      • 붉은지렁이(Redworm; Lumbricus rubellus) 체내에 존재하는 용혈소의 정제 및 박테리아용혈소와의 연관성

        붉은지렁이의 체내에 있는 용혈소를 정제하고, 이에 대한 항체를 생산하여 붉은지렁이 체내에서 발견되는 박테리아용혈소와의 연관성을 분석하였다. 정제된 용혈소는 39 kdal의 분자량을 갖는 단량체 단백질이었으며, $Fe^{2+}$, $Fe^{3+}$, $Cu^{2+}$ 및 $Zn^{2+}$ 등의 금속이온에 의하여 활성이 강력하게 억제되었다. 한편, 붉은지렁이의 체강에서 여러 종류의 용혈성박테리아가 분리되었으며, 이들 중에서 A. hydrophila sp.가 가장 강력한 용혈소를 생산하였으나 A. hydrophila sp.의 용혈소는 붉은지렁이 체내의 용혈소와는 상이하였다. 지렁이에서 분리한 전체 박테리아를 혼합하여 한 배지에 배양한 결과 여러 가지 용혈소들이 생산되었으며, 그 중에는 붉은지렁이의 체내에 있는 용혈소와 전기영동 이동도가 동일한 용혈소도 발견되었다. A hemolysin was purified from the coelomic fluid of redworm, Lumbricus rubellus, and the relationships between earthworm hemolysin and several bacterial hemolysins were analyzed using anti-redworm hemolysin antibody. The purified hemolysin had a monomeric structure with a molecular weight of 39 kdal, and it's activity was inhibited by several metal ions such as $Fe^{2+}$, $Fe^{3+}$, $Cu^{2+}$ and $Zn^{2+}$. Meanwhile, several bacteria spp. were collected from the coelomic fluid of red worm, and A. hydrophila sp., one strain of collected bacteria, produced a strong hemolysin. A bacterial hemolysin, which was produced by A. hydrophila sp., was different from the purified redworm hemolysin, immunologically and electrophoretically. Total bacterial spp. in the coelomic fluid of redworm were mixed and cultured in a medium. As the results of electrophoresis, one of the hemolysins produced by total bacteria was identical with the purified red worm hemolysin.

        지렁이(L. rubelIus) 체액내의 적혈구용혈능깍 단백질분해능을 확인하였다. 지렁이의 체액 0. 33 $\mu$l속에 있는 용혈인자는 9 $\times$ 1011 rat RBCs를 2분만에 완전히 용혈시켰으며, 다른 포유류들의 적혈구에도 약간의 차이는 있으나 비슷한 용혈능을 보였고, 이 용혈인자는 지렁이의 혈구가 아닌 몸체조직에서 분비되는 것으로 생각되었다. 용혈인자는 pH 6.5-7.5사이에서 활성이 가장 강하였고, 63'c로 30분 열처리할 경우 활성이 완전히 없어졌으며, 2-mercaptoethanol은 용혈인자의 활성을 증가시켰다. 이 인자의 활성도는 여러가지의 당류, LPS, cholesterol, prosphatidyl Choline, Ch10ropromazine, Sphin90myelin 및 FG2+, Fe3+, CU2+, ZR2+ 등의 금속이온에 의하여 활성이 저해되었다. 한편 지렁이 체액내의 단백질 분해인자는 BSA와 19G를 여러 조각으로 분해시켰으며 이 분해인자는 PMSF및 TLCK에 의하여 활성이 억제되지 않았다. 지렁이의 체강에는 용혈소를 분비하는 박테리아들이 존재하였으나 이들 박테리아들의 용혈소는 지렁이의 용혈인자와는 전기영동이동도에서 차이가 있었다.

        BV STELLAR PHOTOMETRY OF 23 GALACTIC GLOBULAR CLUSTERS

        We report V-(B - V) CCD Color Magnitude Diagrams (CMDs) for 23 southern Galactic globular clusters. Limiting magnitudes for each cluster are between 18 and 20 magnitudes in V. Most CMDs show subgiant starts, red giant stars, and horizontal branch stars. From the CMDs, we have determined the horizontal branch magnitudes, V(HB), reddenings, E(B - V), and distances of each cluster.

        Near-IR TRGB Distance to Nearby Dwarf Irregular Galaxy NGC 6822

        We report the distance modulus of nearby dwarf irregular galaxy NGC 6822 estimated from the so-called Tip of Red-giant Branch (TRGB) method. To detect the apparent magnitudes of the TRGB we use the color-magnitude diagrams (CMDs) and luminosity functions (LFs) in the near-infrared $JHK$ bands. Foreground stars, main-sequence stars, and supergiant stars have been classified on the $(g-K,g)$ plane and removed on the near-infrared CMDs, from which only RGB and AGB stars are remained on the CMDs and LFs. By applying the Savitzky-Golay filter to the obtained LFs and detecting the peak in the second derivative of the observed LFs, we determined the apparent magnitudes of the TRGB. Theoretical absolute magnitudes of the TRGB are estimated from Yonsei-Yale isochrones with the age of 12 Gyr and the metallicity range of $-2.0<$[Fe/H]$<-0.5$. The derived values of distance modulus to NGC 6822 are $(m-M)=23.35\pm0.26, 23.20\pm0.42,$ and $23.27\pm0.50$ for $J, H,$ and $K$ bands, respectively. Distance modulus in bolometric magnitude is also derived as $(m-M)=23.41\pm0.17$. We compare the derived values of the TRGB distance modulus to NGC 6822 in the near-infrared bands with the previous results in other bands.         大黃이 高脂血症흰쥐의 혈중지질 및 효소활성에 미치는 영향

        The effects of four oriental drugs, Rhei palmati Radix, Rhei palmati Radix Prep., R. undulati Radix, and R. undulati Radix Prep., on the blood lipids and the enzymes of hypercholesterolic rats were analyzed. The results were as follows: 1. The four drugs had significantly decreasing effects on the contents of total cholesterol and LDL0cholesterol in the blood of hypercholesterolic rats. 2. The drugs had no effects on the contents of creatinine, while R. undulati Radix Prep. increased the activity of ACE in the blood of hypercholesterolic rats. 3. The drugs in vitro decreased the activities of lactate dehydrogenase and creatinine kinase. These results indicated that the drugs could have had some effects on the enzymes regulating the lipid metabolism.
