First and second kidney transplantations from living donors offer comparable outcomes for patients

Background: Increasingly many patients are being relisted for repeat kidney transplantation due to longer survival times after transplantation. This study compared the outcomes of second living donor kidney transplantations (LDKTs) with those of first LDKTs. Methods: Data were collected retrospectively for 1,429 LDKTs performed from 1995 to 2020 at Samsung Medical Center. The demographics of recipients and donors, immunologic factors, and outcomes of second LDKTs were compared to those of first LDKTs. Results: Among 1,429 cases of LDKT, 1,355 were first LDKT cases and 74 were second LDKT cases. Basic demographic data were comparable for the two groups of patients. The 5- and 10-year graft survival rates were 94% and 84% for first LDKTs and 96% and 86% for second LDKTs, respectively, with neither difference statistically significant (P=0.399). The 5- and 10-year patient survival rates were 98% and 94% for the first and 96% and 93% for the second LDKTs, respectively; neither difference was statistically significant (P=0.766). Multivariate analysis confirmed that a history of previous transplantation was not a statistically significant risk factor for graft loss (hazard ratio [HR], 0.83; P=0.677) or patient death (HR, 1.68; P=0.396). Conclusions: These results indicate that repeat kidney transplantation from living donors is a reasonable choice for patients who have experienced graft loss.

쌀의 기계적 식미치 측정용으로 최근 많이 사용되고 있는 도요 미도메타의 미도치를 근적외선 분광분석 기를 이용 신속 간편하게 측정할 수 있는지를 검토하고자 실험 하였던바 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 수집된 브랜드 쌀의 도요 미도치는 최저 62.9, 최고 84.2까지의 비교적 넓은 범위를 보였으며, 샘플의 분포 양상도 정규분포에 가까웠다. 2. MPLS(Modified Partial Least Square) 방식에 의한 검량식 작성시 도요 미도치와 근적외선 스펙트럼 간 결정계수 $(R^2)$는 0.94, 표준오차(SEC)는 0.95정도로 비교적 높은 상관성을 보였다. 3. 검량식 검증 표준오차는 1.64, 검증시 상관정도는 0.81로서 근적외선 분광분석기로 도요 미도치를 비 파괴적으로 손쉽게 측정할 수 있는 가능성을 제시 할 수 있었다. The purpose of this study was to assess whether mechanical sensory score by Toyo Midometer can be substituted by near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) method in whole-grain milled rice samples. Toyo values of collected commercial brand rice (n=127) had comparatively wide ranges from 62.9 to 84.2 (Mean=70.5; S.D.=4.0). Calibration equation was developed using 73 samples. Standard error of calibration (SEC) for sensory score equation and $R^2$ were 0.95, and 0.94, respectively, however, percentage of variation in the reference method values (1-VR) which give a true indication of equation performance was slightly lower (1-VR=0.81) than calibration equation. It was demonstrated that, even though NIRS has potential as a rapid tools to predict rice sensory score, the prediction of sensory score in rice by NIRS needs to be further investigation on a large number of sample with different varieties and growing locations.

논 표면 탈립 벼 종자의 월동중 발아력변화와 월동후 포장 출현 및 생육

벼 콤바인 수확답에서 탈립된 종자의 월동중 활성검정 및 품종별 탈립량에 따른 이형주 발생정도와 양상을 검토, 벼 종자 순도유지에 관한 기초자료로 활용코저 하였던바 아래와 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 탈립종자의 시기별 발아율은 일반형, 통일형 모두 경과시기가 길어질수록 낮아지는 경향이었으며, 발아세의 경시적 변화도 같은 경향을 보였다. 2. 조사시기에 따른 종자 단백질의 전기영동적 차이에 있어서 팔공벼, 삼강벼 공히 단백질 Band에 농·담의 차이가 있었다. 3. 생태형별 이형주 발생율은 일반형 품종이 통일형 품종에 비하여 이형주는 대비품종에 비해 초장, 주당경수, 엽장, 절간장, 수장 및 수당립수 등의 형질이 저하되는 경향이었다. 또한 1차 지경보다는 2차지경에서 저하율이 컸으며 수당 영화수에 대한 상관정도는 2차지경이 높았다. 4. 이형주 종자의 발아능력은 대비품종에 비해 대차가 없었고 종자수량에 있어서 일반형 품종이 평균 5.1kg /10a, 통일형 품종이 평균 0.9kg /10a 였으며, 생태형별 대비품종에 대한 혼입비율은 일반형 품종이 0.7%, 통일형 품종이 0.1% 정도였다. Germinability, electrophoretic variation of protein of shattered seeds during overwintering and characteristic of main agronomic traits of off-type rice plant occurring in paddy field harvested by combine were investigated. Germinability of shattered seed decreased as time goes in paddy field in both Japonica and Tongil type varieties. Electrophoretic protein bands become more and more light as time goes. Occurrence of off-type rice plant was higher in Japonica varieties than in Tongil type varieties. Off-type rice plant was shorter in plant height, leaf length, tiller number per hill, internode length, panicle length and spike let number per panicle. Germinability of seeds of off-type rice plant as not significantly different compared to the control variety. Yield of off-type plants of Japonica varieties was on average 5.1kg / 10a and that of Tongil type varieties was on average 0.9kg /10a. Mixing ratio to the control variety was about 0.7% in Japonica varieties and that of Tongil type varieties was about 0.1%.
