제주 천연자원 감을 모티브로 한 유·아동복 텍스타일 디자인 연구

The natural resources of Jeju are recognized as the new regional image of that clean island. Reflecting these trends, this study is initiated to develop a textile design with the motive of persimmon, a natural resource of Jeju, and to apply it to infant’s and children’s clothes. Its purpose is to highlight the image of persimmon, a traditional dye, as a regional signature for Jeju. Product development procedure included, understanding the use of persimmon for fashion products, analyzing Infants’ and Children’s designer collections over the last three seasons (focused on 2014S/S, 2015S/S, and 2016S/S), and surveying the Children’s Clothes market for persimmon dyeing in Jeju. The conclusion was that, the natural resources of Jeju are highly valuable, and should be applied to textile design and apparel products for children. Utilizing Jeju persimmon was actively studied, but, the market for the Jeju persimmon natural - dyeing products is extremely limited. Moreover, the apparel products for infants and children represent old-fashioned styles, despite their higher prices. Therefore, using the formative characteristics of persimmon for each theme was suggested for development of patterns for textile design. Pattern designs were expressed using textured textile screen-printing, embroidery and appliqué for infants’ and children’s clothes. In this study, a total of 10 items were prepared as apparel products for infants and children. All items were designed considering mix-and-match, potential, with each other or with regular mass-market products. These results are expected to contribute to highlighting the unique image of Jeju and to help promote fashion culture products.

Conventional nonsurgical management of severe obesity in the pediatric population and adolescents has focused on a multidisciplinary approach involving diet, exercise, behavioral modification, and to some extent, pharmaceuticals. Although nonsurgical strategies provide a certain degree of effective weight reduction, most of the severely obese adolescents suffer from a high relapse rate. In recent studies, long-term outcomes of bariatric surgery for severely obese adolescents have shown sustainable effects on weight loss and resolution of related comorbidities, such as hypertension and type 2 diabetes mellitus in this vulnerable age group. Notably, the role and practical benefits of bariatric surgery as a multidisciplinary therapeutic approach to adolescent obesity is gaining attention and acceptance. However, a surgical approach has many obstacles that prevent the timely evaluation and optimal intervention for adolescent obesity and its comorbidities. In the present review, the latest data on long-term outcomes after bariatric surgery for severely obese adolescents in terms of durability, effects on metabolic risk factors, complications, and optimal timing were summarized. The results showed the sustainability of weight loss and comorbidity resolution in adolescents following bariatric surgery. In addition, earlier surgery in patients without an extremely high body mass index increases the likelihood of a healthier life in adulthood. This review can help clarify the beneficial effects of bariatric surgery on weight reduction and resolution of comorbidities in severely obese adolescents and remove the barriers to referral of adolescents for bariatric surgery.
Clinicopathological Analysis of 21 Thymic Neuroendocrine Tumors
안수민,한정호,이재준,하상윤,김진국 대한병리학회 2012 Journal of Pathology and Translational Medicine Vol.46 No.3
Background: Thymic neuroendocrine carcinomas (NECs) are uncommon, for which there is no established information available because of a limited number of epidemiological study in Asia. Methods: We reviewed 21 cases of surgically resected thymic NECs, and evaluated their pathological and clinical features. Results: It showed male predominance (male/female ratio, 15/6) with wide age range from 20 to 72 years (mean age, 49 years). All 21 cases were divided into two types according to the World Health Organization criteria: atypical carcinoid (n=18) and large cell NEC (n=3). Three cases of atypical carcinoid (AC) were associated with ectopic Cushing’s syndrome. All the patients (3/3) with large cell NEC (3/3) and 16.7% (3/18) of those with AC died of tumor progression. Common sites of metastasis included lung, lymph node, brain, lumbar spine, mediastinum, bone, and liver. Conclusions: In conclusion, thymic neuroendocrine tumors carry a poor prognosis. Regarding the tumor classification, our results showed that a vast majority of carcinoids in the thymus correspond to ACs. In addition, our results also indicate that typical carcinoid is a very rare entity. Some cases of AC exhibited a large size, solid pattern and they showed aggressive clinical behavior, which highlights the spectrum of histologic appearances of thymic NECs.

Graft polymer with highly sulfonated side chain and hydrophobic poly(arylene ether sulfone) backbone has been developed for fuel cell application. The side chain was first synthesized via condensation polymerization with very reactive halogen compound at one end. The synthesized side chain oligomer was then sulfonated with fuming sulfuric acid. The backbone was synthesized via condensation polymerization with hydroxyl groups attached on the side of the rigid polymer. The hydroxyl group reacts with the halogen compound of the side chain when grafted. The structure and the molecular weight of the side chain and the backbone were determined by 1H-NMR. The graft polymer can be synthesized with different variation of ion exchange capacity by controlling the molecular weights of the side chain and the backbone. The graft polymer showed satisfying results in conductivity, dimensional stability, water uptake, and fuel cell performance.
Comparative Proteomic Profile of Canine Uterus with Pyometra
안수민,Venu Venkatarame Gowda Saralamma,Preethi Vetrivel,한현정,박진호,정동인,김곤섭,유도현 한국임상수의학회 2021 한국임상수의학회지 Vol.38 No.1
Pyometra, a common disorder in intact bitches, can lead to canine sepsis. Identification of biomarkers for sources of infection in the uterus using two-dimensional electrophoresis (2-DE)-mass spectrometry (MS) analysis may enable the discovery of novel diagnostic markers of sepsis. Toward this end, surgically resected uterus samples from four bitches (three pyometra and one healthy) were randomly selected for 2-DE-MS, which identified 32 differentially expressed proteins, including seven inflammatory proteins, five non-inflammatory proteins, and 20 functionally unknown proteins. Despite the limited information on canine uterus proteomics, we suggest the potential use of differentially expressed uterus proteins as candidate biomarkers to discover targets to attenuate inflammation in pyometra. Further identification of the functionally unknown proteins is warranted.
