The aim of this study was to optimize a simple, fast, and economical analysis procedure for the determination of 16 different pesticides in raw milk via GC/MSD. Analyses were performed via gas chromatography with electron impact mass spectrometric detection in the selected ion monitoring mode (GC/MSD-SIM) using Pentachloronitrobenzene as the internal standard. The modified sample preparation methodology was based on the Pesticide Analytical Manual (PAM) of the FDA concerning fat extraction, ACN-ether partitioning, and clean-up of the Sep-Pak florisil cartridge. The modified methodology for the determination of the 16 pesticides was validated. The range of LOQs of the 16 pesticides was likely three times lower than their Maximum Residence Levels (MRLs). The recoveries of most of the pesticides were acceptable at the fortification levels of 0.5 and 1.0 ${\mu}g/mL$ and their RSD (%) level was less than 20%. None of the 16 pesticides were detected in the selected raw milk samples.
모아건강 증진을 위한 바코드 기반의 기증모유 표준화 질 관리시스템의 디자인 구축 및 평가도구 개발

Background Human milk (HM) is well known to have lots of advantages for infants in nutritional, protective, and developmental aspects. However, some of infants are not accessible to their own mothers’milk. WHO strongly recommended the pasteurized donor milk as the first option for such infants. For the effective and safe supply of pasteurized donor milk, numerous HM banks are established and very actively operating globally. In the HM banks, very specialized methods are warranted including the donor selection, collection, storage, processing, recipient selection, and distribution. Unfortunately, the HM bank is not active and even officially established in Korea. The aim of the current study is to find and to recommend a standardized system ensuring the safety and easily acceptable to Korean mothers and general health care facilities in Korea. Methods We reviewed the literatures and the previous surveillance studies for the issues on the Korean HM banks to explore the requests on the establishment of HM bank in Korea. Following the review results, the authors designed the barcode-based HM bank management and tracking system suitable in Korea. Result In the previous studies, the safety and accessibility of HM bank were the most important issues for the Korean mothers. To minimize the concerns on the safety of donated HMs, the tracking system from the donor to the recipients was applied. Moreover, the system was optimized to enhance the function of the localization of the HM banks. conceptual barcode label system was developed to meet the Korean mothers’ requests. Conclusion The barcode-based standardized HM bank manage system for Korean HM bank was developed. The system would be most appropriate design for localization model of Korean HM bank. (MSIT) (No.2020R1A2C1005082).- 연구배경 모유는 영아에게 영양, 질병예방 및 성장발달 측면에서 많은 이점이 있음에도 불구하구 모유부족으로 모유수유가 중단되어야 하는 경우가 있다. 이러한 영아에게 WHO는 저온살균 기증모유를 권장하고 있다. 이에 모유의 효과적이고 안전한 공급을 위해 모유은행이 전 세계적으로 설립되어 매우 활발하게 운영되고 있다. 모유은행이 안전하고 효율적으로 운영되기 위하여 기증자 선정, 수거, 저장, 처리, 수혜자 선정 및 배포에 있어서 각 국가별 특성을 반영한 관리 방법이 요구되고 있으나, 우리나라는 모유은행 관리방법이 공식적으로 확립되어 있지 않은 상태이다. 이에 본 연구는 안전성을 보장하고 산모와 지역사회 보건의료시설이 쉽게 접근 가능하게 하는 바코드 기반의 기증모유관리 시스템을 통한 모유은행 표준 관리 시스템을 개발하는데 목적이 있다. 연구방법 국내 모유은행 실태, 기증자 및 수혜자 요구 에 관한 문헌고찰 등의 사전연구를 통해, 한국형 모유은행 설립에 필요한 사항을 탐색하였다. 또한, 이를 토대로 도출한 국내 특성을 반영한 바코드 기반 모유 관리 및 추적 시스템의 내용을 설계 디자인하였다. 연구결과 모유은행의 안전성과 접근가능성이 한국 산모들에게 가장 중요한 문제점으로 나타났다. 이에 모유은행의 지역화 기능을 향상시키도록 바코드를 활용한 모유트래킹 관리시스템을 개발하고, 한국 산모의 요구에 맞는 개념적 바코드 라벨 시스템을 내용설계 하였다. 또한, 모유은행 기증 모유의 안전에 대한 우려를 최소화하기 위해 기증부터 수혜까지 추적 가능한 바코드 트래킹 추적 관리시스템을 적용하여 개발하였다. 결론 모유은행 기증모유의 모아건강에서의 효과, 기전 및 활용 평가를 위하여 한국형 모유은행 관리를 위한 체계적인 표준 프로세스와 바코드 라벨 디자인이 개발되었다. 본 시스템이 한국 모유은행의 지역형 모델을 위한 가장 적합한 디자인일 것으로 판단되며, 본 모델을 바탕으로 한 한국형 모유은행의 활성화와 효율적 운영을 기대한다.

In this paper, a soft robotic arm which can prevent impact injury during human-robot interaction is introduced. Two degrees of freedom joint are required to realize free movement of the robotic arm. A robotic joint concept with a single degree of freedom is presented using simple inflatable elements, and then extended to form a robotic joint with two degrees of freedom joint using similar manufacturing methods. The robotic joint with a single degree of freedom has a joint angle of 0° bending angle when both chamber are inflated at equal pressures and maximum bending angles of 28.4° and 27.1° when a single chamber if inflated. The robotic joint with two degrees of freedom also has a bending angle of 0° in both direction when all three chambers are inflated at equal pressures. When either one or two chambers were pressurized, the robotic joint performed bending towards the uninflated chambers.

This study examined the effects of Maillard reaction products reacted by casein and lactose (cMRP) and of cMRP fermented by Lactobacillus fermentum H9 (FcMRP) on hypolipidemic and anti inflammatory effects in rats fed a high-fat and high-cholesterol diet (HD). The HD-fed rats had significantly increased hepatic triglyceride concentrations compared with the rats fed a normal diet. It was shown that treatment with simvastatin, L. fermentum H9 (H9), cMRP, F-cMRP decreased total triglycerides in the liver compared with the HD group. On histological analysis, a reduction of lipid accumulation in the liver and aortic tissues was observed in the cMRP, F-cMRP, and H9-fed rats. Also, F- cMRP and cMRP reduced intima-media thickness in the HD group. In addition, the H9, cMRP, F-cMRP treatments significantly reduced the expression levels of ICAM-1 and VCAM-1, but not of MCP-1. In particular, the expressions of ICAM-1 and VCAM-1 were significantly decreased in the F-cMRP group compared with the HD group. These results of the present study suggest that cMRP and F-cMRP in dairy foods could potentially be used to prevent or treat cardiovascular diseases, especially atherosclerosis.

Kefir is traditional fermented milk produced by various lactic acid bacteria (LAB) and yeast, which produce lactic acid,ethanol, carbon dioxide, and other flavor compounds. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of different com-mercial oligosaccharides, such as maltotriose, fructooligosaccharide (FOS), galactooligosaccharide (GOS), and isomaltoo-ligosaccharide (IMO), on the fermentation properties of kefir. First, we determined the acidification kinetic parameters, such as Vmax, tmax (h), tpH 5.0(h), and tf (h) of fermented milk supplemented with 4% (w/w) of different oligosaccharides. The probiotic survival and chemical composition (pH, organic acids profile, and ethanol content) of kefir during fermentation were also measured. Compared to control fermentation, all oligosaccharides increased acidification rate and reduced the time to com-plete fermentation (pH 4.7). The addition of FOS, in particular, resulted in the lowest tf (h) and the highest populations of LAB and yeast during fermentation. All oligosaccharides increased ethanol production during fermentation. Further, signif-icant differences were observed in the formation rates of six organic acids during fermentation. This study provided com-parative data on the properties of commercial oligosaccharides for kefir manufacturing. Consequently, FOS especially had the potential for adequate and effective oligosaccharides in commercial kefir for the improvement of cost- and time-effec-tiveness.
