Men’s fashion came to show a new tendency due to the introduction of functional forms, practical material and the like with the Industrial Revolution and was greatly influenced by all sorts of mass media. In the 21th century, the new value view and aesthetic consciousness are emerging in diverse forms with the rapidly changing social structure and diverse cultural exchange. Especially, the disintegrative phenomenon was demolished as dichotomous masculinity and feminity expressed the confusion and absence of sex. With this disintegrative sociocultural background, the male image of the 21th century has come to emerge as an image of the man with inner softness and warmth as the aesthetic values absolutely defined in classical modernism collapsed. As diverse newly-coined words of the male image have emerged in the 21th century, they suggest changes in men’s sex role in a metaphorical manner. Accordingly, the soft and delicate male image is preferred rather than the strong and tough one as the dichotomous sex division of man and woman is becoming obscure in men’s fashion of the 21th century. Men’s fashion also shows their inner desire to become handsome in an active manner. Lookism is referred to as the tendency or trend of public opinion to adhere excessively to the look as it is believed that success in life as well as superiority among individuals depends on it. That is, more time and efforts are made to take care of the look as it predominates the overall social life such as employment, promotion and the like as well as the private life such as dating, marriage and the like.

The aim of this study is to examine the mechanism through the gratitude disposition leads to life satisfaction. To this purpose, this study was to investigate the effect of gratitude disposition on life satisfaction. And it also was to verify whether there are the mediating effect of social support and the moderated mediating effect of self-esteem. In this regard, the theoretical background and previous studies on gratitude disposition, social support, self-esteem, and life satisfaction were reviewed, and research model and hypotheses were derived based on these reviews. In this study, hypotheses were verified using SPSS process macro with 388 sample data collected by a survey of men and women in their 20s or older working at beauty shops located in the Seoul metropolitan area. As a result of the study, first, it was found that gratitude disposition had a positive effect on life satisfaction. Second, it was found that social support mediated the positive relationship between gratitude disposition and life satisfaction. Third, it was found that self-esteem moderated the effect of social support on life satisfaction. In other words, when self-esteem was higher than when self-esteem was low, the positive relationship between social support and life satisfaction was stronger. Finally, self-esteem moderated the mediating relationship between gratitude disposition and life satisfaction via social support, and those with higher self-esteem were found to be larger than those with lower self-esteem. This study showed that gratitude disposition of beauty shop workers can have a positive effect on life satisfaction through the mediating effect of social support, and in this process, by integrating and verifying the mediating effect of social support and the moderated mediating effect of self-esteem, the comprehensive mechanism about the effect of gratitude disposition on life satisfaction can be further understood.

The aim of this study is to examine the mediating effect of appearance satisfaction on the relationship between appearance management behavior and psychological well-being, as well as the moderated mediating effect of self- esteem on appearance satisfaction and psychological well-being. For this three-wave study data were collected from 406 employees working in beauty shops located in the metropolitan area. Analysis of the proposed hypothesis was performed using the PROCESS macro for SPSS. According to the results, (a) appearance satisfaction mediates the positive relationship between appearance management behavior and psychological well-being and (b) self-esteem moderates the indirect effect of appearance management behavior and psychological well-being through appearance satisfaction, such that a stronger indirect effect is observed in people with higher self-esteem compared to those with lower self-esteem. Discussion of the theoretical and practical implications of the finding is provided.
PRECEDE 모형을 이용한 영·유아교육기관 교사의 구강보건교육행태 연구

Objectives : This study is to investigate factors that predispose the oral health education patterns of teachers at preschool institutions such as kindergartens and day nurseries, for which a comparison was made among the patterns, whereto the PRECEDE model was applied. Methods : A survey was conducted by two visits, a preliminary survey and a main survey, and teachers at the foregoing institutions personally filled in the questionnaire. Results : 1. With relation to epidemiological and social diagnosis, the largest number of respondents (53.7%) agreed on the need for oral health education, but at the same time, the largest number of respondents (40.3%) was unsatisfactory with oral health education given by them. 2. With relation to behavioral diagnosis, there were many cases where respondents taught their students to brush their teeth after meals and snacks. Oral health education was focused on safety and injuries. There was no significant intergroup difference (p>0.05). 3. Predis- posing factors (a subcategory of educational diagnosis) showed the following results: As for the frequency of oral health education, most respondents at both institutions answered preferred once every six month (p>0.05). In the case of oral health checkup, 75.4% of respondents at kindergartens preferred once a year. 72.2% of respondents at day nurseries preferred the same frequency. They showed a statistically significant difference (p<0.05). In enabling factors, it was found that most respondents at both institutions collected information and teaching materials from mass media and public health centers respectively. In enabling factors, insufficient teaching materials, media and knowledge were found to be obstacles to oral health education. Conclusions : Oral healthcare providers’cooperation is required to diversify away from tooth brushing-centered education and to enrich oral health education. In addition, continuous supplements are required to make teachers at preschool institutions acquire expert knowledge and give oral health education with confidence. Moreover, it needs to train them for various education programs as well as to support them with educational media. Lastly, family members’cooperation is required to develop oral health education programs.
