In recent years, a lot of research was done for earth fault protection in ungrounded dc power supply system. As a result, selective-breaking integrated protective relaying system is developed in progress and is currently field-testing are planned. Algorithm on a PC using PSCAD done a lot of testing before performing field tests, but in this study developed algorithms and functions needed to determine whether they were operating normally. Therefore, simulated system is similar to the actual situation was required and made. selective-breaking algorithm verification and validation was performed with simulator.

In order to advance and improve the performance of domestic aged power plants, IEDs have been developed for power generation systems. For smooth installation and operation of the protection relays, a detail settings study of IED is required. This paper deals with an analysis based on PSCAD and setting investigation of IED for loss of field, reverse power protection in Small Hydro Generation System.
Mitigation of Low Frequency AC Ripple in Single-Phase Photovoltaic Power Conditioning Systems
이상회,안태풍,차한주 전력전자학회 2010 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.10 No.3
A photovoltaic power conditioning system (PV PCS) that contains single–phase dc/ac inverters tends to draw an ac ripple current at twice the output frequency. Such a ripple current perturbs the operating points of solar cells continuously and it may reduce the efficiency of the current based maximum power point tracking technique (CMPPT). In this paper, the ripple current generation in a dc link and boost inductor is analyzed using the ac equivalent circuit of a dc/dc boost converter. A new feed-forward ripple current compensation method to incorporate a current control loop into a dc/dc converter for ripple reduction is proposed. The proposed feed-forward compensation method is verified by simulation and experimental results. These results show a 41.8 %reduction in the peak-to peak ac ripple. In addition, the dc/ac inverter control system uses an automatic voltage regulation (AVR)function to mitigate the ac ripple voltage effect in the dc link. A 3kW PV PCS prototype has been built and its experimental results are given to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.

In order to respond with the power consumption caused by the spread of eco-friendly vehicles and the expansion of data centers, it is necessary to increase the generation of new and renewable energy and provide stable power. In order that, it is necessary to configure a multi-terminal DC grid to effectively manage the AC/DC hybrid grid operation and the connection between the DC systems. DC circuit breaker that can be separated from the accident system is needed to minimize the impact at the fault and the stable operation of the multi-terminal DC grid. In this paper, we propose a hybrid DC circuit breaker that performs the blocking operation by creating a current zero crossing by injecting a reverse current. The current formula is explained through the order and analysis of the topology blocking operation. And the performance of the topology was verified by modeling and simulation the reverse current injection topology through PSCAD/EMTDC.

Recently, Korean railways are adding a new of high-speed trains. Harmonics generated by the train may increase harmonics of feeder and incoming facilities, which can affect overheating, increased loss, and life reduction. To reduce harmonics, the harmonics of the current facilty must be measured. However, it is difficult to measure due to time and safety issues. This paper presents a method to analyze the voltage harmonics generated at the feeder and incoming using the current harmonics generated by the train. Accordingly, voltage harmonics may be identified at a corresponding position without measuring the input supplier. To verify the validity of the proposed technique, it was modeled using PSCAD/EMTED and simulated and calculated values were compared
