          Um diálogo sobre o Outro entre Claude Lévi-Strauss e Hannah Arendt

          This study is initiated with several observations realized in the Brazilian society which is frequently characterized with its vast diversity and peaceful coexistence among its components. However, this unique society is one which is much different from what it portrays. Motivated by these observations, this article tentatively contemplates the question of Otherness as a counterpart of I, aiming at understanding chronic problems such as prejudice and discrimination toward minorities in various contexts and today's ambiguous and unstable individual identity. For a better contemplation on the theme, the paper brings together relevant ideas and beliefs commonly found in Claude Levi-Strauss and Hannah Arendt, constructing a dialogue between two authors. Subsequently, it emphasizes the intrinsic role of education which orients people to communicate in a broader and appropriate way with others and to equip oneself with critical auto-reflection.

          화장품 패키지디자인의 캐릭터 컬래버레이션이 구매에 미치는 영향

          Package design plays an important role as much as the function of product when consumersmake decisions. Cosmetics package design not only protects cosmetic and introduces its functionto consumers, but also stimulates their desire. The trends for emerging of visualization whichincreased products utilizing character collaboration. But, we face lack of studies which comparewith teenage girls and those in their 20s regarding these products. This study defines theconcept of character collaboration and identifies examples. Furthermore, this study indicateshow character collaboration affects consumer's decision to buy. Research design is going intofollows this direction for several reasons. The researcher consisted of several questions toidentify the degree of preference that of recognition, and the willingness to purchase forcharacter-collaborated cosmetics based on similar academic references and examples. Therefore, survey subjects are 140 females from age 12 to age 29. Cosmetic brands are limitedto those with character collaboration among the Top 1-7 brands on domestic sales from 2011 to2017. This research analyzes the degree of recognition, preference and purchase behaviorthrough survey methods. Collected figures are analyzed by SPSS Statistics 23 and the majorstatistic method is frequency analysis and variance analysis. As a result of consumer attitudeanalysis, more than 50% of the whole population shows higher recognition and preference onKorean characters than popular foreign characters, thanks to the effect of SNS. It also tells theway of application is an important factor for middle school students, however, for adults,preference made from personal experience via SNS is most important. The results of the twofactors differ based on the age of consumers. This research will be the cornerstone to contributeto future branding and strategy of cosmetics package design with character collaboration. 제품을 구매할 때 패키지디자인은 제품의 기능만큼이나 중요한 역할을 한다. 화장품 패키지디자인은 화장품을 보호하고 제품의 기능을 소비자에게 잘 전달해 줌과 동시에 구매 욕구를 불러일으키는 역할을 한다. 시각적인 부각을 위한 트렌드 중 화장품 패키지디자인에서 캐릭터 컬래버레이션을 활용한 상품들이 늘어나고 있다. 그러나, 캐릭터 컬래버레이션 화장품에 대해 10대와 20대 여성층을 비교한 연구는 미비한 실정이다. 본 연구는 캐릭터 컬래버레이션의 개념에 대해 정의하고 그 사례에 대해 알아보았으며, 캐릭터 컬래버레이션이 구매에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지에 대하여 연구하였다. 연구 설계는 다음과 같다. 캐릭터 컬래버레이션에 대한 소비자들의 선호도와 구매태도에 관한 문헌 연구 및 사례 연구를 바탕으로 캐릭터 컬래버레이션 화장품에 대한 인지도 및 선호도와 구매 의사를 조사하기 위한 문항을 구성하였다. 설문 대상은 만 12세에서 만 29세 여성 140명이며 화장품 브랜드는2011~2017년 7년간 국내 매출 상위 1~7위 로드숍 중 캐릭터 컬래버레이션상품이 있는 화장품으로 한정하여설문조사를 통해 인지도, 선호도 및 구매 행동을 분석하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS Statistics 23을 사용하여 분석하였으며 주된 통계 방법은 빈도 분석, 분산 분석이다. 캐릭터 컬래버레이션 화장품 패키지디자인에 대한 소비자 태도 분석 결과는 SNS 캐릭터의 영향으로 전체 모집군 50% 이상이 해외 유명 캐릭터들보다 국내 캐릭터에 높은 인지도와 선호도를 보였으며, 전자제품에서의 캐릭터 컬래버레이션 인지도는 비교적 낮았다. 중학생은 캐릭터컬래버레이션의 적용이 중요한 요소였으나, 성인은 SNS의 영향으로 생겨난 개인의 경험에서 생겨난 기호가 중요요인이 된다고 분석된다. 연령별로 선호도와 구매 의사의 영향에서 차이를 나타냄을 알 수 있다. 본 연구 결과는 향후 캐릭터 컬래버레이션 화장품 패키지디자인의 브랜드 및 전략 수립의 근거자료가 될 수 있을 것이다.

          볼리비아의 탈식민프로젝트와상호문화적이중언어교육: 상호문화주의와 파울루 프레이리의‘인간화'를 위한 교육론을 통한 고찰

          This article is an attempt to understand interculturalism, which works as a nuclear principle in the ongoing decolonial project in Latin American countries, in conjunction with Paulo Freire's educational philosophy for humanization, that is, liberation which is the most intensively as well as straightforwardly in Pedagogy of the oppressed. In particular indigenous movements, which have consisted of the decolonial movement of Bolivia, have been a key contributor to Bolivia's most concrete and policy-based implementation of interculturalism than any other country in Latin America. The spirit of intercultualism comes in many ways to the philosophy of Paulo Freire. The fact that the indigenous social movements has made the domain of law, education and politics as the foundation and the aim of realization of interculturalism coincides, in fact, with Paulo Freire's firm belief that the true education, that is, the education that frees human beings has inevitably a political nature. In addition, intercuturalism as a principle differentiating from multiculturalism presented by the ruling class doesn't limit to promoting a mere coexistence of peoples and groups constituting Latin American society with diverse backgrounds and contexts. Rather interculturalism makes it clear that the right to dialogue each other when generating public opinion, to produce knowledge, and to participate in politics ought to be guaranteed to all. A pedagogy which emphasized that the beginning of the fight for the realization of a new world should be taken by the oppressed and that only when doing so (re)humanization of both the oppressed and the oppressors is possible provides a more systematic and practical approach to understanding the interculturalism that is being tested in Bolivian society. 본 논문은 현재 라틴아메리카에서 일고 있는 탈식민프로젝트에서 핵심원리로 작용하는상호문화주의를 파울루 프레이리의 해방, 즉 인간화를 위한 교육론과 맞물려 이해하려는 시도이다. 특히 볼리비아 탈식민운동의 중심을 이루고 있는 원주민운동은 볼리비아가 그 어떤 나라보다 상호문화주의를 가장 구체적이고 정책적인 형태로 구현하도록 하는 데 핵심적인 기여를해 왔다. 상호문화주의의 정신은 많은 부분에서 파울루 프레이리의 철학과 맞닿는다. 원주민사회운동이 상호문화주의 실현의 토대와 지향점을 법과 교육, 그리고 정치의 영역으로 삼고 있음은 실제로 프레이리가 줄곧 주장했던 진정한 교육, 다시 말해 인간을 자유케 하는 교육이 필연적으로 정치적 성격을 가질 수밖에 없다는 것과 일치한다. 또한 지배계층에 의해 제시된 기존의 다문화주의와는 차별화되는 원리로서의 상호문화주의는 라틴아메리카 사회를 구성하는 다양한 배경과 맥락에 놓은 성원들이 대등한 위치에 공존하는 데 그치지 않고, 공론의 영역에서서로 대화하고, 지식을 생산해 내고, 정치에 참여할 권리를 가져야 함을 분명히 한다. (재)인간화를 통한 새로운 세계의 실현을 위한 싸움의 시작이 억눌린 자여야 하며, 그렇게 될 때 비로소 억눌린 자와 억누르는 자 모두의 인간화가 가능하다고 역설한 프레이리의 교육론은 볼리비아를 중심으로 한 현실 무대에서 한창 실험되고 있는 상호문화주의의를 이해하는 데 있어 보다체계적이고 실제적인 접근을 가능하게 해 준다.

          브라질의 정치적 세속성( laicidade)과 공교육의 세속성

          This article aims to examine the process of laicization of the State and the implementation of that principle in the public education in Brazil, and elaborate the key concept ‘laicity'. It is important to address the issue because it is frequent to see that the degree of laicization of the State, in particular, the non-participation of the Catholic Church in public education as one of the goals of modernity in Brazil. Furthermore, the concept of laic State is being explored and used with more frequency and by minority groups in more and more diversified terms. Este artigo tem como objetivo examinar o processo de laicização do Estado brasileiro e a implementação de tal princípio na arena do ensino público e elaborar a conceituação minunciosa dos termos ‘laicidade' do estado. É importante tratar do assunto porque é frequente citar o grau da laicidade do Estado, em particular, a não-participação da Igreja Católica do ensino público como uma das metas da modernidade no Brasil assim como nos outroso países da América Latina. Além disso, o conceito de estado laico vem sendo explorado cada vez mais frequentemente e pelos grupos minoritários em cada vez mais variados termos com o fim de defender seus interesses.

          Global Educational Experience and L2 Learning Motivation of Korean College Students

          The aim of this study is twofold: first, to investigate the effects of global educational activities on college students' L2 learning motivation in a Korean EFL context; second, to illuminate the relationship among motivational components more clearly. Quantitative analyses were conducted with 59Korean college students who joined 2 different kinds of global activities:volunteering work programs and an English language program. The results of this study suggest that both groups showed a significantly enhanced level of international posture, ideal L2 self, and intended effort toward learning English, even though there were differences of degrees in the ideal L2 self and intended learning effort, but not in the international posture. It is speculated that the different durations of the programs made these differences. In addition, a conclusion was drawn from this result that international posture,the attitudinal openness to foreigners, is an antecedent of visualizing a more clear future L2 self image, and ideal L2 self was the stronger predictor of being a successful L2 learner who put forth more intended L2 learning effort than international posture.

          A brasilidade construída via e em detrimento da sua diversidade

          Este trabajo tiene como objetivo reflexionar sobre cómo la diversidad se ha desarrollado en un intento de construir el brasileñidad, una identidad nacional, cuestionando así el problema de la desigualdad, la cara oscura de esta diversidad. Para eso, el presente artículo explora: en primer lugar, el contexto en que se produjo el gran flujo de inmigración extranjera que forma la faceta multicultural de Brasil hoy en día, y en segundo lugar, como el Estado y sus élites políticas se han ocupado de esta diversidad. A diferencia de lo que se ha propagado en la retórica política en Brasil y de la imagen, la historia del Brasil muestra que la diversidad ni siempre ha sido reconocida como un valor. Los datos muestran que el tema de la diversidad, asociada a la pluralidad cultural, nunca se discutió abiertamente en los discursos políticos, así como en la enseñanza pública con la frecuencia y el impacto que el mismo tiene en el contexto actual. A pesar de ser una gran verdad el hecho de que la diversidad marca la vida social brasileña, el complejo proceso que presente la diversidad de la vida brasileña es ignorado y/o caracterizado de un modo erróneo. La escuela también ha propagado hace mucho tiempo prejuicio de diversas formas, y se mantuvo en silencio o ha minimizado la presencia de la diversidad. This paper aims to reflect on how the diversity of the Brazilian society has been developed in an attempt to build the Brazilianness, one national identity, thus questioning the inequality problem, the dark face of such diversity. For this, the article explores, first, the context in which the great foreign immigration flow occurred, forming the multicultural facet of Brazil today, and second, how the State and its political elites have dealt with such diversity. Unlike what has been propagated in the political rhetoric in Brazil, the diversity has not always been recognized as having a value. The data show that the theme of diversity, associated with cultural plurality, was never discussed openly in political and pedagogic speeches with the frequency and the impact that it has in today's context. Despite being a great truth the fact that diversity marks the Brazilian social life, the complex process that diversity presents in Brazilian life has been ignored and/or mischaracterized. The school also has long spread prejudice in various forms, and kept silent or minimized the presence of diversity.

          16-18세기 아마존 일반어(Língua Geral Amazônica)의 탄생과 확장: 원주민의 말에서 정복의 언어로

          Língua Geral Amazônica was an official language that functioned for colonization of the Amazon through the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. It was originated from the Tupi or Tupinambá, an inidigenous tribal language, but went through a process of being systematized and detribalized by the Jesuits, which consolidated its position as a standard language of power. In this process, the other indigenous tribes were treated as a single unit called tapuia, and later al indigenous people, whether Tupi or Tapuia, were generalized as Índio Genérico. Currently, the language which has been called Nhengatu since the nineteenth century is still present in the northern part of the Amazon. The aim of this study is to understand what kind of communication was intended by the Portuguese colonizers when they adopted the Língua Geral and promoted its use for colonization of the region. For that purpose, I examine the historical process through which the Tupinambá language was transformed from a coloquial indigenous language to a language of conquest until the mid-eighteenth century. The reason for such delimitation is that the language lost its official position as a general language for communication in 1757 when the Marquis of Pombal prohibited its use. The point of departure for this study is the problematic question concerning the modern Nheengatu, which has recently taken on the symbolic meaning of the indigenous peoples' struggle for decolonization as well as for the restoration of indigenous identity in Brazil. The paradox exists because although it was created based on an indigenous language, it apparently was the language of conquest in the colonial period. Thus, in this study, by focusing on a series of interpretations on the Língua Geral and its position attributed by the Portuguese colonizers during this period, I estimate how and toward which direction Nheengatu and indigenous related research should develop in the current context.

          Lung torsion after tracheoesophageal fistula repair in an infant

          Lung torsion is a very rare event that has been reported in only 9 cases in the pediatric literature but has not yet been reported in Korean infants. We present a case of lung torsion after tracheoesophageal fistula repair in an infant. Bloody secretion from the endotracheal tube and chest radiographs and computed tomographic scan results indicated lung torsion. Emergency exploration indicated 180°torsion of the right upper lobe (RUL) and right middle lobe (RML). After detorsion of both lobes, some improvement in the RUL color was observed, but the color change in the RML could not be determined. Although viability of the RML could not be proven, pexy was performed for both the lobes. Despite reoperation, clinical signs and symptoms did not improve. The bronchoscopy revealed a patent airway in the RUL but not in the RML. Finally, the RML was surgically removed. The patient was discharged on the 42nd day after birth.

          A Study on Routine Formulas and Downgraders of Request Act in Middle School English Textbooks

          This paper examines middle school English textbooks to ascertain if they appropriately reflect the kinds and frequencies of routine formulas and downgraders of request act used by English native speakers. For the analysis, 9 series of currently available middle school English textbooks under the 7th National Curriculum were selected. Each series of textbooks contains 3 school grade textbooks as middle school English 1, middle school English 2, and middle school English 3. The results show that most textbooks demonstrate an adequate reflection of the actual use of request strategies and downgraders by English native speakers, while several textbooks represent some deficiency. The deficiency partly comes from the lack of diversity in the interlocutors' relationships, and it results in insufficient language data in the kinds and frequencies of request strategies and downgraders in the textbooks. More polite forms of commonly used routine formulas are not presented adequately in many textbooks. It is suggested that textbook developers and English educators need to work out countermeasures for the textbooks which appeared to have insufficient authentic language data.
