産天然 Bentonite에 의한 플랑크톤 藻類의 沈降除去實驗

An experimental investigation was conducted in a sedimentation basing to remove a certain freshwater algae using natural bentonite as a flocculant, and some results obtained are summerized as followings : 1. With dosing of 1500㎎/ℓ of bentonite suspension, the predominant species Spirogyra fluviatilis were removed by 71% and 81% at 50Cm and 100Cm of depth, respectively. 2. pH and turbidity showed almost the inital levels in two hours after temporary slight rise by sprinking of bentonite suspension. COD, DIN, and PO^(3-)₄ -P, however, were not affected by sprinkling of the bentonite suspension.
