This study developed a test with a high test-retest reliability consisting of 18 items by selecting from Korean adjectives describing tactile sensations. Principal components were extracted by three repeated measurements of 19 different fabrics for underwear. Adjectives such as ``smooth`` ``soft`` ``sexy`` ``comfortable`` and ``cozy`` were most discriminating between preferred and non-preferred fabrics. The fabrics were analyzed by Kawabata Evaluation System in 16 mechanical properties, then these properties were analyzed by regression analyses as to their relations with human sensation and sensibility. Among the fabrics, the most preferred were made of polyester whereas the least preferred were made of gauze and cotton. Mechanical properties were identified that were related to the most discriminating adjectives such as ``smooth``, ``soft``, ``sexy,`` and ``cozy``.

Objective of this study was to find the conrrelation between emotional changes and the parameters of HRV spectrum evoked by tactile stimulation. Twenty-one subjects were used and five different types of materials, dry cotton, wet cotton, paper, sandpaper, and vinyl were applied to the left hand of each subject as a tactile stimulation. The results showed that HF/LF (ratio of high to low frequency amplitude calculated from power spectrum of HRV) decreased as the subject experienced the unpleasant emotion caused by wet cotton and sandpaper. On the other hand, when the subject experienced the comfort, HF/LF increased. It was concluded that the proposed methods can be applied to evaluate the characteristic changes in the autonomic nervous system which regulates the human emotion in the psychological aspects.

A mental task combined with noise background is an effective model of laboratory stress for study of psychophysiology of the autonomic nervous system (ANS). The intensity of the background noise significantly affects both a subjective evaluation of experienced stress level during test and the physiological responses associated with mental load in noisy environments. Providing tests of similar difficulties we manipulated the background noise intensity as a main factor influencing a psychophysiological outcome and the analyzed reactivity along withe the noise intensity dimension. The goal of this study was to identify the patterns of ANS responses and the relevant subjective stress scores during performance of word recognition tasks on the background of white noise (WN) of the different intensities (55, 70 and 85 dB). Subjects were 27 college students (19-24 years old). BIOPAC, Grass Neurodata System and AcqKnowlwdge 3.5 software were used to record ECG, PPG, SCL, skin temperature, and respiration. Experimental manipulations were effective in producing subjective and physiological responses usually associated with stress. The results suggested that the following potential autonomic mechanisms might be involved in the mediation of the observed physiological responses: A sympathetic activation with parasympathetic withdrawal during mild 55 and 70dB noise (featured by similar profiles) and simultaneous activation of sympathetic and parasympathtic systems during intense 85dB WN. The parasympathetic activation in this case might be a compensatory effect directed to prevent sympathetic domination and to maintain optimal arousal state for the successful performance on mental stress task. It should be mentioned that obtained results partially support Gellhorn``s (1960; 1970) "tuning phenomenon" as a possible mechanism underlying stress response.

The special interest should be paid to the analysis of the influences of positive emotions in terms of their possible effects on the dynamics of autonomic recovery after the negative affective stimulation. Taking into account emotion-specific autonomic response patterning and dissociation of parameters of autonomic arousal during experience of both positive and negative emotional states, this problem seems a challenging one. In present study several autonomic parameters were analyzed altogether, namely indices of electrodermal activity, heart rate and respiration rate during consecutive combination of both lAPS-based visual affective and auditory stimulation. The aim of the study was analysis of patterns of electrodermal and cardiorespiratory responses during emotional states evoked by negative affective visual stimulation followed by positive or neutral auditory one with intention to identify if the latter is able to facilitate post-stress recovery and enhance restoration of pre-arousal levels. The main orientation Was directed towards the further application of expelimentally induced comfort emotions for dampening the negative consequences of exposure to stressful stimuli.
정서의 심리적 모델 : 개별 정서 모델, 평가 모델, 차원 모델을 중심으로
손진훈(Jin?Hun Sohn) 대한인간공학회 2011 大韓人間工學會誌 Vol.30 No.1
Objective: This study is to review three representative psychological perspectives that explain scientific construct of emotion, that are the discrete emotion model, appraisal model, and dimensional model. Background: To develop emotion sensitive interface is the fusion area of emotion and scientific technology, it is necessary to have a balanced mixture of both the scientific theory of emotion and practical engineering technology. Extensional theories of the emotional structure can provide engineers with relevant knowledge in functional application of the systems. Method: To achieve this purpose, firstly, literature review on the basic emotion model and the circuit model of discrete emotion model as well as representative theories was done. Secondly, review on the classical and modern theories of the appraisal model emphasizing cognitive appraisal in emotion provoking events was conducted. Lastly, a review on dimensional theories describing emotion by dimensions and representative theories was conducted. Results: The paper compared the three models based on the prime points of the each model. In addition, this paper also made a comment on a need for a comprehensive model an alternative to each model, which is componential model by Scherer(2001) describing numerous emotional aspects. Conclusion: However, this review suggests a need for an evolved comprehensive model taking consideration of social context effect and discrete neural circuit while pinpointing the limitation of componential model. Application: Insight obtained by extensive scientific research in human emotion can be valuable in development of emotion sensitive interface and emotion recognition technology.
