        Streptococcus mutans 균주들의 성장과 glucosyltransferase 활성에 미치는 Caffeic acid phenethyl ester 의 억제효과

        Propolis, a natural resinous product collected by honey bees, is known to exhibit various biological activities including anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory, and anti-tumor activities. Caffeic acid phenethyl ester(CAPE) is an active component of the propolis and exhibit an cytotoxicity to various cell lines. The present study was designed to investigate the effects of CAPE on the growth and glucosyltransferase(GTF) activity of Streptococcus mutans JC-2(serotype c), S. mutans LM-7(serotype e), and S. mutans OMZ-175(serotype f) in vitro. We found that the CAPE has minimal inhibitory concentrations of 10-50㎍/㎖ against S. mutans strains when these strains were cultured for 48 hours, and inhibited both water-insoluble and water-soluble glucan synthesizing GTase activities of S. mutans strains to the 97-100% at the concentration of 80㎍/㎖. These results indicate that CAPE can be a good candidate substance for the control of dental caries.

        Analysis of instrument exercise using IMU about symmetry

        The purpose of this study is to measure and compare the balance of motion between the left and right using a wearable sensor during upper limb exercise using an exercise equipment. Eight participants were asked to perform upper limb exercise using exercise equipment, and exercise data were measured through IMU sensors attached to both wrists. As a result of the PCA test, Euler Yaw(Left: 0.65, Right: 0.75), Roll(Left: 0.72, Right: 0.58), and Gyro X(Left: 0.64, Right: 0.63) were identified as the main components in the Butterfly exercise, and Euler Pitch(Left: 0.70, Right 0.70) and Gyro Z(Left: 0.70, Right: 0.71) were identified as the main components in the Lat pull down exercise. As a result of the Paired-T test of the Euler value, Yaw's Peak to Peak at Butterfly exercise and Roll’s Mean, Yaw's Mean and Period at Lat pull down exercise were smaller than the significance level of 0.05, proving meaningful difference was found. In the Symmetry Index and Symmetry Ratio analysis, 89% of the subjects showed a tendency of dominant limb maintaining relatively higher angular movement performance then non-dominant limb as the Butterfly exercise proceeds. 62.5% of the subjects showed the same tendency during the Lat pull down exercise. These experimental results indicate that meaningful difference at balance of motion was found according to an increase in number of exercise trials.

        사장교 시스템의 실용적인 초기형상 결정법

        본 논문에서는 비선형해석이라는 복잡한 과정을 거치지 않고도 사장교 시스템의 초기형상을 효율적이고 합리적으로 결정하는 방법을 제시하고자 한다. 사장교 시스템의 초기형상해석이라 함은 주형의 수직 처짐과 휨모멘트, 주탑의 수평변위와 휨모멘트를 최소화하면서, 고정하중과 평형을 이룰 수 있는 케이블의 장력과 무응력길이를 결정하는 방법으로 이때, 케이블이 정착되는 주형의 수평위치, 주탑의 수직위치가 변하지 않아야 한다. 본 연구에서는 주형과 주탑의 케이블 정착부에서 힘의 평형조건을 이용하여 주형의 수직 처짐과 주탑의 수평변위를 효과적으로 제어할 수 있는 장력 산정법을 사장교의 형태별로 정리하여 제시하였으며, 2차원 사장교 예제들에 대하여 기존 연구의 방법들과 장력, 주형의 모멘트와 처짐 등을 비교하였다. 또한 3차원 실교량에 대해 Improved TCUD법으로 초기형상해석을 수행하여 그 결과와 비교함으로서 본 방법의 정확성을 입증하고자 하였다. A rational method for determination of initial cable forces in cable-stayed bridges without complicated nonlinear analysis is presented. Initial shape analysis for cable-stayed bridges should be able to find optimizated initial cable forces and unstrained length that minimize deflection and vending moments of the deck and pylon. A presented method utilizing the idea of force equilibrium organizes initial shape analysis for each types of cable-stayed bridges. The results of that analysis were compared to several existing methods for 2D numerical examples. And for 3D actual bridges, the improved TCUD method was performed to demonstrate the accuracy of this study.

        『순수이성비판』 제2유추와 초월적 관념론의 관계에 대한 고찰

        본 논문은 『비판』 제2유추의 인과 이론을 논증적으로 검토하고, 이 논증 의 함의를 밝히는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이 논문에서는 초월적 관념론 (transzendentaler Idealimus)이라는 명백한 전제 하에서 제2유추의 논증이 기획되었 으며, 오늘날 발생하는 많은 해석적 갈등은 이러한 칸트의 기획 의도를 간과하기 때문에 일어난다고 주장할 것이다. 칸트는 제2유추의 논증을 전개하기에 앞서 ‘A189/B234~A191/B236’ 사이에 존재하는 한 문단에서 자신의 문제의식을 초월적 관념론자의 견지에서 제시한다. 이 문단을 자세히 분석할 것이다. 여러 번 반복되 는 것처럼 보이는 제2유추의 논의도 두 개의 논증으로 재구성될 수 있는데, 이때 하나의 논증은 ‘사건’ 인식의 가능 조건을 일반적으로 탐구하는 논증이라면, 다른 하나의 논증은 우리 인식 능력들과의 관계에서 ‘사건’ 인식의 가능 조건을 밝힌다. 후자의 논증은 초월적 관념론에 의존하며, 전자의 논증을 보충하는 역할을 한다. 제2유추의 논증 분석이 완결 되면, 초월적 관념론적 견지에서 제2유추의 문제의식 이 어떻게 해소되는지도 밝혀진다. 결론적으로, 제2유추의 논증의 타당성이 초월적 관념론의 타당성에 의존한다는 것을 보일 것이다. 이러한 점을 무시한 독해는 칸트 의 기획 의도를 왜곡하는 한편 불필요한 해석상의 논쟁을 생산한다.

        Development of Virtual Reality-based Visual Perception and Cognitive Rehabilitation Service

        Purpose: Patients with brain damage suffer from limitations in performing the activities of daily living (ADL) because of their motor function and visual perception impairment. The aim of this study was to help improve the motor function and visual perception ability of patients with brain damage by providing them with virtual reality-based contents. The usability results of the patients and specialists group were also evaluated. Methods: The ADL contents consisted of living room, kitchen, veranda, and convenience store, similar to a real home environment, and these were organized by a rehabilitation specialist (e.g., neurologist, physiotherapist, and occupational therapist). The contents consisted of tasks, such as turning on the living room lights, organizing the drawers, organizing the kitchen, watering the plants on the veranda, and buying products at convenience stores. To evaluate the usability of the virtual reality-based visual cognitive rehabilitation service, general elderly subjects (n=11), stroke patients (n=7), stroke patients with visual impairment (n=4), and rehabilitation specialists (n=11) were selected. The questionnaires were distributed to the subjects who were using the service, and the subjective satisfaction of individual users was obtained as data. The data were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 software. The general characteristics of the users and the evaluation scores of the experts were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Results: The usability test result of this study showed that the mean value of the questionnaire related to content understanding and difficulty was high, between 4-5 points. Conclusion: The virtual reality rehabilitation service of this study is an efficient service that can improve the function, interest, and motivation of stroke patients

        Human Peripheral Polymorphonuclear Leukocyte에 대한 Proinflammatory Cytokinessl의 작용

        Human polymorphonuclear leukocytes(PMN) are the most numerous host cell in periodontal pockets and their presumed role is to form a protective barrier between the bacteria and periodontal tissues. Microbial component LPS activates macrophages to produce $IL-1{\beta}$, $MIP-1{\alpha}$, $-1{\beta}$, $TNF-{\alpha}$ and IL-6, etc. These cytokines have autocrine function to the macrophages, and paracrine function to other cell such as PMN and affect them to produce some biological functions. In the present study, human PMN were tested for the expression of $IL-1{\beta}$ and $MIP-1{\alpha}$ mRNA. Also we performed the receptor binding assay and in vitro assay for the antimicrobial action of HL-60 cell to determine whether HL-60 can replace the peripheral PMN in analyzing the biological functions. PMN were stimulated with $IL-1{\beta}$, TPA, $MIP-1{\alpha}$, LPS, IL-2 and total cytoplasmic RNA were extracted for the northern blot analysis. In order to determine the induction kinetics of $IL-1{\beta}$ or $MIP-1{\alpha}$ mRNA expression, cells were stimulated for 0,1,2,3 hours. We found peak expression of $IL-1{\beta}$ mRNA after 1hr of induction with $IL-1{\beta}$, LPS and after 2hr of induction with TPA. $MIP-l{\alpha}$ also induced but a scarce $IL-l{\beta}$ message from PMN. In contrast to the $IL-l{\beta}$ mRNA expression, $MIP-1{\alpha}$ were not induced from PMN in any culture conditions. Receptors for $MIP-1{\alpha}$ were identified on dibutyryl cyclic AMP(dbcAMP)-treated HL-60 as well as peripheral PMN. dbcAMP treatment significantly enhanced antimicrobial action of undifferentiated HL-60 cell. MIP-1 further increased enhancing effect of dbcAMP. $IL-1{\beta}$, to a lesser extent, also increased dbcAMP-induced enhancing effect of antimicrobial action of HL-60 cell.

        The Effect of Treadmill Training Applied Simultaneously with Action Observation on Walking Ability in Chronic Stroke Patients

        Purpose: To investigate the effect of treadmill training applied simultaneously with gait related action observation on walking ability in chronic stroke patients. Methods: Sixteen chronic stroke patients participated in this study. Participants were randomly allocated into either the treadmill applied simultaneously with action observation training group (TAG) or treadmill applied simultaneously with landscape observation training group (TLG). The participants in both group underwent treadmill training for four weeks (a total of twelve minute, once a day, three times weekly for a four week period). All participants were measured to gait speed (10 m walking test, 10 MWT), gait endurance (6 minute walk distance, 6 MWD), dynamic gait index (DGI). In order to assure the statistical significance of the results, we used for SPSS 15.0 for windows. The Wilcoxon signed ranks test was used to compare pre-test and post-test result, and the Mann-Whitney U-test was employed for comparison between groups. Results: The 10 MWT, 6 MWD, DGI was significantly different between the TAG and the TLG group. Conclusion: According the results of this study, treadmill applied simultaneously with action observation (TAG) is effective intervention for improvement of walking ability in chronic stroke patient.
