한국천주교회와 사회참여 영성 : 제2차 바티칸 공의회의 정신에서 본 새로운 복음화의 과제

본 논문은 제2차 바티칸 공의회 이후 한국천주교회의 사회참여 영성을 탐구한다. 우선 공의회로 인한 가톨릭교회의 세계관의 변화를 고참하고, 종교사회학적인 경험적 연구를 통하여 한국천주교회의 사회참여 영성의 추이를 살펴본 후에 그 경험적 연구의 결과에 기초해서 가톨릭교회 공동체의 새로운 복음화 담론이 현 한국천주교회에 제기하는 과제를 검토한다. 한국 천주교회는 제2차 바티칸 공의회의 영향을 받아서 사회참여에 힘을 기울였고 한국의 민주화에 커다란 기여를 하였는데 그 결과 한국사회에서 가장 신뢰받는 종교로 평가되었다(2008-2010). 그러나 사회문제와 그 해결에 관하여 교회 지도자들과 교회 내 집단들이 보이는 의견의 차이가 2000년 이후 더 커지고 있다. 또한 통계조사 분석은 한국 천주교인들이 사회 참여를 통한 복음화에 점점 더 적은 관심과 열의를 보이고 있는 것을 알려준다. 그리므로 가톨릭교회의 새로운 복음화 담론은 한국 천주교인들에게 사회참여의 영성을 길러야할 과제를 주고 있다고 볼 수 있다. This article investigates the socially engaged spirituality of the Korean Catholic Church since the Second Vatican Council. It begins with an exploration of the Catholic Church’s change in worldview made possible through Vatican II. It, then, undertakes sociological experiential researches on the trend of socially engaged spirituality in the Korean Catholic Church. Finally, based on the finding results, it considers the tasks that the Catholic Church’s current discourse of New Evangelization poses to the Korean Catholic Church. Due to the influence of Vatican II, the Korean Catholic Church had been actively involved in social engagement to the effect of contributing greatly to the democratization of Korea. As a result, the Catholic Church came to be considered in Korea as religion of most considerable credibility(2008-l0). However, difference of opinions between church leaders and church groups regarding solutions to social problems has been increased since 2000. Furthermore an analysis of statistical data indicates that Korean Catholics have been showing less concerns about and enthusiasm for envangelization through social engagement. Therefore, it can be said that the Catholic Church’s discourse of New Evangelization gives Korean Catholics a task to cultivate socially engaged spirituality.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of COVID-19 anxiety on burnout and perception of working environment after COVID-19 among workers in facilities for the disabled. To this end, a total of 230 copies were distributed for a total of 20 days from September 1 to 20, 2021 to a total of 21 welfare centers for the disabled, vocational rehabilitation facilities for the disabled, and 219 copies were finally analyzed. The collected questionnaires were subjected to frequency analysis, descriptive statistical analysis, t-test, ANOVA, correlation analysis, and hierarchical regression analysis. As a result of the study, there was a change in working environment awareness and COVID-19 anxiety after COVID-19, and burnout increased as job performance awareness increased among the subtypes of COVID-19 anxiety and working environment awareness. Through this, in order to reduce the burnout of workers in facilities for the disabled, it is necessary to seek ways to support workers’ work and changes in the way they work and provide services in case of a disaster.

Catheter ablation is one of the major treatment options for patients with arrhythmia. It has been widely used since radiofrequency energy was adopted as a power source. Technical progress has resulted in better outcomes, better efficiency, and safer procedures. However, mechanisms of some forms of arrhythmia such as atrial fibrillation have not been fully elucidated in order to obtain a more favorable success rate. Therefore, progress in the basic research field to understand the mechanisms and substrates of arrhythmia as well as technical progress is essential for overcoming current obstacles in this therapeutic method.
시노달리타스를 향한 사목적 회심: 이냐시오 영성과 식별의 실천적 적용

오늘날 전세계 가톨릭교회는 ‘시노달리타스’라는 화두를 함께 대면하고 있다. 세계주교시노드 제16차 정기총회가 “시노드 정신을 살아가는 교회: 친교, 참여, 사명”이라는 주제로 제시되었는데, 이는 프란치스코 교종의 사목적 방향과 목표가 집약적으로 표현된 관심사이기도 하다. 그런데, 그간에 시노달리타스에 관한 관심은 매우 뜨거웠던데 비해서 그에 관한 논의는 교회법, 교회론, 교의신학, 성경과 교회사 중심으로 추상적으로 전개되어 왔지만, 사목 현장에서 직면하는 영성적, 사목적 차원에서의 실천적 과제에 대한 논의는 상대적으로 부족하였다. 본 연구는 ‘성 이냐시오의 회심 500주년’을 맞이하여, 프란치스코 교종의 영적 뿌리인 예수회의 사부 이냐시오의 영성의 핵심 기제들로부터 시노달리타스의 영성적이며 사목적 함의를 경험 과학을 다루눈 사회과학의 도움으로 도출하려는 시도이다. 본 논문은 특별히 이냐시오의 회심과 영성에서 중요한 ‘관상과 식별’의 함의를 검토하고 나서 ‘공동식별’에 필요한 정신과 태도를 영성 신학과 사회과학 차원에서 깊이있게 분석하고, 이를 교회 조직과 공동체에서 관철시켜 나가기 위해 필요한 사목적 회심과 거버넌스의 쇄신을 제시하고 있다. 사목자 혹은 교회 리더십을 수행하는 이들은 성령의 영감 안에서 식별하고 따르는 신앙 감각을 배양하고 열린 개방성과 공적 책무성을 중시하는 사목적 회심이 필요하다.

What can the Korean Catholic Church say about the ‘Church crisis’? This article tries to answer this question by reconsidering secularization from the perspective of the sociology of religion, borrowing Habermas’ concepts of legitimacy crisis and post-secular society and reflecting on theological issues in the light of the Second Vatican Council. First, the sociological theory of secularization, reflecting on the Church’s legitimacy and crisis in Western European societies, constitutes institutional differentiation, cosmic-symbolic invalidity of religion, and the privatization of religion as the relevance of religion has weakened for modern individuals’ life-worlds. It is consequently related to ‘declining religious authority’. In particular, the Church crisis in Europe and the U.S. includes individual priests’ immorality (i.e., pedophilia), a lack of institu-tional accountability and organizational responsibility on the part of the Church, and social distrust of the Church. However, the Church crisis as social phenomena needs to be understood in the post-secular social con-text in which religion has not lost its power in the public sphere and the religious and the secular are in conflict. The primary task of the Church is to bear witness to the ‘fullness of life’ or ‘happiness’ in the immanent frame. Symptoms of the legitimacy crisis in the Korean Catholic Church can be found in both institutional churches and clericalism. On the one hand, some institutional churches reveal CEO styles of secular triumphalism based on ‘spiritual worldliness’. The bureaucratic governance of the Church appears to be of the ancien régime, not of the current society of information and networks in which people aspire toward de-authoritarian, horizontal communication. On the other hand, the problems of clericalism include the human immaturity of church leadership, the lack of authen-ticity and spiritual sensibilities in priesthood, the patriarchal culture of gender inequality, and the lack of collaborative, caring communities/net-works among clergy and the religious. This article suggests multi-dimensional conversion as pastoral alterna-tives in response to the problem of the Church crisis. Church leaders (bishops, priests, religious, and lay) need to recover ‘inner authority’ through sincerity and authenticity at an individual level. ‘Companionship of empowerment’ as an antidote to clericalism can help the Church to bear witness to the Heavenly Kingdom at a communal/organizational level. Prophetic commitment requires liminality from the center to the periphery at a social level. Finally and most importantly, the Church needs to put its initiatives into the hands of God following the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
