        유해 남조류의 세계적 발생현황 및 녹조제어를 위한 질소와 인-제한 전략

        Increased harmful algal blooms by cyanobacteria are threatening public health andlimiting human activities related with freshwater ecosystems. Phosphorus (P) has long beensuggested as a critical nutrient for cyanobacterial bloom through field research in Canada duringthe 1970s, proposing a P-based freshwater management guideline. However, recently, nitrogen(N) has also been highlighted as an impacting nutrient on cyanobacterial harmful algal blooms(CyanoHABs). Due to the intensive and frequent observation of Microcystis, this kind of paradigmshift from P limitation to season-dependent N or P limitation has an important implication for adual nutrient management strategy in eutrophic freshwaters. Through recent internationalresearches, general strategies to control CyanoHABs in lakes and reservoirs are as follows: a dualnutrient (N & P) reduction, wastewater collection and treatment, pre-treatment of influent waterin buffer zones, dredging of sediment, reduction of residence time, algal collection, and precipitationand flocculation of cyanobacteria. In addition, sustainable and integrative freshwater algaemanagement should be carried out, based on the ecological aspect, because cyanobacteria are notthe target organism to be eradicated, but an essential microbial member in the freshwaterecosystem.

        기업의 사회적 책임(CSR)과 지속가능경영은 같은가, 다른가: 개념사를 중심으로 한 두 용어의 변별적 이해

        A new management paradigm which consider business organizations as corporate citizens is spreading out, taking count of all company stakeholders equally and seeking financial and non-financial performance simultaneously. CSR and Sustainability Management are using extensively as a term of new management trend to differentiate from existing one. CSR and Sustainability Management are used as a practically same meaning in the various economic fields. However, the work to distinguish CSR from Sustainability Management precisely by meaning is necessary for establishing a new management paradigm even though CSR and Sustainability Management are same in essence. In this article, we got a deduction process to the concept of CSR and Sustainability Management through checking the conceptual history briefly. Furthermore, we tried to understand those as a independent management system distinctively. In conclusion, CSR and Sustainability Management are two different approaches that each has different point of view in a same phenomenon and describes the phenomenon complementarily. Especially, Sustainability Management is focused on the result around TBL, while CSR is concentrated on the process around the stakeholders. Additionally, Korean companies prefer the word ‘Sustainability’ to ‘Responsibility’ for a name of the social reporting by 2012. It can be explained as the Korean companies’ vulgarized understanding of CSR and Sustainability Management. 이해관계자를 두루 배려하고 재무성과와 비재무성과를 동시에 추구하며 스스로 기업시민으로 자각하는 새로운 경영 패러다임이 확산하고 있다. 기존 흐름과 차별되는 새로운 경영의 흐름을 지칭하는 용어로 ‘기업의 사회적 책임(CSR)’과 ‘지속가능경영(Sustainability Management)’이 널리 쓰이고 있다. 경제현장에서 두 개념은 특별한 구분 없이 사실상 같은 개념으로 통용되고 있다. CSR과 지속가능경영이 본질상 같은 개념이라 하여도 그 의미차이를 엄밀하게 추적하는 작업은, 새로운 경영 패러다임을 정착시키기 위해서라도 필요하다. 이 논문은 간략하게 개념사를 살펴보며 두 개념의 도출과정을 파악하였고, 더불어 독자적 경영시스템으로서 변별적으로 이해하고자 노력하였다. 결론적으로 CSR과 지속가능경영은 같은 현상을 다른 관점에서 설명하는 두 가지 접근법이며, 상호보완적으로 이 현상을 그려낸다. 특히 CSR이 이해관계자를 중심으로 과정과 절차에 초점을 맞추었다면, 지속가능경영은 성과(TBL)를 중심으로 결과에 더 주목하였다. 이와 함께 한국 기업들이 2012년까지 발간한 사회보고를 분석한 결과, 보고서 명칭에서 책임보다는 지속가능을 선호한 모습은 지속가능경영과 CSR에 대한 속류(俗流)적 이해를 보여준 것으로 풀이된다.

        루푸스 환자에서 발생한 Kikuchi-Fujimoto병

        Kikuchi-Fujimoto's disease (KFD) is a rare self-limiting necrotizing lymphadenitis found mainly in young women. Patients typically present with lymphadenopathy and often with a high fever. The etiology of the disease remains unknown, but various infection and autoimmune processes have been postulated to be the cause. We report here on a 22-year-old female with 7-year history of systemic lupus erythematosus presented with high fever and many enlarged cervical lymph nodes. Neck computed tomography scan showed multiple lymphadenopathies and KFD was proven by under sonographic guidance percutaneous needle biopsy.

        Alternative Alert System for Cyanobacterial Bloom, Using Phycocyanin as a Level Determinant

        Chlorophyll a concentration and cyanobacterial cell density are regularly employed as dual criteria for determinations of the alert level for cyanobacterial bloom. However, chlorophyll a is not confined only to the cyanobacteria, but is found universally in eukaryotic algae. Furthermore, the determination of cyanobacterial cell counts is notoriously difficult, and is unduly dependent on individual variation and trained skill. A cyanobacteria-specific parameter other than the cell count or chlorophyll a concentration is, accordingly, required in order to improve the present cyanobacterial bloom alert system. Phycocyanin has been shown to exhibit a strong correlation with a variety of bloom-related factors. This may allow for the current alert system criteria to be replaced by a three-stage alert system based on phycocyanin concentrations of 0.1, 30, and 700 μg/L. This would also be advantageous in that it would become far more simple to conduct measurements without the need for expensive equipment, thereby enabling the monitoring of entire lakes more precisely and frequently. Thus, an alert system with superior predictive ability based on highthroughput phycocyanin measurements appears feasible.

        Chimera 생쥐의 생산

        These experiments were carried out to develop new technique essential for the production of chimeric animals. Embryos obtained from inbred ICR, C3H and C57BL mouse were subjected to in vitro aggregation and aggregated chimeric embryos were developed to blastocysts and then transferred to pseudopregnant recipients. The results obtained were summarized as follows; 1. Production rate of live young following transfer of intact mouse morula to the uterus of recipient mouse on day 2,3 and 4 of pseudopregnancy wre 24.7, 61.9 and 21.8%, respectively, and those of intact morula transferred on 3,4 and 5 days of pseudopregnancy were 58.8, 63.4 and 17.3%, respectively. 2. Chimeric mouse embryos produced by in vitro aggregation of two embryos of the same stage and developed to morula or blastocyst by in vitro culture were transferred to pseudopregnat recipients and 12.2 and 9.2% of chimeric morulas and blastocysts transferred were developed to live chimeric young. 3. Among transferred multiple chimeric mouse embryos produced by in vitro aggregation of 3 to 7 embryos, 9.6% were developed to live chimeric young. 4. Of total 236 chimeric embryos prouced by the aggregation of two embryos of different stage, 78.8% were developed to normal chimeric blastocyst by in vitro culture.
