Rifampin-induced thrombocytopenia has been recognized as an immunological reaction associated with intermittent high dose therapy, or after administration of rifampin fo11owing aninterruption of therapy, and rarely seen with daily low dose therapy. The patient was a 64 year-old male who was given rifampin 600mg daily for treatment of recurrent pulmonary tuberculosis. He had been received antituberculous treatment includingriftmpin 4 years ago. Spontaneous gum bleeding, petechiae on whole body, hemoptysis wasnoted two weeks after initiating the treatment. His platelet count was 5000/mm^3. Antituberculous medication was discontinued, but the platelet count was not recovered. He diedof severe hypoxemia due to pulmonary hemorrhage. With the essential use of rifampin for the treatment of tuberculosis infections, clinicianshould recognize the possible complication of this drug causing such serious immunologic reactions as thrombocytopenia, hemolytic anemia, and acute renal failure with daily or intermittenttheupy.

The pacemaker syndrome is a complex of clinical signs and symptoms related to the adverse hemodynamic and electrophysiologic consequence of ventricular pacing in the absence of other cause. The following illustrates a case of pacemaker syndrome proven by cardiac catheterization. A 64-year-old female patient who had been previously managed with single chamber pacemaker(VVI mode) due to sick sinus syndrome, suffered from chest discomfort, headache, dizziness, lightheadedness. We thought that she suffered from pacemaker syndrome and changed single chamber pacing to dual chamber pacing. At that time we performed cardiac catheterization perioperatively. Pulmonary capillary wedge pressure, amin pulmonary arterial pressure, right atrial pressure and right ventricular pressure were normalized after the change and she didn't feel any symptoms.
황사 발원지 기후자료의 시계열 특성과 부산지역 먼지 농도의 연관성 분석

In order to examine how climatological condition can influence on urban scale particulate air pollutants, single and cross spectrum analysis have been performed to daily mean concentrations of particulate matters (PM10) in Busan together with the climatological variables over the Asian dust source regions. Single power spectrum analysis of PM10 concentrations in Busan shows that, aside from the typical and well-known periodicities, 3~4 year of peak periodicity of power spectrum density was identified. In cross spectrum analysis, this 3~4 year periodicity is found to have a strong positive correlation with the wind speed and pressure, and negative with the temperature and relative humidity, which is rather consistent with both characteristics of air mass during the Asian dust event whose periodicities have been recorded inter-annually over the Korean urban cities. Over the Asian dust source regions, PM10 vs. precipitation shows no significant periodicity from the time series of precipitation data, but the periodicity of EDI (Effective Drought Index) shows some interannual variabilities ranging from 2 to 4 years over the various source regions, suggesting that, rather than precipitation itself, the EDI could be more closely associated with the occurrence frequency of Asian dust and interannual variability of urban particle concentrations in Korean cities. 본 연구는 부산지역의 먼지 농도와 황사발원지의 기후학적 요소를 주기분석 함으로써 부산지역의 먼지농도 주 기에 영향을 주는 기후학적 조건, 특히 황사 발생과의 관련성에 대하여 고찰하였다. 부산지역에서 관측된 먼지 농도 시 계열 자료를 이용한 단일스펙트럼분석을 수행한 결과 배출량이나 강수 효과 등에 의해 나타난 일반적인 주기(1년, 7일) 이외에, 상대적으로 3~4년 주기가 우세하게 나타났으며, 먼지 농도와 부산지역의 기상자료 및 황사발원지에서의 풍속과 의 교차스펙트럼 분석을 통한 주기 분석을 수행해 본 결과, 3~4년 주기일 때 먼지농도와 풍속, 기압은 양의 상관관계, 기온, 상대습도와는 각각 음의 상관관계가 나타났다. 이는 황사 발생 조건과 잘 부합되는 것으로 나타나, 3~4년의 먼지 농도 주기는 황사의 장거리 수송과 관련이 있는 것으로 판단된다. 또한 황사 발생은 발원지의 지표 상태에 따라 발생 빈도가 달라지므로, 여러 기후학적 요소들 중 황사발원지에서의 강수량과의 주기 분석을 수행해 본 결과, 발원지에서의 강수량 그 자체보다는 발원지에서의 가뭄지수(EDI)의 시계열이 우리나라 먼지 농도의 3~4년 주기와 더 연관이 있는 것 으로 나타났고 이는 기후학적으로 황사 발원지에서의 지표건조 특성의 변동성과 연관이 있는 것으로 나타났다.
