        The purpose of this research is to improve the writing ability of students by an ideal test model of English writing based on strategies of procedural learning stages enhancing the level of students' writing ability. Assessment of writing in the field of English education has been limited so far to very restricted areas with no appropriate scientific scrutiny. Assessment is really meaningful only when it exactly estimates the ability of students. Since English writing competence has become indispensable in this era of global village, writing instruction should be most emphasized. The most forceful method of busting writing instruction is to utilize the so-called washback effect of testing. So, to develop a good test model of writing, the first thing that is required is to inspect writing strategy in steps and, then, testing itself. First of all, analyzed with a special reference to the 6th high school English curriculum were the goals and contents of the syllabus reflected in one kind of junior high text book and eight different kinds of senior high textbooks. The questionnaires on the whole area of writing and tendencies of English writing classes were given to 100 English teachers, 300 students. The results of questionnaires were statistically analyzed. Then, some suggestions and opinions about the questioning method were made: the procedural strategy in steps, English writing instruction and test model of assessment were applied to the syllabus referring to teaching plans. On the bases of the results of the questionnaires, three pretests and a final test of English writing were administered to verify the effect of enhanced English writing were administered to verify the effect of enhanced English writing competence which had been gradually promoted and, through the promotion, produced the test criteria of English writing. In conclusion, guidance and evaluation of English writing through in steps are really indispensable to increase student's practical ability and, accordingly, we are in need of the development of a testing method of useful writing practiced in school class above anything else. So, it is necessary to further the study on methods to assess writing ability on the bases of participation and fluency of students with their keen interste in English. Also, to intensify the effect of the test model, more accommodating reorganization of syllabus is required in our education. For instance, we need a flexible operation in organizing time units from the current 50 minutes to 100-130 minutes.

        In this paper, we have researched comparative characteristics of passive power factor correction circuits in the electronic ballast for fluorescent lamps, which are the Valley-fill type, the charge pump-type and Dizzer circuit. By combining various passive PFC circuits, we have concluded that the charge pumping circuit is a very useful type with respect to the THD of the input current and the CF of the output current.

        비용효과적인 이동성 관리 지원을 위한 새로운 인터네트워킹 아키텍쳐의 성능분석

        PMIPv6(Proxy Mobile IPv6)는 네트워크 주도형 IP 기반 이동성 관리 프로토콜로서 액세스 시스템의 종류나 단말의 능력에 의존하지 않고, 단말 이동성 제어가 가능하다. 이러한 PMIPv6에 SIP 이동성을 접목하면 더 효율적인 경로를 사용해 터미널 이동성 및 세션 이동성을 확립할 수 있다. 이러한 이동성관리를 위해 현재 PMIPv6-SIP에 대한 활발한 연구가 진행되고 있지만, 효과적인 성능평가 및 수학적 모델링이 표준화되지 못하고 있다. 이에 새로운 PMIPv6-SIP 아키텍쳐를 제안하고 핸드오버 시에 발생되는 지연과 패킷손실을 Pure-SIP과 비교하여 수학적인 모델링을 통한 효과적인 성능평가를 제안한다. PMIPv6(Proxy Mobile IPv6) is a network-based IP mobility management protocol, which can control the mobility without depending on the type of access system or the capability of mobile node. Combining it with SIP mobility, it can establish the route optimization effectively and ensure the terminal mobility and the session mobility. There are many literatures on PMIPv6-SIP in mobility management, but efficient performance analysis and mathematical modeling has not been standardized. For this, a new PMIPv6-SIP architecture is proposed to compare with Pure-SIP in terms of the handover delay and packet loss.

        In this paper, we have presented comparative characteristics of band-pass filter and high-pass filter using VCGIC(Voltage Controlled Genenalized Impedance Converter), which are the non-linearized VCR(Voltage Controlled Resistance) and the linearized VCR. We concluded that the linearized VCGIC circuit has the wide dynamic range and the improved linearity.

        Pt-Sn/γ-Al<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> 촉매상에서 n-Heptane의 탈수소고리화 반응에서 조촉매 주석의 영향

        $Pt-Sn/{\gamma}-Al/_2O_3$ 촉매에서 조촉매 주석의 함량을 달리하여 n-heptane을 반응물로 사용하여 탈수소 고리화 반응을 고정층 연속 흐름 반응기에서 행하였다. 조작 조건의 범위는 온도 $450-550^{\circ}C$, 압력 $20{\times}10^5-50{\times}10^5Pa$, 접촉 시간 0.09-0.27 hr, $H_2/H.C$. 몰비는 10이었다. 온도는 증가함에 따라 탈수소고리화반응의 전화율과 선택도가 증가했으며 압력의 증가에 대해서는 그 반대의 결과를 나타냈다. 조촉매 주석을 사용하였을 때 탈수소고리화반응의 선택도는 큰 변화를 보이지 않았지만 전화율이 증가했으며 이성화반응의 선택도는 커다란 증가를 보였다. 0.6 wt % Pt-0.6 wt % $Sn/{\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ 촉매에서 n-heptane의 탈수소 고리화 반응의 활성화에너지는 34.5 kcal/mole 이었다. The dehydrocyclization of n-heptane was studied over $Pt-Sn/{\gamma}-Al/_2O_3$ catalysts with varying Sn content in a fixed bed continuous flow reactor. The range of experimental conditions was at the temperature between 450 and $550^{\circ}C$, the pressure $20{\times}10^5-50{\times}10^5Pa$, the contact time 0.09 and 0.27 hr and the $H_2/H.C$. mole ratio 10. The conversion and selectivity of dehydrocyclization increased with increasing temperature, but decreased with increasing pressure. When we use Sn as a promoter, the selectivity of dehydrocyclization changesa a little, but the conversion was increased and the selectivity of isomerization increased a lot. The activation energy of dehydrocyclization of n-heptane was 34.5 kcal/mol over 0.6 wt % Pt-0.6 wt % $Sn/{\gamma}-Al_2O_3$.

        학습자 중심 수업이 영어 학업 성취도와 자기 주도적 학습태도에 미치는 효과

        The purpose of this study is to verify the effect of the method of English teaching and learning through the student-centered environmental instruction. I've been skeptical about the traditional instruction, which is composed of the teachers-centered instruction, because of the lack of creativity. Until now, I've always wished to have an alternative method that can be substituted for routine's style. To achieve it, I selected 90 students from 2 classes, in the 3rd year at a girls' high school in Chungnam as the subject of study. I divided them into two groups, the student-centered environmental instruction and the teacher-centered traditional instruction. The tools used in this study are a preliminary English achievement test, a self-directed learning attitudes test and two teaching plans. For this test, a high school text book was assigned. I have treated 20 times of the test each for two groups using two types of teaching-learning plans which I made for this purpose. To verify the hypotheses after administrating the test, I selected t-verification for post test result. Based on this test result, I could conclude that there was a significant improvement of English proficiency and a change in the self-directed learning attitudes; also the student-centered environmental instruction is more effective than teachers-centered instruction.

        Performance Analysis of a Class of Single Channel Speech Enhancement Algorithms for Automatic Speech Recognition

        This paper analyzes the performance of various single channel speech enhancement algorithms when they are applied to automatic speech recognition (ASR) systems as a preprocessor. The functional modules of speech enhancement systems are first divided into four major modules such as a gain estimator, a noise power spectrum estimator, a priori signal to noise ratio (SNR) estimator, and a speech absence probability (SAP) estimator. We investigate the relationship between speech recognition accuracy and the roles of each module. Simulation results show that the Wiener filter outperforms other gain functions such as minimum mean square error-short time spectral amplitude (MMSE-STSA) and minimum mean square error-log spectral amplitude (MMSE-LSA) estimators when a perfect noise estimator is applied. When the performance of the noise estimator degrades, however, MMSE methods including the decision directed module to estimate a priori SNR and the SAP estimation module helps to improve the performance of the enhancement algorithm for speech recognition systems.
