In this study, solid dispersion (SD) was prepared by using a spray-drying method. This SD was formulated with raloxifene HCl (RLXH) and hydroxypropylmethylcellulose (HPMC) to enhance the dissolution rates of poorly water-soluble drugs. The particle size distribution was used to analyze the particle size of the original RLXH and SD. The solubility study was used to analyze the effect of HPMC in solubility of the RLXH. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was used to analyze the morphological observation of the SD samples. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) were used to analyze the crystallinity of the RLXH. The crystallinity of RLXH in SD was changed. The interaction between RLXH and HPMC was investigated by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The dissolution study presented a simulated gastric juice (pH 1.2). The release rate of RLXH SD was higher than that of the original RLXH due to the decreased particle size and hydrogen bond between drug and carrier. In conclusion, the SD techniques for the improvement of the dissolution rate of RLXH were a useful method.

Twelve Laminoazobenzene disperse dyes were synthesized usin two diazo component(Lnitroaniline, 2,Ldinit- roaniline) and six coupling components(milnt N-melhylaniline, N-ethylaniline, Nutimethylaniline, Nu4iethylaniline, Nu- ptihydroxyethylaniline). The effect of the nature of the substituents of Laminoazobenzene disperse dyes on dyeing property and color fastness(light ftsoess, sublimation flsoess and wash flsoess) on polyester, nylon 6, cellulose acetate fibers were investigated. The relations between light fulness and mechanism of fadins by light, sublimation and dye structure, and wash fastness and affinity were also described.

Purpose: Deformities after bilateral cleft lip repair usually involve the philtrum and the central upper lip, which presents as wide philtrum, wide Cupid's bow, whistling deformity and prominent prolabium. The object of this study is to introduce a simple method to correct such deformities of bilateral cleft lip, that is the redo-operation following the modified Millard's method. Methods: We present 2 patients with secondary deformities of the philtrum and central upper lip after bilateral cleft lip repair. A simple design was used to excise the excessive skin and mucosa of the central upper lip, and the philtrum and Cupid's bow were restored to the standard average width of Korean population. Results: The wide central upper lip and philtrum were successfully restored to the appropriate width(10-12mm) and shape. Also the border of the red vermilion was aligned properly resulting in a good contour of the upper lip. Both patients were satisfied with the results. Conclusion: In patients with wide philtral deformities, our simple method can be utilized for a satisfying result.

Purpose: Congenital factor VII(FVII) deficiency is a rare bleeding disorder and surgery can cause excessive bleeding due to an extrinsic pathway problem. It can be diagnosed by increased PT and decreased FVII level in coagulation test. Symptom varies according to the level of FVII, but it is essential to prevent intraoperative excessive bleeding. Methods: In this report, we described the orthognatic surgery experience in a mandibular prognathism patient with congenital F'VII deficiency, in which recombinant activated factor VII(rFVIIa) was used to manage the bleeding. Rsults: We could get a successful result without any complication and there was minimal intraoperative bleeding. Conclusion: The orthognathic surgery could therefore be safely performed in patients with congenital factor VII deficiency using rFVIIa.
