Objective: The purpose of this clinical study is to report the case of a 79-year-old man with weakness of the right lower limb due to postzoster femoral nerve palsy. Methods: A patient was treated with Korean medicine, including herbal medication, acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, and bee-venom, during 17 days of hospitalization. We evaluated the improvements of symptoms using manual muscle testing (MMT) and measuring the change in walking distance. Results: After 17 days of Korean medicine treatment, there was improvement in the patient's symptoms. MMT improved from 3- to 5, and walking distance improved from 2 spaces to 120 spaces. Conclusions: This study suggested that Korean medical treatment might be effective in the patient's recovery from postzoster femoral nerve palsy.

New technologies representing the Fourth Industrial Revolution are already being realized in library services. There is not, however, active research on measures to increase work efficiency by introducing a new technology in the work of “classification” that is part of the traditional librarian jobs they should continue in the future. The Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) has not issued a print version since 2018. This study analyzes cases of WebDewey, Classification Web, and UDC Online. The functions required for the development of the Korean Decimal Classification (KDC) web version were derived, and the final functions suitable for the development of the KDC web version were proposed through AHP analysis.

지방자치단체의 기관구성특례에 관한 소고

현행헌법 제117조 및 제118조에서는 지방자치제도의 헌법적 근거를 마련하고 있다. 이 규정에 의하여 지방자치법을 제정하고 개정하여 오면서 그동안 기관대립형인 지방자치단체의 기관구성으로 발달시켜 왔다. 다만, 최근 2022년 신설된 지방자치법 제4조에서는 지방자치단체의 다양한 형태의 기관구성특례를 규정하고 있는데, 이 규정에 의한다면, 주민투표를 거쳐 지방자치단체의 기관구성을 기관통합형으로도 할 수 있다는 의미를 함의하고 있고, 실제로 현재 국회에 여러 법안들이 계류 중에 있다. 예를 들어, 지방자치단체의 기관구성형태변경에 관한 특별법안 제5조 제1항에서는 “지방자치단체의 장은 지방자치법 제107조에도 불구하고 지방의회에서 선출한다.”고 규정하고 있다. “지방자치단체에 동일하게 적용되어 있는 기관구성형태를 다양화할 필요성” “지방자치법에 지방자치단체의 장의 선임방법을 포함한 지방자치단체의 기관구성형태를 따로 법률로 정하는 바에 따라 달리할 수 있도록 하는 근거가 신설” “이에 대한 후속조치로서 지방자치단체의 기관구성형태변경에 관한 특별법을 제정하여 지방자치단체가 변경 가능한 기관구성형태와 변경 절차를 규정함으로써 지방자치단체의 기관구성형태를 해당 지역의 특성과 지역주민의 요구에 맞는 형태로 변경”이라는 제안이유에서도 나타나듯이, 현재 국회에 기관통합형인 지방자치단체의 기관구성에 관한 규정들을 현실적 요청에 의하여 마련하고 있는데, 그동안 우리나라는 지방자치법 제107조, 즉 “지방자치단체의 장은 주민이 보통·평등·직접·비밀선거로 선출한다.”는 규정에 의하여 기관대립형인 지방자치단체로 운영하여 왔다는 점에서, 지방자치법 제4조에 의하여 구성될 수 있는 기관통합형인 지방자치단체와 상호 간에 충돌할 수 있는 제도적 요소는 없는지 이에 대한 연구도 필요한 시점이다.

Nitric Oxide-Induced Autophagy in MC3T3-E1 Cells is Associated with Cytoprotection via AMPK Activation

Nitric oxide (NO) is important in the regulation of bone remodeling, whereas high concentration of NO promotes cell death of osteoblast. However, it is not clear yet whether NO-induced autophagy is implicated in cell death or survival of osteoblast. The present study is aimed to examine the role of NO-induced autophagy in the MC3T3-E1 cells and their underlying molecular mechanism. The effect of sodium nitroprusside (SNP), an NO donor, on the cytotoxicity of the MC3T3-E1 cells was determined by MTT assay and expression of apoptosis or autophagy associated molecules was evaluated by western blot analysis. The morphological observation of autophagy and apoptosis by acridine orange stain and TUNEL assay were performed, respectively. Treatment of SNP decreased the cell viability of the MC3T3-E1 cells in dose- and time-dependent manner. SNP increased expression levels of p62, ATG7, Beclin-1 and LC3-II, as typical autophagic markers and augmented acidic autophagolysosomal vacuoles, detected by acridine orange staining. However, pretreatment with 3-methyladenine (3MA), the specific inhibitor for autophagy, decreased cell viability, whereas increased the cleavage of PARP and caspase-3 in the SNP-treated MC3T3-E1 cells. AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), a major autophagy regulatory kinase, was activated in SNP-treated MC3T3-E1 cells. In addition, pretreatment with compound C, an inhibitor of AMPK, decreased cell viability, whereas increased the number of apoptotic cells, cleaved PARP and caspase-3 levels compared to those of SNP-treated MC3T3-E1 cells. Taken together, it is speculated that NO-induced autophagy functions as a survival mechanism via AMPK activation against apoptosis in the MC3T3-E1 cells.

논문 2 : 메디포스트(주) 제대혈 은행의 제대혈 조혈모세포 이식 사례 분석

1. 연구배경 2001년 3월부터 2008년8월까지 메디포스트에서 시행한 동종 제대혈 이식 사례를 분석하고자 하였다. 2. 방법 2001년 3월부터 2008년 8월까지 메디포스트 제대혈 은행에서 불출되어 국내외 이식센타에서 조혈모세포 이식을 시행한 254예를 대상으로 조혈모세포이식의 유형, 대상질환, 환자 연령, HLA 일치율 등을 분석하였다. 3. 결과 1) HLA 일치 혈연 간 이식: 2예로 동생의 제대혈로 이식 받았으며, 만성 골수성 백혈병(9세)와 재생 불량성 빈혈(4세)이 대상 질환이었다. 2) 자가 이식: 2예로 본인이 태어날 당시 제대혈을 보관하였다가 재생 불량성 빈혈(4세), 신경모세포종(3세)이 각각 발병하여 이식을 하였다. 3) 비혈연간 제대혈 이식 유형: 1단위 이식은 161예(63.9%), 2단위 이상 이식은 91예(36.1%)였다. 4) 비혈연간 제대혈 이식 환자의 대상 질환: 급성 골수성 백혈병(급성 비임파성 백혈병)이 91예(37%), 급성 임파성 백혈병 83예(33%), 재생 불량성 빈혈 10예(4%)이며 기타 질환(ABL, 골수 이형성 증후군, Fanconi 빈혈, Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome. 골석화증Adreno-leukodystrophy, Neuroblastoma, infantile leukemia Congenital Dyserythropoietic anemia, Chronic EBV infection, 급성 양쪽성 백혈병 등)이 47예(18%)이다. 5) 비혈연간 제대혈 이식 환자의 연령: 소아 222예(88%), 성인 30예(12%)로 나타났다. 6) 비혈연간 이식이 이루어진 제대혈의 HLA 일치율: HLA 6/6 match 26unit(8%), 5/6 match 222unit(65%), 4/6 match 93unit(27%), 3/6 match 3unit(1%)였다. 7) 비혈연간 이식이 이루어진 제대혈의 유핵 세포 수 및 CD34 양성 세포 수 분석: 이식 된 제대혈의 환자 체중 당 평균 유핵 세포 수는 3.3 X10(7)/Kg(range 1.0 ~ 7.3), 평균 CD34 양성세포는 1.31X10(5)/Kg(range 0.2 ~ 7.6) 이다. 4. 결론 2003년 15세 이하 소아와 HLA 1~2자리 불일치 제대혈 이식이 보험 급여가 인정되기 시작하면서 2003년부터 제대혈 이식이 증가하였다. 또한 제대혈의 단점인 제한 된 세포 수와 골수에 비해 GVHD가 낮다는 장점으로 인해 2단위 동시 이식이 소아와 성인 모두 증가하였다.

Synthesis of ZnO Tetrapods Using Atmospheric Plasma Jet and Their Size-Dependent Photosensing Properties

We report the synthesis of ZnO tetrapods using an atmospheric-pressure microwave plasma jet system, and analyze their size-dependent photosensing properties. The sizes of the synthesized ZnO tetrapods are controlled by changing the applied plasma power and the distances of their collection sites from the plasma-generation region. The results of high-magnification transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffractometry, and Raman spectroscopy indicate that the synthesized ZnO tetrapods exhibit high crystallinity. In general, the size of ZnO tetrapods increases as the plasma power and distance from the plasma-generation region increase. A photosensing device is fabricated for comparative characterization by dispersing the synthesized ZnO tetrapods in deionized water and spray coating them. The results of the sensing characterization using ultraviolet light illumination show that larger ZnO tetrapods increase the photocurrent, improve the sensitivity, and reduce the sheet resistance of the device.

A case of a 47-year-old male patient with Lt.hand pain & cold sensation due to Thrombotic occlusion of Lt. brachial a. is presented. He was treated with acupuncture, electroacupuncture and herbal medicine - 桂枝茯苓丸(Gyejibongnyeong-hwan, Keishibukuryo-gan). We used NRS of pain and Digital Infrared Thermal Image(DITI) to evaluate the progress. After 11days of treatment, there were notable improvement in pain scale, DITI. Korean medical treatment may be effective in treating thrombotic occlusion.
