The purpose of this paper is to contrast the word classes of Korean and English from a typological perspective. "Word class" here does not mean simply the traditional parts of speech. It also includes the word groups which are not classified as separate word classes in individual grammar, but are nevertheless important and meaningful in linguistic typology and foreign language teaching. Some remarkable differences are observed in the two languages. In Korean the distinction between verbs and adjectives is not clear. English conjunctions are expressed in Korean through verbal endings or postpositions. Korean pronouns have an open system, whereas the English language has a closed pronoun system. English is a prepositional language and Korean is a postpositional language. In contrast to English, ideophones and classifiers are well developed, but articles are not identified in Korean.

A post-processing program based on the OOP(object-oriented programming) concept has been developed for flow visualization of the flow analysis code(PowerCFD) using unstructured cell-centered method. User-friendly GUI(graphic user interface) has been built on the base of MFC(Microsoft Foundation Class). The program is organized as modules by classes based on VTK-library, and these classes are made to function through inheritance and cooperation which is an important and valuable concept of object-oriented programming. The major functions of this post-processor program are introduced and demonstrated, which include mesh plot, contour plot, vector plot, surface plots, cut plot, clip plot, xy-plot, animation and streamline plot as well as view manipulation (translation, rotation, scaling etc).
