M. sympodialis 억제 및 HFDPC 활성 효과를 갖는 두피 케어용 LED의 광학 특성

In this paper, we studied the optical properties of LEDs that inhibit Malassezia sympodialis and activate HFDPC(Human follicle dermal papilla cells) to prevent dandruff and hair loss. The optical data of the test results confirmed measurement traceability by calculating the horizontal irradiance irradiated directly to the cells. In the test results, when irradiated with light of 393 ± 3nm, it was found to be effective in improving antifungal performance when increasing the horizontal irradiance while lowering the energy density in the effective energy range where the light absorption of M.sympodialis is easy. In the scalp cell activation test, light was irradiated to HFDPC at an energy density of 5 ± 0.17J/㎠ with the 630 ± 1nm LED and the energy density of 20 ± 1.22J/㎠ with the 850 ± 1nm LED. As a result, the incidence rates of IGF-1 and VEGF, which are hair growth promoting factors, were increased by 38% and 44%, respectively, compared to the normal group not irradiated with light. In particular, when the 850 ± 1nm LED is irradiated, the Incidence of the inflammatory factor(COX-2, MMP-2) is not changed compared to the normal group.

In this study, the carbon length of the TiO₂ surface property was controlled by using other surface materials in order to improve the light characteristics and color uniformity of the white LED. The surface physical properties of the TiO₂ particles were adjusted in the same manner as the physical properties of the silicone encapsulating material to ensure the dispersion stability. and The improved dispersion stability enabled to prevent the precipitation and aggregation of the particles which enhances the scattering efficiency of TiO₂. As a result of the measurement of optical characteristics, total luminous flux improvement of 3 to 8% occurred in the LED package manufactured using the surface modified TiO₂, and deviation of color uniformity due to angle could be improved.
도로 조명 설계에 있어서 취도-조도 환산계수 적용에 관한 검토

In this paper it is examined the validity of luminance-to-illuminance conversion factor in the roadway lighting design. Luminance and illuminance distribution patterns were measured to yield the calculated conversion factor on the newly-constructed highway, and this value was compared to the conversion factor commonly used. We found that some discrepancy might exist between them due to difference in the values between the luminance yield factor and the coefficient of utilization. Therefore this fact must be fully understood in the roadway lighting design process.
LED용 실리콘 봉지재의 경화방법이 신뢰성에 미치는 영향

Encapsulant curing in terms of convection oven leads to thermal induced stress due to nonuniform thermal conductivity in LED package. We have adopted infrared (IR) light for silicone curing in order to release the stress. The light uniformity irradiated on an encapsulant surface is confirmed to be uniform by optical simulation. Shear strength of die paste using IR compared to convection oven is increased 19.2% at the same curing time, which indicates curing time can be shortened. The indentation depth difference between center and edge of silicone encapsulant in terms of convection oven and IR are 14.8% and 3.4%, respectively. Curing by IR also shows 2.3% better radiant flux persistency rate of LED at $85^{\circ}C$ after 1,000 h reliability test compared to convection curing.
LED 광패치 뷰티기기의 광균일도 향상을 위한 광학 구조에 관한 연구

Light therapy is safe and effective, so it is used for wound healing and skin care. Light patch products using LEDs can be manufactured to fit the surface of the skin or face, but it is limited of light therapy function by using a single-wavelength LED light source. In addition, the light source for the light patch has a disadvantage of low light uniformity because of equal spacing arrangement of the LED packages. In this paper, we have developed prototype of light patch module based on 3-in-1 LED package with 3-wavelength (430/630/830㎚) characteristics such that can mitigate wrinkles under the eyes and skin. Optical structure of the 3-in-1 LED package was studied to improve light uniformity by applying a diffusion sheet. The resultant light patch module were manufactured based on the simulation results. Optical evaluation showed that the average light uniformity based on luminance was attained at the level of 82.9%, and 94.6% based on illuminance. Test for skin regeneration effect using the red wavelength revealed promotion of COLI 15.5% and COLIII 1.6% in the case of the light patch module with diffusion sheet.

This study was conducted to select poplar clones that can grow well in given specific environmental sites. Survival rate, height, and diameter growth of thirteen hybrid clones that had been developed in Korea and eight exotic clones planted in 1994 were investigated in 2002. The results are as follows : Mean survival rates at age 3, 6 and 9 were 45, 41 and 37%. respectively. K-246, one of aspen hybrid clone, showed the highest mean survival rate(70%) at age 9, however, P. ciliata introduced from Pakistan showed the lowest mean survival rate(5%) at the same age. Mean volume growth was statistically significant among clones and sites. Suwon poplar, as a control, was the best in mean volume growth(0.1615m) among the clones, but the clone showed poor survival rate and growth in Jinju plantation. 64-88 and K-246 clones showed relatively good growth and high survival rate at the foot of mountain like Jinju plantation.

This paper investigates the illuminance level at the existing gas stations and compares the results with the KS and IESNA standards. The measured illuminance level in the pump island area is found to be high up to 3 times the recommended value in KS and somewhat lower than one in IESNA standard. From this result we conclude that significant degree of energy saving can be possible from proper maintenance program, and careful consideration must be paid in the design process. And the KS standard need to be examined more thoroughly against other nation"s standards.
형광체층 위치에 따른 LED 패키지의 열 특성에 관한 연구

In this paper, we studied for the thermal property LED package depending on the amount of phosphor and position of phosphor layer. The white light was released by energy conversion of phosphor from the blue to yellow range light. However, the heat was also generated according to the quantum efficiency of phosphor leading to the increment of internal temperature of LED package. When the thermal property of LED package was investigated by varying the phosphor concentration, the temperatures of packages with 50 and 100wt% of phosphor were increased by 17 and 19.2℃, respectively compared to the package without phosphor. Also, the heat characteristic was evaluated by changing the phosphor positions such as precipitation, dispersion, and reverse precipitation. In the LED package fabricated with a precipitation layer, the temperatures of upper and lower part were 70.1 and 64.0℃ and their temperature difference was 5.9℃. In the case of LED package with dispersion layer, the temperatures of upper and lower part were 77.2 and 63.0℃ and the temperature difference was 14. 2℃. The package with reverse precipitation layer showed the highest (91.4℃) and lowest (62.1℃) temperatures because the heat was not effectively transferred from phosphor layer to LED chip due to long distance between them.

In this study, we established and devised optical design goals for the ‘ LED roadway lighting with low-level mounting’, which analyzes problems with existing streetlights and existing low-lightness problems. Further, the analysis of various types of light emitted and the suitability of road illumination performance indicators through the field survey process and the feasibility of evaluating the characteristics of various aspects, including maintainability, design, and standardization, were proposed.
