Industry and Spatial Spillover Effects of R&D Expenditure in Food Manufacturing IndustryDong-Hwan An* Sang-Jun Lee**Seoul National University*, Michigan State University**Relying on a frontier production approach (e.g., Luenberger’s shortage function), this study investigated the effects of R&D expenditure on the performance of individual firms in food processing industry. Particularly, we examined the simultaneous presence of spatial and industrial R&D spillover effects associated with the externalities of R&D investment in this industry. The estimation results showed that R&D investment at both industry and regionallevel plays an important role to improve the performance of individual firms in food manufacturing industry. We also found some evidences on the existence of significant inter- and intra-industryand inter-regional spillover effects of R&D investment in this industry. 본 연구는 우리나라 식품제조업의 개별기업자료를 이용하여 개별기업의 R&D 투자의 산업 및 공간 파급효과를 분석하였다. 분석방법으로는 생산경계접근법의 하나인 자료포락분석(DEA)기법을 이용하여 개별기업의 효율성을 추정하고, 효율성의 차이를 설명하는 계량모형을 추정하는 2단계 접근법을 이용하였다. 추정결과 식품제조업의 경우 연구개발(R&D) 투자는 산업 및 지역단위에서 모두 개별기업의 생산성에 중요한 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 연구개발 투자는 식품제조업 내의 세부산업간 그리고 지역간에 파급효과를 가지는 것으로 추정되었다.

The purpose of this paper is to account for the syntactic distribution of English adverbs, the properties they have and the formal licensing conditions they obey. Specifically, it critically reviews some major analyses of the structural integration and licensing of English adverbs proposed within the theoretical framework of the Minimalist Program and discusses some of their potential problems. The Minimalist proposals assume that the semantic classes of adverbs, their canonical linear order and their scope properties are defined syntactically in relation to the clause structure which is conceived as a unique and universal hierarchy of functional projections with each projection having its own specific semantic interpretation. Adverbs integrate into clause structure as unique specifiers of designated functional projections and thus enter into transparent semantic relations with the head of the functional projection they occur in. As its background, this study also makes a brief survey of major issues in the syntax and semantics of English adverbs in generative grammar in general and of theoretical and empirical problems of the adjunction-based analyses proposed specifically in the GB/PPT theory.

춘천 ‘외바퀴수레싸움’을 통한 八關會와 중국 廟會의 연관성 연구

본 연구는 춘천의 외바퀴수레싸움을 매개로 고려 八關會와 중국 廟會의 연관성을연구한 것이다. 춘천의 외바퀴수레싸움은高麗史睿宗때의 기록과 신숭겸의 후손인申欽이 지은「高麗太師壯節申公忠烈碑幷序」를 통해 신숭겸과 김락의 偶像이 말을타고 뜰을 뛰어다녔던 고려 八關會때의 雜戱에서 유래되었을 것으로 추정된다. 그러나 외바퀴수레의 세부적인 형태와 싸움 방식은東國歲時記의 아주 짧은 기록 외에 다른 문헌에서는 기록이 아직 발견되고 있지 않기 때문에 자세히 알 수가 없다. 다만, 춘천의 외바퀴수레싸움과 유사한 놀이인 경상북도 안동의 차전놀이와 광주광역시 남구 칠석동의 고싸움놀이를 통해 추정해 볼 수는 있다. 모두 힘으로 밀어붙이면 이기는 방식이다. 따라서 필자는 수레싸움은 ‘밀기형’이었으며, 수레 형태는 밀기에 쉽도록 끝이 납작했던 ‘납작형’이었을 것으로 판단한다. 중국 묘회의 구성 요건과고려 팔관회에 관한高麗史와高麗史節要의 기록을 대입시켜 팔관회와 묘회의 연관성을 고찰한 결과 會期, 主祭者, 神靈, 祭場, 祭時, 祭儀, 연행 활동, 경제교류 활동등에서 모두 공통점이 매우 많아 상호 깊은 연관성이 있음을 실증할 수 있었다.

This second stage study on the Wild and Scenic Rivers System is a proposal for system disignation. Study area is the part of the Han River flowing through the Seoul Metropolitan Region. Consequently, developpment pressure and demand for recreational land uses along the river are very high, and that is why the Wild and Scenic rivers System is urgently needed for the Han River among other major rivers of the nation. Resource inventory and assessment followed the process developed in the first stage study. Figure-4 shows the proposed Wild and Scenic Rivers System designation, Also proposed are manage-ment guidelines and legal, organizational arrangement.
