The object of this study is to investigate the relationship between the air dilution sensory test and the threshold odor number (TON) method for evaluating the odor of domestic wastewater, plating plant wastewater, food plant wastewater and lake water. The dilution factor of raw wastewater evaluated by the air dilution sensory test was in the order of food plant > plating plant > domestic > lake, and that evaluated by the threshold odor number method was in the order of food plant > domestic > plating plant > lake. The same results were obtained when the raw wastewater and lake water were diluted 2 and 5 times with pure water. The relative geometric standard deviation determined from the threshold values of each panel on the air dilution sensory test was much larger than that calculated from results derived from the threshold odor number method. The relative geometric standard deviation obtained from samples with a low dilution factor was greater. There was a very good linear correlation (correlation coefficient = 0.968~1.000) between the air dilution sensory test and the threshold odor number method. But, the reduction in odor intensity (the slopes of regression curves) by dilution was dependent on the types of the odor-emission sources.

According to some researches, subtitle might be believed to be effective on foreign language learning. This study investigated the effect of using movie subtitles on enhancing learners’ vocabulary in Korea. For this study, 106 middle school students and 48 high school students were selected as subjects. Middle school students were divided into three groups and so were the high school students. Three Walt Disney’s animations were adapted to them. Each animation was shown to the subjects in three ways; with Korean subtitles, with English subtitles, and without subtitles. To examine the effect of subtitles on vocabulary enhancement, vocabulary tests were conducted from each animation. The result of the analysis of the administered tests suggested that using subtitles has little effect on vocabulary enhancement. And the type of subtitles, Korean or English, has little effect, either.

본 논문에서는 번화가나 관광지 등 주차공간의 수요가 높은 지역에서 주차하면서 발생할 수 있는 불편함을 해결하기 위해 개발한 주차안내 서비스를 소개한다. 실제 주차장을 측정하고 자동차를 운전하면서 개발하는 데 어려움이 있어, 임시 주차장을 만들고 Arduino RC Car를 만들어서 실제 자동차를 대신하였다. Open CV를 기반으로 한 영상처리로 전체 주차장, 주차 가능 공간, 주차 완료된 공간을 확인하고 움직이는 자동차를 추적할 수 있도록 하였으며, 이 정보를 사용자가 애플리케이션을 통해 확인할 수 있도록 개발하였다. 사용자는 애플리케이션을 통해 원하는 주차공간을 예약할 수 있으며, 길 찾기 알고리즘을 도입하여 선택한 주차 칸까지의 최적 경로를 안내받을 수 있다. This paper introduces the parking guide service developed to address the inconvenience of parking in areas where demand for parking spaces is high, such as busy streets and tourist attractions. Due to difficulties in measuring and developing the actual parking lot while driving the car, we created a temporary parking lot and created Arduino RC Car to replace the actual car. Video processing based on Open CV allows users to identify the entire parking lot, parking space, and completed parking space, and track moving cars, and this information has been developed to enable users to see through the application. The application allows the user to book the desired parking space and introduce a way-finding algorithm to guide them through the optimal path to the selected parking compartment.

Objectives: We have examined the relaxational response to the water extract of Rheum palmatum L. (ERP), R undulatum L. (ERU) and its components in isolated thoracic aorta from sprague dawley (SD) rat. Methods: Rat thoracic aorta was investigated in vessel segments suspended for isometric tension recording by polygraph. Responses to ERP and ERU were investigated in vessels precontracted with 5-hydroxytryptamine. We found that the thoracic aorta segments responded to the water extract of ERP and ERU with a dose-dependent vasorelaxation. Results: We found that 1. The thoracic aorta segments responded to ERP and ERU with a dose-dependent vasodilation. 2. The 5-HT induced contraction at 10-4M were inhibited by 85.8% and 64.4% after addition of the 0.1 g/mL water extract of ERP and ERU. 3. The 5-HT induced contraction at 10-3M were inhibited by 100% after 10-3M emodin. 4. The amounts of emodin were 3.15% and 2.26% in Rheum palmatum L. and R. undulatum L, respectable. Conclusion: In conclusion, ERP and ERU induced relaxation in the isolated rat thoracic aorta were composed of dose-dependent relaxation and it's major component, emodin, has potent vasodilation.

This study aims at examining the effective application of task-based and integrated language learning for developing English reading ability and motivation in high school classrooms in Korea. 141 high school students were selected as subjects and divided into two groups. For 10 weeks, the subjects in the experimental group were given lessons using task-based and integrated language learning while those in the control group were given lessons using English reading strategies. This study reached the conclusion that task-based and integrated language learning was helpful for improving English reading ability and had positive effects on inducing students' interests to study English. However, teachers need to be more cautious in selecting tasks and proceeding the process to motivate students, and make sure that preparatory activities should be done before reading passages. If continuous efforts are made by teachers and better organized lesson plans are prepared, teachers can come up with more effective and positive results.
