Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-encoded small non-coding RNAs (EBERs) are abundantly expressed in various EBV-associated malignancies, and play critical roles in cell proliferation, tumorigenesis, and apoptosis resistance. However, the mechanism how EBERs regulate cell function awaits further clarification. In this study, we investigated the effect of EBERs on the expression of cellular microRNA (miRNA) and mRNA expression. To test the effect of EBERs while unaffected by other EBV genes, we used EBERs-deleted recombinant EBV infected Burkitt's lymphoma cell line (Akata(+)EBERs(-)) as well as EBV-infected (Akata(+)) and EBV uninfected (Akata(-)) cell lines. They all have the same genetic backgrounds. First, 15 different cellular miRNAs which have reverse complementary sequences to EBERs and have reported targets were selected by bioinformatics analysis. When RT-PCR was carried out for the 16 miRNAs using RNAs from Akata(+), Akata(-), and Akata(+)EBERs(-) cells, hsa-miR-7-5p was the only one showing down¬regulated expression in Akata(+) than in Akata(-) and Akata(+)EBERs(-) cells. Bioinformatics and mRNA microarray analyses for Akata(+), Akata(-), and Akata(+)EBERs(-) cell lines were then carried out to predict putative targets of hsa-miR-7-5p. Among the 6 predicted targets of hsa-miR-7-5p, only low density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 6 (LRP6) was up-regulated in EBERs-expressing cells when tested by RT-PCR and Western blot. However, luciferase reporter assay showed that the 3'-UTR of LRP6 was not directly targeted by hsa-miR-7-5p. Our data suggest that both hsa-miR-7-5p and LRP6 are regulated by EBERs in Akata cells, and these genes may partly mediate the tumorigenic function of EBERs in Burkitt's lymphoma.
아동의 숲에 대한 태도와 공격성의 관계분석에 관한 연구

본 연구는 숲에 대한 태도 척도와 공격성 척도를 활용해 초등학생의 숲에 대한 태도와 인식을 살펴보고 숲에 대한 태도와 공격성의 관계를 규명하였다. 숲에 대한 태도의 구체적인 특성을 살펴보기 위해 요인분석을 실시한 결과 "숲에 대한 흥미", "숲의 보호 및 중요성" 두 개 요인으로 나타났다. 요인의 집단 간 평균비교 결과 학생들은 숲을 흥미로운 장소로 인식하기보다 숲을 보호해야 하는 중요한 공간으로 인식하였다. 숲에 대한 태도와 공격성의 상관관계 분석 결과 숲에 대한 태도가 긍정적일수록 공격성 정도가 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 숲에 대한 태도에서는 "숲의 보호 및 중요성"이 상대적으로 높은 상관성을 보였고 공격성 중에서는 특히 행동공격성이 숲에 대한 태도와 관련 있는 것으로 분석되었다. Research has shown that attitudes of young people toward forest and the relationship between the attitudes and aggression in the forest. Results from factor analysis on forest attitude scale of young people showed two factors; enjoying the forest, importance and usefulness of forest. Based on the comparison of two means(factors) young people recognized that forest was important and had to be protected but, little perceived as interesting. Also this study showed that the forest attitude was negatively correlated with aggression, especially in physical and verbal aggressive behavior.

The influence of the area difference between the current collector and the thin-film-processed cathode on the performance evaluation of the solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) is investigated. Two 2 cm by 2 cm anode supported SOFCs with a 1 cm by 1 cm cathode (Cell-1.0) and a 1.5 cm by 1.5 cm cathode (Cell-2.25) are fabricated and the performances are measured in a button cell test set-up with a cathode current collection area of 1 cm by 1 cm. Significantly different cell power outputs are measured. The total power output of the Cell-2.25 is 1.35~1.68 times to that of the Cell-1.0. The discrepancy is considered to originate from two major reasons: 1. limited lateral conduction and 2. thin thickness of the cathode. The cell performance can be overestimated when the smaller area is chosen, or underestimated when the larger area is chosen as the active area between the current collection area and the cathode area. The present study identifies another important factor to be considered to exactly assess the performance of the SOFC implementing thin-film-processed electrode.

본 연구는 천연기념물로 지정된 소나무와 은행나무를 중심으로 수목활력도를 측정하고, 관리시설물에 따른 노거수의 수목활력도 차이를 규명하였다. 수목활력도 측정 결과 소나무의 전기저항 값은 평균 14.9㏀이고, 8.5~37.5㏀사이에 분포하며, 은행나무의 전기저항 값은 평균 13.5㏀로, 6.4㏀~40.5㏀사이에 분포하는 것으로 나타났다. 관리시설물 현황 조사 결과 소나무, 은행나무 모두 과반수 복토 및 석축이 이루어졌고, 특히 복토 여부에 따라 수목의 활력에 유의한 차이가 있었다. 소나무와 은행나무 모두 복토 된 수목의 형성층 전기저항 값이 복토되지 않은 수목보다 유의하게 높게 나타나 상대적인 생육상태가 불량한 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 복토를 제거하는 방향으로 관리가 필요하며 천연기 념물로 지정된 노거수 외 지자체에서 관리하고 있는 보호수에 대한 관리방안 실태조사도 실시하여 전반적인 복토 제거 등 관리시설물 개선이 필요할 것으로 판단된다. This study measured the vitality of Pinus densiflora and Ginko biloba and analyzed the differences of vitality levels among trees based on artificial management. Research has shown that the mean value of cambial electrical resistance (CER) on Pinus densiflora was 14.9㏀(between 8.5 ~ 37.5㏀), and for Ginko biloba it was 13.5㏀ (between 6.4 and 40.5㏀). For the purpose of artificial management, over 50% of trees were covered up with soil and about 40% of trees were not protected by fence to enable growth spaces. It was seen that the CER of trees covered up with soil was significantly higher than that of trees which were not covered up with soil. These results indicate that it is necessary to remove the soil covering for effective management of monumental trees.
