Oculomotor nerve palsy presents itself with sudden onset unilateral ptosis and inability to turn the eye upward, downward, or inward, which causes visual disturbances. Strabismus caused oculomotor nerve palsy refers to muscle imbalance that results in improper alignment of the visual axes of the two eyes It may be divided into paralytic and non paralytic strabismus. paralytic strabismus is primarily a neurologic problem. Characteristic clinical disturbances result from lesions of the third, fourth, and sixth cranial nerves. Lesions of the third nerve result in a paralysis of lateral or outward movement and a crossing of the visual axes. Objective: This study was designed to evaluate the effects of oriental medicine therapy on a peripheral oculomotor nerve palsy. Methods & Result: The clinical data was analyzed on a patient with oculomotor nerve palsy whose main symptoms were right side ptosis and inability to turn the eye inward. The patient was treated by the electroacupucture(4Hz frequency, intensity was adjusted so that localized muscle contractions could be seen). As the result, symptoms are improved remarkably. Conclusion: The patient showed right eye ptosis and unilateral deviation of the right eye ball in neutral position. After acupuncture treatment and electroacupuncture treatment, the ptosis and deviation of the patient's right eye was recovered six weeks after the onset. The study suggests that oriental medicine therapy is significantly effective on the treatment of peripheral oculomotor nerve palsy.

교육용 실습실 네트워크 관리를 위한 웹 기반 사용자 인터페이스의 설계 및 구현

본 논문은 교육용 실습실 네트워크 관리를 위한 웹 기반 사용자 인터페이스를 설계하고 구현하는 방안을 제안한다. 제안하는 웹 기반 사용자 인터페이스는 관리자가 관리의 대상이 되는 네트워크 객체에 대한 정보를 분석시스템으로 보내는 역할을 담당하며, 분석시스템으로부터 전송된 정보를 관리자의 편의를 고려하여 차트 형태로 제공한다. 또한, 웹 환경을 기반으로 인터페이스도 제시한다. 본 논문에서 구현한 교육용 실습실 네트워크 관리를 위한 웹 기반 사용자 인터페이스는 사용자가 웹을 이용하여 네트워크 진단과 장애 감지, 네트워크 구성 및 설계 등과 같은 네트워크 상의 관리 행위를 효과적으로 수행할 수 있도록 도움을 준다. This paper proposes a method to design and implement web-based user interface for managing PC-room networks. The proposed interface sends messages of the network objects to be managed to an analysis system, and shows the replied messages from the analysis system as a graphical from for the network administrator's conveniences. Also, the interface is implemented on the web-environment for convenient and remote monitoring, and suggests the user applications even for non-expert network administrators. The proposed web-based user interface for the PC-room network management can help to network managements such as diagnosing network status, detecting network faults, designing network arrangements etc.

선학차(仙鶴草) 추출물의 투여(投與)가 Streptozotocin으로 유발된 당뇨쥐에 미치는 영향

Objective : The present study was carried out to investigate the preventive effect of Agrimonia pilosa Ledebour on Streptozotocin(STZ)-induced Diabetes mellitus. Method : Agrimonia pilosa Ledebour was given to rats with oral administration. The experimental animals were divided into 3groups : normal group of rats, control group of STZ-induced diabetic rats, sample group with Agrimonia pilosa Ledebour. The effect of Agrimonia pilosa Ledebour on STZ-induced diabetes was observed by measuring the survival rate of rats, weight of rats, FER, blood glucose, each organ weight of rat, total cholesterol, HDL, GOT, GPT & creatinine. Result : STZ caused hyperglycemia and hypoinsulinemia by a selectively destroying pancreatic ${\beta}-cell$. Agrimonia pilosa Ledebour treatment don't protected them from hyperglycemia and hypoinsulinemia. Organ weight only liver weight decreased but kidney, heart & spleen shows no significant changes. Agrimonia pilosa Ledebour significantly don't recoverd the increase of several biochemical parameters such as blood glucose, total cholesterol, HDL, GOT, GPT & creatinine is vice versa. Conclusion : Agrimonia pilosa Ledebour extract group did not show significant difference compared with STZ-induced Diabetes Mellitus group.

PF 열교환기의 열전달과 압력강하 특성 실험 연구

In the present study, the air-side heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics of the fin-tube and PF heat exchangers have been experimentally investigated under the cooling standard condition. Fin type of PF heat exchanger is a triangler and squarer form. The experimental data of the slit fin-tube and two kinds of PF heat exchangers are measured using the air-enthalpy calorimeter and the constant temperature water bath. As the inlet air velocity increases, the heat transfer rate and pressure drop of the heat exchanger increased. The heat transfer rate and pressure drop of PF-2 heat exchanger of the squarer fin is larger than that of PF-1 heat exchanger of the triangler fin. As the inlet air temperature increases, the heat transfer rate decreases and the pressure drop is nearly uniform.

안면마비를 동반한 Tolosa-Hunt Syndrome 환자 1례

Painful ophthalmoplegia due to idiopathic granulomatous inflammation of the cavernous sinus/superior orbital fissure has been termed Tolosa-Hunt syndrome(THS). The syndrome is characterized by pain behind, above or around the eye, involvement of the cranial nerves which pass through the cavernous sinus, spontaneous remissions and exacerbations, and a favourable response to steroid therapy. There was the 56 years old man who suffered from painful ophthalmoplegia and facial palsy. The oriental medical treatment without steroids and analgesics reduced the symptoms of the patient remarkably during 5 weeks. There is few report that treat THS with oriental medical method. If more clinical trials like this are proved to be effective, we can expect that oriental medical treatment will be a good method in THS.

여드름을 중심으로 한 피부질환 환자의 삶의 질

Background : Quality of life(Qol) is a broad concept that incorporates all aspects of an individual's existence. There is many study about Qol of the patient with dermatic disease in the west, but in korea there is few study, particularly for oriental medical academic world. Objective : The purpose of this study is to Investigate the influence of dermatic disease, particularly acne on the Qol by using the korean version of skindex-29. Method : We measured the Qol of Kyungwon university student participating in Dongseo health examination by using the Korean version of Skindex-29. A total of 535 students were enrolled In this study. Results are reported as 3 scales scores (functions, emotions, and symptoms) and a composite score (average scale score). Result : 1) There were no statistically significant gender-related differences in Qol scores in patient group with acne. 2) There were no significant correlation between Age Duration and Qol socres in patient group with acne. 3) Acne group marked higher Qol scores than contact dermatitis and normal group (lower than Acne with atopic dermatitis group) within emotional scales. 4) Acne group marked higher Qol scores than scar, tinea cruris, and normal group (lower than Acne with atopic dermatitis group) within functional and total scales. 5) Acne group marked higher Qol scores than tinea cruris and normal group (lower than Atopic dermatitis group) within symptom scales. 6) In acne group that feel the necessity of medical treatment, group that be treated by occidental medical method marked lower Qol scores than group that don't be treated within functional, symptom, and total scales. 7) In acne group that don't be treated, group that feel the necessity of medical treatment marked higher Qol scores than group that don't feel within emotional, functional, and total scales. 8) Acne group that don't fee the necessity of medical treatment and be treated marked high scores than normal group within all scales. Conclusion : Acne is sometimes thought of as unimportant, but Acne significantly affects patient's Qol. Occidental medical treatment can help Acne patients to improve Qol. Even if someone who suffering from acne feel that he don't need to be treated, he had lower Qol than healthy controls. And we can expect that proper occidental medical treatment help him. But few study have discuss whether oriental medical method can improve Qol of acne patients. From now on we expect interesting study that measure effect of oriental medical therapy on Qol of Acne patients and compare with occidental medical therapy by using Qol mesure instrument.

외치요법을 위주로 한 아토피 피부염 환자 증례

Object : In this study, the effect of herbal external therapy, aromatherapy, herb medication against atopic dermatitis was investigated. Method : Atopic dermatitis grade and the effect of medication was determined using Kunz type and SCORAD index. Atopic dermatitos lesion was checked by taking pictures Result : The patient's admission SCORAD index was 74.2 but during 32 days admission treatment the patients's symptoms are getting reduced. At last when she discharged, the SCORAD index was 16.1. Conclusion : In this study, herbal external therapy, aromatherapy and herb medication were shown to treat atopic dermatitis effectively by decreasing itching, oozing, crust, dryness, lichenification. It is very possible that external therapy can offer a valuable mode of the treatment of not only atopic dermatitis but also another eczema.

보중익기탕이 알레르기 비염 유발 白鼠의 과립구 및 조직학적 변화에 미치는 효과

Allergic rhinitis is an allergic reaction characterized by sneezing, coughing, itchy nose, mouth and throat, congestion and/or nasal discharge. The offending allergens are usually pollens, molds, dust mites and animal allergens. We aimed to observe inhibitory effects of Bojungikgi-tang on incerase of the number of eosinophil and neutrophil, and protective effects of nasal mucosal tissue in the allergic rhinitis. 1. In Inhibitory Effect of Bojungikgi-tang on Increase of the number of Eosinophil in Serum, Bojungikgi-tang showed significant effects.(p〈0.05) 2. In Inhibitory Effect of Bojungikgi-tang on Increase of the number of Neutrophil in Serum, Bojungikgi-tang showed significant effects.(p〈0.05) 3. In histopathologic change of nasal mucosal tissue, Bojungikgi-tang showed significant protective effects. Depending upon above results, it is considered that Bojungikgi-tang has the inhibitory effects on the process of allergic rhinitis and that it could be used in reliving patients of the symptoms caused by allergic rhinitis.

小靑龍湯이 알레르기 鼻炎에 미치는 效果에 대한 實驗的 硏究

Allergic rhinitis is an inflammation of the nasal mucosa which is triggered by an allergic reaction. When exposed to certain allergens, the IgE covered mast cells degranulate releasing inflammatory mediators and cytokines which results in a local inflammatory reaction. In many recent studies, molecular biological methods have been used to investigate the role of cytokines in pathogenesis and new therapeutic targets of allergic rhinitis. This experimental study was done to research effects of Sochungryong-tang. We have studied effect of mice on OVA-induced production of IL-4, IL-5, IFN-${\gamma}$ by murine splenocytes and effect of OVA-induced total IgE and OVA-specific IgE. The results were as follows; 1. In IL-4 study, Sochungryong-tang treated group was proved significant inhibitory effect(p〈0.005). 2. In IL-5 study, Sochungryong-tang treated group was proved significant inhibitory effect(p〈0.05). 3. In JFN-${\gamma}$ study, Sochungryong-tang treated group was proved significant inhibitory effect(p〈0.000001). 4. In Total IgE, Sochungryong-tang treated group was proved significant inhibitory effect(p〈0.000001). 5. In OVA-specific IgE, Sochungryong-tang treated group didn't showed significant inhibitory effect. Depending upon above results, it is considered that Sochungryong-tang has the inhibitory effect on the allergic rhinitis of mice and suggested that it could be used in relieving patients of the symptoms which are caused by allergic rhinitis.

안구편위와 진탕을 동반한 현훈 환자 1례

Vertigo is a symptom, not a disease. The tenn vertigo refers to the sensation of spinning or whirling that occurs as a result of a disturbance in balance. It's sometimes referred to as a hallucination of motion. The cause of vertigo is very various and generally divided into peripheral and central. A patient presented with severe vertigo, nystagmus and heteophoria. She has taken the BanHaBaekChulChunMa-tang and treated by acupuncture. After 2 days, her symptoms become disappeared and about 1 week, all symptoms except heterophoria were disapperaed. And after 2 weeks, heterophoria was disappeared. In conclusion, we diagnosed her case as vestbular neuronitis by her clinical course, but we also considered her illness as vertebrobasilar insufficiency, TIA etc.
