The purpose of this animal study is to evaluate, by histomorphometric analysis, bone regeneration in rabbit’s maxillary sinuses with blood clots alone, Bio-Oss, β-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP), and demineralized tooth dentin (DTD) grafting. Bilateral sinus augmentation procedures were performed in 18 adult male rabbits. Rectangular replaceable bony windows were made with a piezoelectric thin saw insert. In the group 1, blood clots were filled; group 2, anorganic bovine graft (Bio-Oss) was grafted; group 3, β-TCP was grafted; group 4, DTD was grafted, and covered by replaceable bony windows. Animals were sacrificed at 2, 4, and 8 weeks after surgical procedure. The augmented sinuses were evaluated by histomorphometric analysis using hematoxylin and eosin and Masson’s trichrome stains. Histologically, new bone formation was revealed along the elevated sinus membrane and all graft materials. The new bone area of the group 2 was significantly greater than the group 1, and of the group 3 was significantly greater than the group 2, and of the group 4 was significantly greater than the group 3 at 8 weeks with P<0.05. The bone marrow area of group 1 was significantly greater than other groups at 8 weeks. The DTD area was significantly lesser than Bio-Oss or β-TCP particles area at 8 weeks. This present study suggests that DTD can be effective graft materials for bone regeneration of the maxillary sinus augmentation.
한국인 성인의 두개안면부의 성장 변화를 관찰하기 위하여 평균 연령 24세의 성인 남자 25명과 여자 15명의 두부 X선 규격사진을 활영한 후 7년 후에 추적하여 다시 촬영한 연속 두부 X선 규격 사진을 분석하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1) 여자에서 하악골은 시계방향으로 회전하였고 하악골의 길이는 변화가 없었다. 남자에서는 하악골에서 변화가 없었다. 2) 남녀 모두에서 교합평면에서 변화가 없었다. 3) 치축의 변화에서는 여자의 상악절치에서 약간의 설측경사가 있었다. 4) 두개저는 남녀 모두에서 본 연구기간 동안 변화가 없었다. 5) 남녀 모두에서 lower anterior facial height, upper facial height & lower facial height 에서 경미한 증가가 나타났다. 6) overbite, overjet, ODI, & APDI는 남녀 모두에서 유의성 있는 변화가 없었다. 7) 개인적인 성장 변화도를 관찰시 남자에서 1명이 뚜렷한 하악골의 성장을 보였고 다른 1명에서 하악골의 후방회전을 보였다. 여자에서는 2명이 뚜렷한 하악골의 성장을 보였고 다른 1명에서 하악골의 뚜렷한 후방회전을 보였다. The purpose of this study was the describe craniofacial changes of Korean adults aged from 24 to 31 year. The Serial cephalograms of 40 samples(25 males & 15 males) was taken at the age of 24 and 31 years in this study. The following results were obtained: 1) Mandible was rotated to clockwise direction in female. But there was no changesof mandible in male. 2) There was no changes of occlusal plane in both sexes. 3) Upper incisors moved lingually(linguoversion) in female. 4) There was no growth changes of cranial base in both sexes. 5) Lower anterior facial height, upper facial height and lower facial height was increased slightly in both sexes. 6) There was no significant changes of overbite, overjet, ODI and APDI in both sexes. 6) There was no significant changes of overbite, overjet, ODI and APDI in both sexes. 7) Individually, one male and two females showed prominent mandibular growth. One male and one female showed prominent backward rotation of mandible.
Objective : The aim of this study was to investigate the skin-whitening effect of Kakamseosiokyong-san Method : We investigated that the extracts of Kakamseosiokyong-san inhibit activity of tyrosinase, the enzyme which converts 3-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)alanine to dopachrom in the biosynthetic process of melanin. the UV absorbance of the extracts in the UV - A region and UV - B region was measured by UV scanning. the effect of extracts on cell viability and melanin production in cultured B16 mouse melanoma cells was measured, and cytoprotective effects of extracts on PC12 cells injured by hydrogen peroxide was measured by MTT assay Results: The extracts of Kakamseosiokyong-san inhibited activity of tyrosinase. The extracts not only showed inhibitory effects on melanin production in cultured B16 mouse melanoma cells, but also exhibited cytoprotective effects on PC12 cells injured by hydrogen peroxide, but did not showed an absorbance in the UV - A region and UV - B region. Conclusion: These results suggest that Kakamseosiokyong-san inhibit melanin biosynthesis which is involved in hyperpigmentation and could be used as a whitening agent for the skin.
This is a case report of ameloblastoma in left mandible. A 30 years old woman patient visited our department for evaluation of swelling and pain of left mandible. She was diagnosed plexiform ameloblastoma according to clinical and radiological examinations and biopsy. In order to preserve function and esthetics of her mandible, we treated her by enucleation curettage and obturator. There is no evidence of recurrence 2 years after operation.
Various maxillary sinus floor augmentation techniques were common performed and in the most cases, many kinds of bone graft materials were used. The graft materials are autogenous bone or other biomaterials of human, artimal or synthetic origin. but these cases, report describes a new surgical technique by which dental implants are inserted in a void space created by elevating the sinus membrane without additional graft material in atrophic posterior maxilla. We created lateral bony window using piezoelectric device and elevated the schneiderian membrane in ten patients. Dental implants were simultancously placed and lateral window prepared was covered with non-resorbable membrane in five patients and was repositioned with bony window in five patients, without any bone graft. From the clinical and histological results, it is found there is potential capacity for bone formation and placement of implants in the maxillary sinus without the use of bone grafts or bone substitutes.
본 연구는 정향추출물(물, 메탄올 및 에테르)의 항산화효과를 리놀레인산 기질 및 리놀레인산 에멀젼기질에서 비교, 검토하였다. 물, 메탄올 및 에테르용매에 따른 정향의 총페놀 함량은 23.1, 42.8, 34.9%로 메탄올>에테르>물 추출물 순이었다. Eugenol 함량은 메탄올 추출물의 경우 6.1%이었고 에테르 추출물 8.1%이었으며 물 추출물에서는 검출되지 않았다. 정향 추출물의 DPPH 소거효과는 물 추출물 경우 36.1%, 메탄올 추출물의 경우 30.9%, 에테르 추출물의 경우 29.7%로 나타났다. 리놀레인산 기질에서의 항산화효과는 BHT>에테르 추출물>α-tocopherol>메탄올 추출물>물 추출물의 순이었다. 리놀레인산 에멀젼 시스템에서의 항산화 효과는 BHT>물 추출물>메탄올 추출물>에테르 추출물>α-tocopherol의 순이었다. This study was investigated on antioxidant activities of water, methanol and ether extracts of clove. The extraction yields of water, methanol and ether extracts were 34.7, 21.4 and 17.0%, respectively. Total phenolic contents of water, methanol and ether extracts were 23.1, 55.7 and 34.9%, respectively. Eugenol contents were 6.1 and 8.1% in methanol and ether extracts, but it was not detected in water extract. Electron donating abilities of water, methanol and ether extract were 36.1, 30.9 and 29.7%, respectively. In linoleic aicd system, the ether extract showed more high antioxidant activity than water and methanol extracts. The antioxidant activity of ether extract was almost equal that of α-tocopherol, but weaker than that of BHT. In linoleic acid emulsion system, the water extract showed higher or stronger antioxidant activity than methanol and ether extracts. Antioxidant activities in linoleic acid emulsion substrates were in order of BHT>water extract>methanol extract>ether extract>α-tocopherol.
