This task is to derive the Hamiltonian equations of motion for BMW 323i vehicle. The kinematic relationships are defined. The cut constraint equations are derived. The Hamiltonian equation of motion are developed. The constant mass matrices are identified. The cut constraint equations are stabilized. The stabilized constraint equations are used to derive the relationships between the independent and dependent coordinates. The Hamiltonian equations of motion are reduced only in terms of the independent generalized coordinates.

Mechanical fastened joints are widely used for joining structural parts. In estimating the reliability of the bolted joint, the prediction of failure life is the most important failure mode to be considered. This paper presents a method for determining the fatigue life of bolted SAPH45 steel structures used extensively in truck vehicle frames. First the fastening torque on bolted joints in the structure is determined by a vibration test. Under such torque, the stress distribution factor is based on the consideration of the failure characteristics from the tensile test and the fatigue life of the bolted joint is predicted using lethargy coefficient as total defect estimation coefficient.

This paper develops a sequential updating method of the Euler parameter generalized coordinates for the machine kinematics and dynamics, The Newton's method is slightly modified so as to utilize the Jacobian matrix with respect to the virtual rotation instead of this with repect to the Euler parameters. An intermediate variable is introduced and the modified Newton's method solves for the variable first. Relational equation of the intermediate variable is then solved for the Euler parameters. The solution process is carried out efficiently by symoblic inversion of the relational equation of the intermediate variable and the iteration equation of the Euler parameter nor-malizatin constraint. The proposed method is applied to a kinematic and dynamic analysis with the Generalized Coordinate Partitioning method. Convergence analysis is performed to guarantee the local convergence of the proposed method. To demonstrate the validity and practicalism of the proposed method, kinematic analysis of a motion base system and dynamic analysis of a vehicle are carried out.<br/>
