Vol.19 No.2

The aim of this study is to compare cardiac diastolic function and cardiovascular factor in male elite athletes according to training types. Thirty-two male university students(Runner, n=8; Bodybuilder, n=8; Cyclist, n=8; Control, n=8) were assigned to 1 of 4 groups. All groups measured cardiac diastolic function by echocardiography and VO₂max, RPP were measured by graded exercise test One-way ANOVA was used to compare variables among 4 groups. Then, Bonferroni was used as post hoc analysis. A significant level was considered as p<.05. The results are as follows; 1. E/A ratio was higher in Run group compared to Body and Cyc, Con groups(p<.05, p<.01, p<.05). DT was higher in Run and Cyc, Con groups compared to Body group(p<.01, p<.001, p<.05). E'/A' ratio was higher in Run group compared to Body and Con group(p<.001, p<.001 and Cyc group was higher than Body group(p<.05). E/E' ratio was higher in Run group compared to Body and Con group(p<.01, p<.05) and Cyc group was higher than Body and Con group(p<.01, p<.01). 2. Sub-RPP was lower in Run group compared to Body, Cyc, Con group(p<.001, p<.01, p<.001, Cyc group was lower than Con group(p<.05). Cyc group was lower than Con group(p<.05). VO₂max was higher in Run group compared to Body and Con group(p<.001, p<.001) and Cyc group was higher than Body and Con group(p<.001, p<.001). In conclusion, Run and Cyc groups were improved in cardiac diastolic function and cardiovascular factors.

Vol.19 No.2

The purpose of this study is to estimate the effect when performing Basic Gymnastics of New Millenium Health Work Out with providing Kilo calorie and exercise intensity. The subjects consisted of 32 women(age 30~69) in good health living in S city who understood completely Basic Gymnastics of New Millenium Health Work Out. Experiment is done following procedures. First day, Maximal oxygen consumption and peak VO₂ was recorded by performing graded exercise test to the subjects. Second, when the subjects were performing Basic Gymnastics of New Millenium Health Work Out, they were wearing K4b2 and it was recording heat rate, VO₂, and Kilo calorie of the subjects in real time. The results are as follows. 1. While performing Basic Gymnastics of New Millenium Health Work Out, there was no meaningful difference of Kilo calorie per minute in age groups(5.67±0.80㎉~6.79±1.40㎉) and also total Kilo calorie for six minutes between age groups didn't show a meaningful difference(34.03±4.83에서 40.74±8.44㎉). 2. The percentage of average VO₂ was in thirties (55.77±15.66), in forties(64.32±15.94), in fifties (64.40±7.08) and in sixties (79.26±6.29). This showed the age group of sixties are 42.14% higher than the age group of thirties(p<.0l). 3. The percentage of VO₂peak was in thirties(78.57±5.42%), in forties(88.64±7.34%), in fifties(90.47±6.17%) and in sixties(94.10±6.37%). This showed no meaningful difference like 40>30(p<.05), 50>30(p<.0l), 60>30(p<.001). 4. The percentage of average heart rate was in thirties(69.28±3.68%), in forties (72.79±5.54%), in fifties(67.05±6.86%), and in sixties(72.84±5.38%). It showed no meaningful difference between age groups. 5. The percentage of peak heart rate was in thirties(86.31±5.91%), in forties(89.14±5.21%), in fifties(86.46±7.49) and in sixties(88.13±6.87), it also didn't show a meaningful difference. Consequently, Kilo calorie when performing Basic Gymnastics of New Millenium Health Work Out was similar to when performing light jogging. All the age groups showed moderate exercise intensity in average exercise intensity but age groups of forites, fifties and sixties except thirties showed more than a hard exercise intensity when they reached the level of peak exercise intensity

안선향 ( Seon Hyang Ahn ),이정필 ( Jeong Pil Lee ),윤진호 ( Jin Ho Yoon ),김상훈 ( Sang Hoon Kim ),오재근 ( Jea Keun Oh ) 한국특수체육학회 2009 한국특수체육학회지 Vol.17 No.4

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the 5-week Elastic-band exercise on the strength of lower extremities, balance and gait ability in hemiplegia. For this study, fourteen female patients with hemiplegia caused by strokes were participated voluntarily and then there were divided into two groups; i) Control group(n=7, physical therapy), ii) Exercise group(n=7, physical therapy and elastic-band exercise). Seven normal women were participated as a Normal group. Elastic-band exercise were accomplished during 5weeks(6days/week). All tests were completed before and after experiment. The results of this study were as follows; Strength of lower extremities were higher in exercise group compared to control group. Balance test of exercise group was significantly improved in post test compared to pre test. Also 6m walking velocity, cadence, and step length were significantly improved in exercise group compared to control group. As a results, the elastic-band exercise can improve strength of lower extremities, balance and gait ability in hemiplegia.
